I just want to say thank you to the wonderful staff and in particular to Josie and Dr. Vanderford for how well they take care of my Luna. She is a frequent flyer (馃槱) and always still loves going to the vet. The level of care on follow ups and access to the Dr is nothing like I鈥檝e ever experienced, and feels good to know that they care for her as much as I do!

VCA Westside Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to VCA Westside Animal Hospital, a pet hospital conveniently located at 6034 Broadway St in Pearland, Texas (77581, USA). Operating under the platform category of Pet Hospitals, VCA Westside Animal Hospital aims to serve the local community by offering a range of veterinary services and potentially related goods for the health and well-being of your pets. You can contact them at (281) 485-9840 or +1 281-485-9840.
While specific details about the hospital's environment are not extensively described in the provided reviews, it is reasonable to expect a professional veterinary setting. This typically includes a reception area for clients and their pets, examination rooms where veterinarians can assess animals, and potentially specialized areas for surgery, imaging, and housing for animals requiring more intensive care or observation. Cleanliness and a comfortable atmosphere are usually priorities in such facilities to ensure the well-being of both patients and their owners.
Based on the limited customer feedback available, we can infer several services offered by VCA Westside Animal Hospital:
- General Veterinary Care: The positive review mentioning "how well they take care of my Luna" suggests that the hospital provides general veterinary services, including check-ups and care for recurring health issues. The fact that Luna is a "frequent flyer" implies ongoing management of her health concerns.
- Vaccinations: The negative review explicitly mentions receiving rabies shots for two dogs, indicating that vaccination services are part of their offerings. Vaccinations are a crucial aspect of preventative care for pets, protecting them from various infectious diseases.
- Parasite Prevention: The same negative review also notes receiving flea prevention treatment for two dogs. This highlights that the hospital provides preventative medications to protect pets against common external parasites like fleas.
- Follow-up Care: The positive review praises the "level of care on follow ups," suggesting that VCA Westside Animal Hospital prioritizes monitoring and continued care for their patients after initial consultations or treatments.
- Access to Veterinarian: The reviewer also mentions excellent "access to the Dr," indicating that clients can readily communicate with the veterinarians regarding their pet's health and treatment plans. This accessibility can contribute significantly to a positive client experience and better pet care.
Features of VCA Westside Animal Hospital appear to include a friendly and caring staff, as highlighted in the positive review. The reviewer specifically thanks Josie and Dr. Vanderford, suggesting individual staff members are recognized for their excellent service. The emphasis on follow-up care and accessibility to the veterinarian indicates a commitment to comprehensive patient management and client communication.
However, the negative review points out a significant concern regarding the cost of services. The reviewer mentions a $101 "walk-in" fee and an almost $500 charge for rabies shots and flea prevention for two dogs, which they deemed "insanely priced," leading them to seek veterinary care elsewhere. This suggests that while the staff may be friendly, the pricing structure might be a deterrent for some pet owners. Additionally, the long wait time experienced by this reviewer ("an hour past your appointment time") indicates potential issues with scheduling or patient flow management.
Promotional information is not provided in the given text. Veterinary hospitals may sometimes offer introductory discounts for new clients, package deals for routine services, or seasonal promotions. To obtain information about any current promotions at VCA Westside Animal Hospital, it would be necessary to contact them directly or check their website, if available.
Based on the limited reviews, VCA Westside Animal Hospital seems to have a friendly and caring staff who provide good follow-up care and ensure client access to the veterinarian. This can contribute to a positive experience for pet owners who value these aspects of veterinary service. However, potential clients should be aware of the reported high initial consultation fee and potentially high prices for certain routine services like vaccinations and parasite prevention. The reported significant wait time is also a factor to consider.
It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and may not be fully representative of the overall service quality and pricing at VCA Westside Animal Hospital. Pet owners considering this hospital should perhaps inquire about their fee structure for common services upfront and discuss any concerns they may have regarding appointment wait times. Getting a clear understanding of the costs involved can help avoid unexpected expenses.
In conclusion, VCA Westside Animal Hospital in Pearland, TX, is a pet hospital that appears to have a dedicated and friendly staff, providing services such as general care, vaccinations, and parasite prevention, with a focus on follow-up and accessibility to the veterinarian. However, potential clients should be aware of reports indicating potentially high costs for services and significant wait times for appointments. Local users are advised to consider these factors and potentially inquire further about pricing and appointment procedures before choosing VCA Westside Animal Hospital for their pet care needs.

Oct 03, 2024 路 AbiolaThe staff is really friendly, but its basically $101 just to walk in the door... and then have you wait in a room for an hour past your appointment time. Almost $500 for 2 dogs, for just a rabies shot and flea prevention is INSANELY priced. We decided to go somewhere else.
Mar 25, 2025 路 Kristin SchlomachHighly recommend VCA westside! Bo always loves going and seeing the friendly staff. They consistently take such great care of him. So thankful for the puppy plan membership! Dr. Vanderford was so knowledgeable, helpful and informative. The exam was very thorough and it's evident that he truly cares about your fur baby. Miranda is always very helpful to ensure the best vet experience and the reason we travel from an hour away to come to this vca location. 5 star experience!
Oct 12, 2023 路 Alexis AustinWorst vet I have ever been too. I took my 13 year old dachshund to get put down. Very sick. They declined and told me to get a $200 blood test, medication, then come back and get another $200 blood test. Money over well being. Her quality of life was gone, and never returning. My dog was the best, led the best life and all of that was gone. She suffered because of these people. I will never forget that. Despicable.
Nov 21, 2024 路 Paul NehusLast time here, this isn鈥檛 Dr Campbell鈥檚 kind of place. I鈥檓 pretty sure the last time I was here they lied about a major issue and charged me $700. The dog apparently this time has no heart murmur 馃檮 $1100 for an x-ray and bloodwork for a dog is ridiculous. I just had x- rays for $200, and bloodwork is about $135 for a human. I will never be back here.
