VCA Pacific Petcare Animal Hospital

I have been going to VCA Pacific Petcare for about 15 years. My dog (JP) has had some complex health issues. The staff have all been very caring , but Dr. Salerno has been absolutely amazing. My dog’s health issues have been complicated and extremely stressful for me. Dr. Salerno is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She treats my dog with love and compassion. She has been working closely with my dog’s veterinary dermatologist to figure out the best way to treat him. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Salerno. She’s the best vet my dog has ever had. My dog loves her and I feel like he’s getting the best care possible. Dr. Salerno is awesome and I’m very lucky to have her diagnose and treat my dog.

I love living so close to this vet clinic. The staff are so unbelievably sweet and helpful and do their best to accommodate your needs even though I know they are always swamped. I've also never met a single vet that cares as much as Dr. Salerno (and I've moved around a lot). She's so good with my cat. She has helped her a lot. I also really appreciate that if there's something Dr. Salerno is uncertain about, she will do some research and touch base with other colleagues/mentors in a more speciality field and get back to me instead of give me inaccurate information or just not follow up. She works around the clock for her patients (I'm in there often enough I see how much she cares for all of them equally). I realize no vet will ever be perfect and not every pet problem will get resolved as soon as we'd all like, but I do know there's no better vet to have on your side than one that truly cares about your pet and their heath.

Tried calling. Says they are open but when you are calling you’re sent to automated voice messaging system that they’re open Mon-Fri. On Monday, I call. They said they would call me back. Never did. So I had to call again. Gabriel Salerno is a scammer. After my physical exam, they tell me that their medication in stock is expired so I was unable to get the medication for my pet. The prescription is useless. Also, the prescription had my pet at 4lbs. He is currently 11lbs. Another error on their side so they printed another prescription with 11lbs. They told me “oh just go to a local pharmacy”. I went to CVS, Ralph’s, Rite Aid. All out of stock or they don’t have that kind of suspension and unable to fill the prescription. I call another VCA to see if they can fill the prescription instead. They are unable to because that doesn’t comply with California law so they would need to do ANOTHER physical exam just to give me the same exact prescription. I already did two physical exams and the first VCA did not give me enough so I did another physical and they had the expired stock so no medication given at all. JUST ANOTHER USELESS PHYSICAL THAT I DID NOT NEED. I just need the medication which they could have told me before I had to do another physical exam. They also did not email me the forms I need about the visit. I’ve been waiting for their email to submit my claim to the insurance. The other urgent care VCA emailed me, so I know it is not an email I missed by accident. Front desk is amazing though. Was honest enough to tell me that the approval form was just sitting on the vet’s desk. Still waiting for approval 🙃 so that I can order the medication online… just more delays because of the scammer.

Amazing and quality service. Dr Aybar is the most professional and knowledgeable vet I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She explains everything thoroughly and with grace. She didn’t push for treatment that I didn’t feel comfortable with, and she showed me the cost of everything as we were discussing it. She provided different treatment plan options and gave me all the information to make an informed decision. On top of that, she follows up with her patients. The VCA staff are incredibly sweet and personable. I’d recommend them 100x over. They take great care of my animals!

Dr. Salerno is the best! She is communicative, great follow up. She researched on her own time my dog Penny's issue and with her skill Penny's condition has improved 100%. To just show her strong work ethic, this is going on while they are short a doctor who is on maternity leave. We are thankful to have Dr. Salerno as our vet and I hope VCA recognizes how lucky they are to have her on their team.
