VCA Woodland Animal Hospital

Very nice staff. I wish everyone was on the same page though as far as information. I have my two fur babies going there and will update my review after their neutering 😬 (yikes). I just wish they kept puppies/dogs overnight like they do kittens/cats. Anything can happen after a procedure

EDIT:I was told to email about my concerns but nobody responded to my email so I will not be revising the review I left. MI brought my dog here as a puppy and while the staff is very nice, I’m so disappointed in the consistency of service. My friend brings her dog here and she not only got a gift package for Christmas for her puppy that is a month younger than mine, she received a follow up text on how her dog was doing after receiving several vaccines however I did not get this same text when I paid $330 for 4 vaccines a week prior. I also expressed concern with my dogs toenail and they never followed up. I recommend trying Blue Lake Animal Hospital.

My wife, puppy, and I moved from out of state to the area and knew we needed a new veterinarian office. We were taking our pup to a VCA office in our old state, which we loved and wanted to continue that here. Through the VCA website I was able to find Woodland Animal Hospital (close to our new house) and got our pup an appointment. From the minute we walked in for his first appointment to his continued care, we can tell he is well cared for and even loved by the staff there. His care is just as important as ours and I’m happy we chose VCA Woodland Animal Hospital. Thanks to everyone there. PS - they come highly recommended for any pet owner looking for a veterinary office in the Kentwood, MI area.

An edit to my original review: Christy the office manager reached out to me and cleared up some confusion and we were able to come to an understanding we were both happy with. So I’m updating my review to 5 stars. While I am going to stick with the new vet we are seeing now, I would consider going to VCA Woodland or Knapp in the future. We have been going to VCA since late 2020 with our senior dogs. The first time we saw Dr Ambrose we loved her and we always made our appointments with her. All the other vets are great, sometimes you just really click with a person. After years of seeing just her for check ups, vaccines, random foot licking and eye issues, multiple teeth cleanings and extractions, and finally the death of our oldest dog; I was so disappointed when I called to ask about Dr Ambrose moving to the new location and was told without any emotion I could not transfer my care club for the last few months to see her. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with VCA Woodland and for the first time it felt like all they cared about was collecting my money. I have since found a new vet, who is great with my dogs and much more affordable. I never thought shopping around for vet care was a thing, but I now realize how ridiculously high VCA’s prices are. If they had been willing to work with me, I would have transferred to VCA Knapp and continued to spend top dollar to see Dr Ambrose. So, all of this to say, the level of care is great and I would have continued care at the new location; but I have decided to forfeit the remainder of my care club coverage after receiving no sympathy over our preferred vet moving locations.

VCA Woodland, especially Dr. Galbraith, has been so wonderful while we’ve had a sick pup over the last week!! They responded to texts on the weekend, fit us in for an appointment first thing Monday morning and have text several times after the appointment to see how things are going. Thankfully, our dog is on the mend, but I would have been a nervous wreck if it weren’t for Dr Galbraith at VCA Woodland! Thank you so much!!
