Dexter had never been a patient at this clinic before now. In a time of panic a local veterinarian who does not specialize in avian cases recommended this hospital to us for our bird. They listened to our concerns and made us feel valued. Luckily Dexter is on the mend from his mysterious illness thanks to some quick work and medical care provided by the staff. Highly recommend. Thank you for loving my macaw as much as I do!

Jan 05, 2025 · Rebecca KeeferHorrible experience with Vestal Veterinary Hospital 2316 Vestal Pkwy E. I set up an appointment online, then called the vet to make sure they set up my dog to cut her nails because she needs to be sedated to do them. The girl at the front desk told me she would check with the vet and give me a call back. I did not receive a call back. On Friday I called again and talked with the same girl. She had absolutely no idea. She said that there were no notes in the system but she would check with the vet and they would call me back. No one called. Today is my dogs appointment so I called first thing this morning. I talked to a guy at the front desk, and he tells me that they cannot do the sedation because they need 24-48 hours notice and have my dog fast. I CALLED TWICE LAST WEEK TO HAVE THIS SET UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told the guy that I will find another vet for both my dogs. The vet techs and veterinarians are great here, but the front desk people are completely useless and are the reason they are losing both my dogs as patients.
Dec 09, 2024 · Christopher BramanI have been with Vestal Veterinary for years. They have treated with extreme care a number of my "kids" both canine and feline. They are a top notch animal hospital. My four year old German shepherd is epileptic and Dr. Baker has done so much research working to limit his seizures. The support staff, vet techs are so caring, always helpful and the veterinarians, the best. Dr. Nicole Baker and Dr. Suzanne Smith have treated most of my furry kids since Dr. Laura and Dr. Jeff Shafer retired. I highly recommend the Vestal Veterinary to anyone needing Veterinary assistance. My only wish is one of the local hospitals would go back to having emergency weekend hours.
Apr 22, 2025 · Donna LongoDishonest Business. My dog was seen here for an emergency visit to remove the quills after she attacked a porcupine. I am grateful for the appointment, and they didn't kill my dog- so I am giving them two instead of one star. If you have an emergency and this is the only place you can get in, it's better than nothing. I was told by the vet and receptionist that my dog had a free check up after the quill removal where she was fully sedated. I cancelled the appointment because of car trouble, but was told they would be happy to see her for no added charge when I had my transportation problem resolved. I thought about skipping the check up, but then her face swelled up because a quill was left in her cheek, so I needed to this taken care of. After the visit, they gave me a bill for $70 and said that the free check up was never promised. I heard both the veterinarian and receptionist tell me she had a free check up coming, I didn't create this idea in my imagination. I think the vet tech told me this as well, but I am certain that at least two employees made this promise, maybe three. They basically called me a liar. I stuck with them for the cheek problem and regret it. They charged me $500 for removing the quill they failed to remove the first time, used staples and want me to return for another $70 visit to remove the quill. All together, the costs are around $1600. We went through this once before and were lucky enough to be located near a more honest animal hospital that at least was up front about their fees and used stitches that dissolve instead of staples requiring a second $70 visit. The vets and techs were very nice, and this business could have had both my dogs as lifelong patients had the manager at least been willing to admit that their employees had misrepresented the policy, and had honored what I had been told or given me some sort of break on the last visit. While she didn't say anything rude, the manager had a hostile tone and made me very uncomfortable. The rest of the staff were professional and pleasant.

My senior kitty is friendly with everyone but gets stressed out about the carrier and the vet easily so it was great to have a veterinarian so gentle and sweet with her. Waiting area was clean and the receptionist was friendly. Very clear and transparent with the medical options and prices.
