Brought my bug hank in for an allergy shot and just a general wellness check up since I just adopted him. He’s not aggressive but he’s very nervous with new people and everyone took the time to make him feel comfortable and had plenty of treats for him. He’s still nervous but I left that place feeling really confident in the care he is going to receive and his ability to use them to realize people are still nice :)

Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, situated at 11398 Bandera Rd Ste 403, San Antonio, TX 78250, USA. As a provider within the "Pet Hospital" category, Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital aims to offer a range of veterinary services to cater to the health and well-being of your beloved pets in the San Antonio area. This introduction seeks to provide an objective overview based on available customer feedback.
Based on the limited reviews available, the environment and service experience at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital appear to be somewhat variable. One positive review highlights a caring and patient approach by the staff towards a newly adopted, nervous dog. The reviewer specifically mentioned the time taken to make the dog comfortable and the use of treats to build trust. This suggests that some members of the team are attentive to the individual needs and temperaments of their animal patients, striving to create a positive experience even for anxious pets. The reviewer left feeling confident in the ongoing care their dog would receive.
However, another review presents a significantly contrasting experience, describing it as the "worst Vet experience ever." This customer reported several issues, including an inaccurate weight measurement of their dog and feeling belittled by a veterinarian who allegedly provided unsolicited advice on dog training in a condescending manner. The review also raises concerns about the physical examination of the dog, stating that the veterinarian and technician did not physically interact with the animal until the allergy shot was administered, with the owner being the one to hold the dog. Furthermore, the reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of follow-up information and the overall cost of the service.
Given these contrasting accounts, it is challenging to provide a definitive description of the typical environment and services at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital. It appears that the quality of experience may depend on the specific staff members encountered during a visit. While some customers have appreciated the caring and patient approach, others have reported feeling dissatisfied with the communication, handling, and overall professionalism.
In terms of services, based on its categorization as a "Pet Hospital," Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital likely offers a range of medical services for pets. These typically include consultations, vaccinations, allergy treatments (as indicated in one of the reviews), general wellness check-ups, diagnostic procedures, and potentially other medical or surgical interventions. However, the level of thoroughness and the manner in which these services are delivered seem to be areas where customer experiences have differed.
Features of Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital might include its location in San Antonio, making it accessible to local pet owners in the area. The availability of a phone number, (210) 468-1229 or +1 210-468-1229, allows pet owners to contact the hospital for appointments or inquiries. However, based on the mixed reviews, a key feature to consider is the potential variability in staff interactions and the overall patient care experience.
At this time, there is no information provided regarding any specific promotional offers or special programs at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital. It is common for veterinary hospitals to occasionally offer promotions for services like vaccinations, dental cleanings, or new client specials. Local users interested in learning about any potential promotions or wellness plans are advised to contact the hospital directly at the provided phone numbers or inquire during a visit.
The contrasting customer experiences highlight the importance of individual interactions and the potential for variability in service quality within any organization. While one customer felt confident in the care provided, another reported a significantly negative experience. These reviews underscore the need for consistent and compassionate service delivery across all interactions within a veterinary hospital setting.
For local users in San Antonio seeking veterinary care at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, it may be beneficial to consider these differing perspectives. If you choose to visit, it may be helpful to clearly communicate your pet's needs and your expectations, and to feel comfortable asking questions about the procedures and care being provided. Observing the interactions between the staff and your pet can also provide valuable insight into the level of care and attention being given.
In conclusion, Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital in San Antonio operates within the "Pet Hospital" category and offers veterinary services to the local community. While one customer review praises the caring and patient approach of the staff, another describes a very negative experience involving communication issues and concerns about the handling of their pet. Prospective clients may wish to consider these differing viewpoints and perhaps contact the hospital directly at (210) 468-1229 or +1 210-468-1229 to gather more information and determine if their services align with their pet care needs and expectations. Visiting the facility at 11398 Bandera Rd Ste 403 may also provide a firsthand impression of the environment and staff interactions.

