I don't know where the 4.6 stars comes from on their rating, but I'd give them negative stars if I could. Took my 17.5 year old cat in for a shoulder sprain and a week later he died in my arms. Staff was nice I went in for a free exam and did x rays etc. Received 3 days of pain meds and enough sedatives to put down an elephant. My cat did great with the pain meds however the sedatives knocked him out for days. Let's get into the lack of knowledge they have... They couldn't get blood from him so they wanted me to bring him back with a full dose of gabapentin 100 mg capsule. No cat should take a full capsule. Not only that they tell me to give him a quarter to a half at home. A quarter of it knocked him out for days. He started getting better but hurt himself again. I didn't want him to injure himself further so I gave him even less than a quarter. Keep in mind these should be measured out or given to an online pharmacy for the correct dosage for my cats weight. This isn't the worst part. The worst part is calling the vet and letting them know we need to be seen and that he's potentially dying in my arms from the pill. Possible renal failure? Did they care? No. I said you don't have time for a euthanasia for a pet you gave the drugs to last week? They said no I hung up. They talk like an automated message * sorry to hear he's laying limp in your arms let me talk to a vet tech to see if you need to be seen* lol wtf. Woman my cats dying and you're going to give me your corporate bs televoice with no empathy or compassion. Oh they told me to take him to the ER 30 min away. I worked at a vet and we NEVER denied a medical emergency. We NEVER sent a client home with capsules that were not portioned out properly. What blows me away is I always gave him LESS then what it said and they wanted me to give him a FULL 100mg cap just so they can get blood because they don't know how to scruff a cat properly to do the proper job. This place lacks knowledge and empathy. I'll never go to a corporate run vet again. Being in the industry I'm sickened by this. Not to mention I walked in the room to a flea on the table and when quoted I was told the exam fee was taken off since I was a new client since I had the coupon . I looked at my bill later and they charged me. Keep in mind she told me it was a fee that was not on there. Check your bills too. Thank God for the compassion of the ER they were the real rock stars .. but my cat died in my arms before we even got there. Just remember they'll turn you away when your baby is dying. This place sucks. Keep in mind during the exam she said he's super healthy and has the bones of a 10 year old cat. My cat was playing and happy before this just hurt himself getting off the counter. He's gone because I made the mistake of taking him somewhere I thought I could trust.

Oct 16, 2024 · Jennifer PalterI recommend you listen to all these reviews. They aren’t lying. If it wasn’t for the doctor, I’d give a slightly higher review because of the ladies in the front. The doctor either does not care about these dogs, or acts like he doesn’t care. The staff is awesome, the ladies are super nice. It was the first time a staff member at a vet gave me a blanket to cover up my pup while waiting. But it is very worrisome the doctor wants to rush each appointment, hurry and answer questions very simplistically and go. Petco is charging an EIGHTY DOLLAR EXAM FEE to see the doctor for 3 minutes. We had a literal 3 minute interaction. When I tried to ask more questions, he started inching to the door, indicating to me the conversation being over. I won’t be back ever. Thank god I had a coupon to waive the exam fee. Oh, and they charge everyone that comes in a $40 “technician fee” when you see a tech for any shots. Petco is absolutely INSANE with their prices and they already make enough in their shopping store.
Mar 11, 2025 · Jenny NaginskyThis is not my usual vet, but I took my cat just to get a routine fecal test for parasites because my vet was unavailable. As soon as I got there they told me that they had to change my appointment type to “emergency” (so they could charge more, obviously) because I commented that I wanted to get him checked sooner rather than later because I knew he had been around a cat who had tested positive for hookworms and nothing else. The test supposedly (I say supposedly because I was never shown the results) came back saying he was positive for a different parasite entirely that 1) he had no symptoms of; 2) is highly contagious to other animals and my dog had no symptoms of; 3) that he couldn’t have caught because he had no way to be exposed to it. So I didn’t go pick up the meds they wanted to put him on and instead took my cat to his regular vet to get him re-checked a few days later, because I didn’t trust this place… What do you know, his vet tested him and he was NEGATIVE for ALL parasites! They tested my dog as well who was also negative. I was physically shown the test results at my regular vet that showed both as negative. Vetco were going to make me give my cat medication for something that he didn’t have, and they wanted me to take my dog to get checked too, likely so they could tell me he had the same exact thing and give him meds he didn’t need too. I’m still in shock that this happened and I’ll never come back to this vet again. I highly recommend questioning EVERYTHING they tell you because they obviously don’t care about your animals, and will lie just to make more money off of you by exploiting the love and care you have for your pet. And by the way, to add insult to injury, getting two animals tested at their regular vet was still significantly cheaper than just getting my cat checked here.
Jan 25, 2025 · PriscillaDoctor was late getting to work. When he did arrive almost 40 minutes after our scheduled time, he was rude and impatient with my dog who gets major anxiety at the vets office. I chose to go to Vetco because it was a closer drive, as my pet does not like car rides and figured if I got the first appointment of the morning, we'd be in and out. I had also taken my dog there a year ago for their shot clinic and the vet at that time was nice, so I figured a check up would be similar. We ended up being there almost an hour and paid almost $100+ more than if I would have went to our regular, more compassionate and knowledgeable vet. Lesson learned.
Nov 19, 2024 · Emily HassI am horrified and heartbroken by the lack of care we received from this place. We brought in our young and healthy cat when he suddenly started having violent seizures out of nowhere. Not only did they not take his blood for testing during the appointment, which is standard practice, but were sent home with a urine sample kit to collect ourselves. When we brought back the urine sample for analysis we had to wait another 24 hours for the results. During that 48 hour period our cat died in our arms during a violent seizure. 5 days later and we still hadn’t received a call back with results. I had to call them to ask for the results and told them we need to know if it was toxins because we have another cat and want to make sure he’s not at risk of the same fate. I was told the techs were too busy to speak with me and would call me back within yet ANOTHER 24 hours. My second cat could be at risk of dying but they’re too busy to tell me test results that we should have gotten days ago. I’m appalled, heartbroken, and beyond angry at the complete lack of empathy or care. I could say so much more about the disrespect we received, but I’ll leave it at this. Please save your time, money and potentially your pets life and take them to an actual animal hospital that cares about your pet’s wellbeing.
