I would first like to start off by saying THANK YOU to the staff at VEG for being so caring and loving to my dog during a difficult time. I took my dog on a Sunday at midnight to VEG because my dog was not acting like himself. Turns out that a mass on his spleen ruptured and was internally bleeding. The doc that night was sympathetic and honest. She helped us have a smooth transition to another hospital for more in depth information about what was going on with my dog. Long story short my dog ended up having his spleen removed and was transferred to VEG for an overnight stay for close monitoring. The staff that night was amazing too! They kept my dog comfy and kept us informed as well. I live really close to VEG and they had told us to come see my dog, Mikey as many times as we wanted. They would even set up a little place for us to sleep if we decided we didn't want to leave Mikey alone. They have pillows, blankets, a snack station equipped with tea, coffee and snacks. VEG is not only about the immediate care for your fur baby but also putting pet parents mind at ease as well. In case anyone has read this far, my dog is CANCER FREE!! Thank you again to all the wonderful staff we encountered along the way. You are all a blessing and I will be speaking highly of you all. 100% would recommend to anyone seeking emergency care. A picture of Mikey making it to his birthday is included.

Dec 21, 2024 · Alexis BridgetI was sent here with my Pomeranian after visiting a clinic that unfortunately could not help her further as something (big pieces of chicken, I now know) was lodged in her esophagus. I was very afraid given the fact that she was also diagnosed with a heart murmur this night and told she would be high risk for general anesthesia. Although it may sound like a silly issue due to some chicken, I was afraid to lose my girl. I appreciated all the efforts of the previous emergency department and grateful they refereed us to you guys, but the bedside manner is unmatched. I don’t remember everyone’s name that helped and I apologize for that! But all of you were so sweet, efficient, and empathetic. All my questions and concerns were answered. The doctor (Dr. Morrissey I believe as per the text I received) was a sweetheart and very informative. She explained everything thoroughly and gave me time to translate it to my Spanish speaking father. Again something silly, but you’d be surprised how many business become frustrated. This shows such a high regard to cultural competency! The two techs who stayed with Bella when I left were wonderful and treated her with so much love that my fears became minimal and I knew she was in great hands. As weird as this might be to say, godforbid the outcome was different and it were a more severe situation, I think I would give this same review. Overall seeing how you guys treated me, my father, and my dog, I can see genuine passion for the work you do. Thank you so much!
Feb 26, 2025 · Hennesy LoraWhat a wonderful experience. We walked into a quiet emergency room. Everyone was so kind and loving. Dr. Olga gave us so much time and information. Would highly recommend this location for your pet's needs. Being that we were from out of town we needed to see a vet and they welcomed us immediately. Five stars and then some. Siena was very comfortable during the exam. Thank you everyone.
Apr 03, 2025 · Pam K.Update: Hiro’s brother and litter mate, Beau, had gotten impacted with poo earlier today. Thankfully, the staff at VEG ER in Nanuet saved the day. Almost immediately after I brought Beau in, the vet techs and vets got right to work. And as always, they went above and beyond.—Seeing how nervous Beau was, they brought him into a private and quiet area, where he calmed down enough for the poo-related issue to be addressed. He’s now doing well and resting at home Original post: I must give some accolades to VEG in Nanuet. On Christmas morning, my kitten, Hiro, suddenly began acting lethargic, and his back legs struggled to support his weight. The only animal hospital open was VEG. As I was getting ready to head over there, I found one of my high-dose gabapentin capsules on the floor, chewed open and mostly empty. I was quite a wreck when I arrived at VEG, fearing that Hiro might be overdosing. However, the staff was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone—the receptionist, technicians, nurses, and doctors—were incredibly kind to both me and Hiro. Not only did they do their best to accommodate my severe speech impairment from surgery, but they were also completely on top of the situation with Hiro. Before I knew it, they had taken his vitals and set up an IV and catheter. Thankfully, Hiro ended up just fine—extremely relaxed and high AF. Twelve hours later, I was able to bring him back home.
Apr 10, 2025 · Gregg TemnerAfter speaking with the office on the phone, I brought my four year old border collie, Banjo, in to have a cut under his eye looked at. Dr. Tracy and her staff were extremely knowledgeable about what was going on with the cut and gave me all the tools I needed to care for Banjo at home. They made him feel very comfortable and complimented Banjo on his good patient behavior!