Feb 01, 2025 · Luis RoblettoWorst Vet experience ever. From them weighing her wrong and getting it wrong by 13 pounds to belittling me in front of my husband- and whichever vet and tech took care of my dog need to find a new line of work. I don't even know the Vets name because she never introduced herself. She just decided to come in the room with attitude and give me a 10 min lecture about proper voice commands to give my dog and tell me "We may talk to our children this way, but not animals"(I was petting my dog and trying to calm her because she was terrified). My dog needed an allergy shot and she was apparently "awful" and the vet said "I don't trust her". Even though she never once barked, growled or bit. She was just cowering because she was scared. I even told them beforehand that she's not used to people and she doesn't go anywhere without me so she's scared. She listened to all MY commands and responded appropriately when I directed her. She was just absolutely terrified of the number of techs and the vet coming at her from every direction. I was a dog trainer for seeing eye dogs, so I know a thing or two about training dogs but apparently this Vet felt I needed to be talked to like a child at nauseum. Charged over $200 for an allergy shot and not given one word about a follow up or anything. The vet and tech didn't even check her physically. They literally never touched her until it was time to hold her to give her a shot (I'm the one whole held her by the way and a tech pet her while the Doctor administered the shot). We've been here a handful of times before and have never experienced this specific staff working so hopefully if we ever need to go again, we won't have the misfortune of getting them. What an absolute joke and a solid way to make my dog traumatized from your lack of compassion and understanding of animals.
Jan 08, 2025 · Cari ParadiseI brought my puppy here for a vaccine booster, and the tech was unbelievably rude. She was insistant on me getting heartworm pills for her but I had already purchased them two weeks before. Not that it was her business, but I told her I'd buy some when I was ready and she rolled her eyes and shook her head and told me that she recommended all pets be on heartworm pills. I told her I was aware and that she didn't need any. She continued to shake her head at me and was very rude for the rest of the appointment. They were also rude because I didn't want to deworm her. I've had her since she was three weeks old and she's already been dewormed three times and I'm not giving her that anymore and she rolled her eyes AGAIN! Girl, I'm here for a parvo booster, relax. Needless to say, we've moved to another spot, which is unfortunate because the vet was amazing.
Mar 12, 2025 · Erin ZamoraOur pet family has maintained a membership at the San Antonio-Bandera location for four years. The team has consistently been professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place to all pet-parents! Top notch quality all around 😀
Aug 20, 2024 · Chenae’ Moniquecan I give a zero stars? I have 4 dogs that I have been taking to Vetco for years. I have Total Care Plans on 2 of them, that I have had for several years. i have had all vaccinations, annual, exams, sick dog visits, etc. performed at this location. I have 2 Doodles, one is a licensed therapy dog, the 2nd doodle is in training for therapy dog. These dogs perform therapy services, regularly, in the courthouse, assisted living facilities, adult day care, and organizations for those with disabilities. I made an appointment and brought my 2nd doodle, Brody to the Vetco facility on Bandera road to see veterinarian, Dr. Esterling. The appointment was for a health exam, in order to get a health document signed, as required by the licensing agency. Dr. Esterling entered the exam room, handed the document back to us, and without introducing herself, stated, "I cannot sign this document, as it could be a liability to me." She explained that if the dog bit someone during his therapy work, they might sue her And her insurance wouldn't cover it. She had a several excuses for being unable to sign it; she wasn't familiar with the dog, she could get sued, she likes to have a relationship with the dog... all nonsense because it is just a standard health form , stating that the dog has all his vaccinations and is currently healthy. When my husband stated that this was a waste of time, Dr. Esterling replied that she was not going to charge us for this. My husband said, "for what? you didn't do anything?" The vet tech suggested we take Brody to Petsmart to get the form signed. I said, really? You are going to refer us to your competitor, when we have had all of our pet's healthcare done here? We are very unhappy and have found another vet that is happy to handle the health services for all of our dogs. We will not be returning to Petco or Vetco for further services.
