VCA Southside Animal Hospital

I received a call from this place to schedule my complementary visit after adopting my new kitten. I went ahead and scheduled the appt since they called me. The lady on the phone said that I could bring my medical records in with me but they preferred to have them emailed so that’s what I did. When I get to the hospital the receptionist seemed very cold and rude and when she asked for my kitties name she couldn’t find her at first because they didn’t update her name like I asked when I spoke to them on the phone. I get called back to the room a few minutes later and tech asked if I had her medical records and I told her I sent them via email. She says she will go see if they can find them. Then she comes back and says their email is down so they can’t get the records and they can’t honor the free visit without the certificate given by the humane society anyway. This was really frustrating to me considering I was never told I had to have the certificate with me in order to honor it and THEY were the ones who said they wanted her records via email. So I wasted an hour and a half of my day and stressed out my scared kitten for no reason. They told me to reschedule but I went ahead and just scheduled at a different location.

****Update**** Unfortunately we will have to find a new clinic to take my fur babies ......after years of coming here, the change in staff and techs has subsided so I will be taking my loved ones to Tempe Veterinary Clinic per recommendation from a previous staff member at this clinic.......First time doing this so if there's a boo-boo sorry I mean to give you five amazing stars. I really appreciate the way you care for my little ones. from clipping their nails or having a procedure done you thoroughly explain the reason. Your office is so thoughtful, so caring.Thank you for everything.

The service provided by the vet tech was wonderful! Super kind and gentle with my cat. While prices are a bit steep it’s just the cost of doing business.

This place seriously warms my heart. My biggest gratitude goes towards Joe, Jenessa, Dr. Evans and Dr. Weinstein. I have taken my little one for shots, check-ups and recently, when he was not feeling well. To start off Jenessa went out of her way to make sure I got in as soon as possible, and, to a worrying dog-mom, that meant everything. Joe's knowledge is out of this world! He is very good with animals and you can tell his genuine love is there. He explained everything so well and gave me literally all the information I needed to know. Furthermore, he even followed up by checking in to see how my dog was doing and make sure the treatment was working. Both Dr. Evans and Dr. Weinstein are very kind and great at what they do. My dog, my family, and I could not be more grateful with them for helping our dog get all better.

EDIT: Southside used to be the best, but ever since whatever company bought them, they've gone into a nosedive. Took one of our hounds there recently and they couldn't even be bothered to call us back...THREE TIMES!! DESPITE SPENDING ALMOST 600 BUCKS!! There are still some great people there, but this place is barely a memory of what it used to be. I do NOT recommend. Original review from YEARS ago: Southside is our absolute go-to. We have retired racing greyhounds and they are the best in town for the hounds. They don't just work with hounds, though! We brought our Boston Terriers here, too. They're awesome with all breeds and HIGHLY recommended!
