VCA St. Clair Shores Animal Hospital

The staff is awesome here. They took great care of my handsome boy as a first time customer here. He's a bit shy going to the vet but they made him as comfortable as possible throughout the process of him getting updated on his shots. I recommend this place for anyone with a fur baby

Pros: Super sweet people. Appointments available (I got one for 5:20pm) Vet was very good and cared a lot Con: The prices are high. It's $86 just for an exam with the doctor.

I typically don't write reviews, however, my experience at VCA in St. Clair Shores was truly amazing so I had to share. I had to make an emergency visit to VCA when my 13 lbs. Chihuahua, Winnie jumped off my bed and landed the wrong way. She was in such pain she couldn't walk or stand; she was shaking and crying- I assumed she broke her legs. VCA is not my normal vet, however it was 5:30 on Friday and my vet was closed or would have been by the time we got there. I walked into VCA with no appointment, not even a phone call to let them know we were on our way. From the moment I walked in everyone was so kind. They were short staffed and had no appointments available, however they were kind enough to squeeze us in. Candy and Dr. Grate were AMAZING!!!! Dr. Grate did an exam and took xrays and thankfully nothing was broken or even sprained. Winnie is doing great and I have Candy and Dr. Grate to thank! I highly recommend VCA! Again, thank you Candy and Dr. Grate!!!! Erika & Winnie

For the most part they are really nice, but bad rushed experience when my cat had to be euthanized. I got a doctor that day who was from another clinic, that was unfortunate. She didn’t know cat or me. And I was rushed to euthanize her by this doctor “so she doesn’t suffer anymore” and she told me she would begin to twitch soon, and was not coming back from this, her words. I was then rushed after when I wanted time to say goodbye even though she wasn’t alive anymore. They said after I could have as much time as I wanted, but I wasn’t given that. It’s only forever I’ll never see her again now. I think of this every time I go there. Even though the regular doctor took time to talk to me and address my concerns after, and offered me a payment plan for my expenses due to my negative experience when my cat was euthanized.

This vet office is one of my go-to specialists, they took amazing care of my Star !! She had just given birth in February, I rescued her & the kittens, & very knowledgeable... Gave me some great advice even for my kittens that they haven't seen with a great care plan for mama to keep them healthy as well!

This place is awesome I made a terrible mistake I posted a bad message about this place these ppl have always went out the way fir my pets so please forgive my mistake 😊 however I need to brag on everyone who works from the head person to the receptionist they are awesome to the 10th power take pets and fall in live with the facility as well as the staff 😀 😊 😄 ☺️ 🙂 ❤️
