This was my first time going to this vet. My vet was booked a week out and my dog was in pain after going to a groomer. VCA Prestonwood got me in quickly and was amazing with my dog. They were kind and curious to my family and were so thorough and loving with my dog. Before completing any services, I was given an estimate so there were no surprises.

Jun 26, 2024 · Meredith GraeberThis is hands down the best vet experience I have ever had and I will definitely be coming back in the future. I was very unhappy at my last veterinary, they were so focused on what more they could sell me, and then upsell me, it was very disingenuous. However my experience at Prestonwood Animal Clinic has been the exact opposite. Dr. Jacob Walsh takes better care of my animals than my own primary care physicians take care of me and I trust him entirely! Whatever treatment is needed I’ve never felt like a commodity or paycheck to him(or his lovely staff) and I appreciate the detailed explanations for what treatments are needed, how much that will cost, and what alternatives we have- it makes it very easy to make an educated decision for your animal. My previous vet never told me first and you just hope when you’re done it’s not 800+ at the front desk- now that I’ve experienced such fairly priced and excellent quality care Mama(my dog) and I are never going back to anyone else again!
Jan 15, 2025 · Kase KernI am so disappointed at this veterinary practice. I have come here with all my cats since 2011 and Dr. Matthew Taylor was an absolute jewel - always so kind to the pets, always got down on the floor with them to be at their level. Most importantly, he provided common sense advice and solutions that were in line with my beliefs about pet care. For example, when one of my most beloved cats developed chronic kidney disease, he recommended moderate treatment and supported my belief that prolonged and complicated care did not necessarily result in the best quality of life, especially for a 17 yr. old. The last time I took in my healthy Bengal, the doctor pushed for heartworm treatment even though he is an indoor pet and recommended teeth cleaning, both at exorbitant costs. I've had 20+ cats in my lifetime and none ever had teeth cleaning and all have lived to 10+ years, and as long as 21 years. In addition, their fees have also increased. I feel one of VCA's primary practices is to maximize their profit without regard for common sense. This is no reflection on their front office staff who are always pleasant and courteous. I miss Dr. Taylor greatly.
Feb 12, 2025 · A McCormickWhen my pet died he was honestly like my best friend, I was devastated absolutely just didn’t want to get out of bed so depressed and didn’t know where to bury her at. She was a member of the family I couldn’t just throw her in the trashcan and because I live in an apartment complex I could exactly bury her in the backyard either. It was just another devastating blow that I didn’t know how to handle. This pet Hospital is in walking distance from where I live and I pass it every day so I thought maybe I would go in and ask if they knew what the laws were here in Houston about burying a pet. They were extremely kind and understanding. They offered to cremate her and let us have the ashes. It was much more affordable than I thought it would be. And they were just so extremely kind and empathetic that I really wish I had come here sooner. I highly recommend this clinic for all your domestic pet needs.
Aug 08, 2022 · Hillary MarekMy first time going, and everyone was pleasant. But I had some lab work done for my dog and I was told id get a phone call the next day.... It's been 5 business days now, and I've called twice. The vet refuses to get back to me.... Edit: I was called and apologized for the lateness of the results, maybe in the future they'll improve communication. But I appreciate the apology.
