Total scam they do not care about your animals all they care about is money. A few years back i took my dog in for a check up and they said she needed a deep teeth cleaning. They gave her too much antihistamine and she passed away. Broke our family’s hearts and said that unfortunately “this happens sometimes”. In what world is that okay. A few days ago my family-friend had an emergency and took her dog in and he had an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Instead of examining him they just took so many different blood tests which ended up being quite expensive, just for them to say it was a bee sting. Sad to say they haven’t gotten better and please take your animals somewhere else.

Avoid this place at all costs. VCA Rossmoor-El Dorado Animal Hospital – Los Alamitos, CA I had an extremely disappointing experience at VCA Animal Hospital, and I would never recommend this place to any pet owner who genuinely cares about their animal's well-being. Customer Service: 0/10 From the moment I arrived, the staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Despite having an appointment, the only male staff member at the front desk was half-asleep and incredibly rude. As a paying customer, I expected at least a basic level of respect and professionalism, especially after driving over an hour to get there with my cat. Instead, I was treated as if I was inconveniencing them. Communication: 1/10 Once I was brought into the exam room, I had to repeat my cat’s medical history multiple times to different staff members—none of them seemed to communicate with each other. The first nurse rudely cut me off mid-sentence, making it clear she was either in a rush or simply not interested in hearing the details of my cat’s condition. Then, the veterinarian came in, and I had to start the story all over again for the fourth time. How can they provide proper medical care when they don’t even listen to their clients? Handling of My Pet: 0/10 This was one of the worst parts of my visit. The way the staff handled my cat was completely unacceptable. When they attempted to take her temperature, they were twisting and scooping the thermometer around aggressively, making it look incredibly painful. Despite this rough and unnecessary treatment, they failed to get a proper reading. No professional veterinarian should handle an animal this way. Pricing & Transparency: 1/10 After all that, they came back with an outrageous bill exceeding $1,200—and that was just the starting cost for basic tests like a blood sample and urine check. They avoided answering my questions and instead focused solely on upselling unnecessary services. Even a simple nail trim and consultation cost me $200, which is beyond unreasonable. After leaving, I did some research and discovered that many of the tests they wanted to overcharge me for can be done at home with affordable alternatives from AMAZON, dozens of different items starting at just $20. It’s clear that this clinic prioritizes profit over pet care and has no genuine interest in helping animals. The final straw was the sheer disrespect. The nurse who came to take my cat for the nail trim was incredibly rude and nearly dropped her while handling the carrier. It felt like she deliberately didn’t want to touch me, as if I was beneath her. Being a man doesn’t mean I don’t deserve the same level of courtesy and respect as any other customer. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any professional setting. Overall, this hospital is an absolute disgrace. They lack compassion, communication, and basic human decency. If you value your pet’s well-being and your own sanity, avoid this place at all costs. Overall Experience: 0/10 • Unprofessional and rude staff • Horrible communication • Rough and painful handling of my cat • Overpriced services that can be done for a fraction of the cost elsewhere • No real concern for pets, only money I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. They need to be evaluated by higher authorities, as their behavior and treatment of both animals and customers are completely unacceptable. If you value your pet’s well-being and don’t want to be scammed, go elsewhere.

VCA Rossmoor is truly exceptional! My family has taken our dogs here for nearly 20 years. They have made the inevitable highs and lows of caring for a pet a little easier. Every doctor we've worked with has been fantastic, from the late Dr. Heit to Dr. Cassel, Dr. Glasser, Dr. Camacho, and, more recently, Dr. Boyker, Dr. Hartwick, and Dr. Hasselbrink. This year, Dr. Boyker did a fantastic job cleaning my dog's teeth, and making for a low-stress experience. Dr. Hartwick and Dr. Hasselbrink showed incredible compassion and attention to detail in their care for my parents' senior pugs. The tech staff consistently show genuine care and dedication, and the front office team is always courteous, even with the challenges they face daily. Keep up the great work!

Took my kitten to the vet the staff at the desk are argumentative and don’t know much about anything. The doctor denied my kitten prescription talking about no vet client relationship or something like that. Which is ridiculous cause he gave the prescription and doesn’t want to give medication for fleas. Very over priced the vca my care is a scam to get more $$$$$. I don’t have really anything nice to say. Cat had diarrhea and the stuff he prescribed didn’t work at all. End up researching and found some stuff on Amazon that worked 10x better than the crap he gave me. Choose another vca cause this one SUCKS UNPROFESSIONAL IS A UNDERSTATEMENT

Just wanted to thank Dr. Camacho and team for taking care of my beloved boy, Woody. The only pup I had that actually loved going to the vet-speaks volumes for the staff.

3 words: Incompetent, Overpriced, & Unprofessional. I took my cat there twice because of the symptoms he was showing (e.g., not eating alot). They checked him over both times and said nothing was wrong. Specifically, they looked in his mouth for anything wrong. A couple months later, I took him to another vet (Alamitos Animal Hospital - 5/5). They looked in his mouth and immediately knew what was wrong with him. They said he had cancer. It could have been delt with a couple of months earlier. These people are really cruel because either they knew he had cancer and lied or were completely incompetent. There really aren't any other options. He has now passed away and it is my loss, and I have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. I know I should have taken him to another vet., but I trusted their 'professional' opinion. At the end of the day, I am not the one with a professional degree and a license as a veterinarian. That's what I am paying for, which is way more expensive than the place I go now (Alamitos Animal Hospital). I would like it if they, at a minimum, lost their licenses and never did business again. Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend going here.
