Vetco Total Care in Shrewsbury has been my primary vet for about two years now, and I've had a great experience with each visit. Dr. Rice is knowledgeable and a clear communicator, and he's always very gentle and patient with my cats. All of the techs are fantastic as well (Nancy, Justin, Jenny, just to name a few!). Makenzie at the front desk is also super friendly and helpful. From vaccines to specialist referrals to blood work to X-rays, they have always provided my cats with great care. The techs and doctor are very communicative about costs and in my experience will recommend but never push for specific treatments. I really enjoy bringing my cats here. Thanks for all you do!

First things first I had an appointment for my cat and she was not in a crate I've never had to have her if a crate before at this location included (NOT THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM PUTTING THE CAT IN A CRATE) but as soon as I walk up to the counter I get right off the rip "is this blank" I responded with yes before I was cut off "just so you know it's our policy to have cats in a carrier" no hello, no how are you? the front desk lady was rude and inconsiderate. No one asked you to work here you chose your line of work. Anyways I responded with "I've never had to before" again got cut off "it's for the cats safety but let's just get you into an exam room" WHICH AGAIN I UNDERSTAND WHERE SHE WAS COMING FROM but she did not have to have attitude like that from the jump. After that I'm sitting in the room for about 5 minutes. The doctor walks in his exact words were "who is this?" Like excuse me imagine your doctor walking in to your exam room and saying "who are you again?" It wouldn't make you feel great. Then he instantly starts saying "we unfortunately won't be able to see your cat today as it isn't crated and it is not safe you can buy one of our cardboard boxes for $28 or we can reschedule" nowhere in a email did it state my cat had to be crated this is why I'm so upset not to mention the way these two individuals handled the situation. I used to love coming here never again will I bring my animal here as they are not given the love they deserve here. I will crate my cat because I understand it is safer but she clings into my arms just wasn't aware of the policy I went today Monday febuary 10 at 3pm whoever was working today. AVOID THEM!!!

We will be going back it was a nice experience. I'm also not an easy customer when it comes to my dogs, I think they sensed this and made me feel comfortable. Anne was great and so was Dr Rice. Thank you guys !!!
Jan 05, 2024 · Ronald MobergFirst time at this clinic and I will be switching to this as my dog’s primary veterinarian! The vet tech we saw (Asia) was SO kind and gentle with my small pup. The vet (Dr.Gonzales) is awesome- he explained everything about a dental procedure and the best part is that THEY DON’T TRY TO UPSELL YOU! He even gave me the option to wait on the dental because my dogs teeth weren’t as bad as I thought. I really appreciated that because my previous vet kept pushing it. Another plus is the pricing - first wellness visit is only $5 and dental for stage 1 periodontal disease is around $600-800. My old vet quoted me at ~$1800. So yeah, come here! (Also the rooms are super clean)!
