My regular vet on Sundays was closed and I needed to have ER attention for my cat. I was really wavering about this and trying to hold on for another 24 hours to see my regular vet as past experiences made me feel untrustworthy about the care and advice that I would get at one of the 24 hour ER veterinarian clinics. I called several places and got advice from Other local veterinarians and based my decision on that as well as how the reception staff handled my call. I settled on this VCA as n Woodland Hills. AND I am so glad to have had Dr. Hutchinson today at VCA. The staff were kind. The waiting room was clean and calm. Dr. Hutchinson worked with me on pricing and accommodations for my various options. Never an easy decision! But most of all she was extremely thorough and compassionate. Talking to me for a long time about the details of my cats condition and my options. I am so glad to have an emergency care vet that I can trust and feel that my emotional state is cared for as well! Which is always a thing when you’re dealing with pets in an emergency. Thank you! My baby boy and I are headed home now.

All they want is money. No compassion. I would have received better assistance if I walked into a McDonald's and asked them to help my dog. I only went here because it's one of the only oncology vets nearby. I was still going to go back after paying almost $2k for an infusion because my dog couldn't start chemo yet. When I called a few days later and asked the doctor to please start Laverdia to tied us over until we could start chemo, they wanted me to come in and pay even more money to dispense the medications when it's an at-home medication to dispense. They wanted me to pay for more blood tests and another UA when she had just had them done 10 days prior at our primary vet. Despite my better judgment I was still going to go here when her biopsy wound healed to start chemo but now NO WAY. I called to ask the doctor a question and they told me my dog isn't his patient because I went back to our primary vet to get the bridge medication so I can SAVE HER LIFE before she could start the chemo. Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars and don't care how you are treated, go here. If you want compassion, empathy, and not to be financially raped then tossed out, stay away. I will be getting her chemo injection treatment elsewhere now when she can start. You guys just lost a ton of money you could have squeezed out of me but good riddance. Horrible place. Even the experience going there left me in tears in the parking lot calling my regular vet telling them to just put my dog down because I was so discouraged and felt the darkest energy from this place. If you love your pet, like LOVE your baby, go someplace else. I don't even want to give them 1 star. Couldn't even answer my question after giving money for an injection I'm not even sure she received. Just because I needed to start working with my primary vet in the interim. This place disgusts me.

I have mixed feelings. My primary vet suggested I take my cat here to meet with an internist. That visit with Dr Chan and his team was great however I needed to follow up and that has been a horrible experience. I first time I called they put me on hold and after 20 minutes it went to voicemail. I called back in the morning, asked my question and they said someone would get back to me. 5 hours later I called again and was told I would get a return call by the end of the day. No return call!

This review is for Dr. Topmiller and the techs who assisted us with the very difficult decision of saying goodbye to our senior dog on July 8th. She was suffering from a rare and aggressive autoimmune disease, and we initially only came in that day to get a consultation. We did not expect to receive that dire prognosis, the same day. Dr. Topmiller was extremely thorough and very empathetic to our situation. The advice and knowledge we received helped us make peace with letting her go. Preserving our loved one’s quality of life was our utmost priority. Thank you for keeping our Luna comfortable in her final hours, and for the handwritten card from the team. Our family deeply appreciates the care and professionalism we’ve encountered from this clinic during this time.
