Came here in December 2024 after receiving sub par care at another facility. They issue spotted exactly what my basenji needed, and while his care was beyond what this facility could do, Dr. Oberman got us referred to the best place for our dog's care. We made more progress in one 30 minute appointment than we had in 3 months of appointments elsewhere. Very much worth the time and I will be back with other pets!! I'm so thankful for their time and attention!

Jan 12, 2025 · Jamie Rose***I do not recommend going here if you need any sort of mass removal concern for cancer.**** I have a three and half year old dog who came here mainly for yearly visits as he was thankfully healthy in which we saw Dr. Oberman who was warm and friendly. Unfortunately, we scheduled with Dr. Kinneman when he was unavailable regarding a lump on my dog's front leg. Upon looking at it she discussed that our options were needle aspiration, surgical biopsy, or full removal. She right away was leaning towards a "$2,715" surgery without knowing what the mass was. I expressed that I worked in neuro-oncology in nursing and that I didn't want surgery unless it was needed for something harmful. We went with a needle aspiration for which Dr. Kinneman mainly saw blood and was not able to identify the cells and therefore recommended sending to an outside pathologist. We sent this out for a visit and lab fee of $500.00 A week later we received a text (not a phone call) that said "Ollie's cytology results are back and they think this is possibly a hystiocytoma which is a benign growth". We were told to continue monitoring for now feeling relieved there was no sign of cancer. I asked for cytology results which were never sent even after asking for this three times and was only sent the vet's assessment which was just bloody cells. My dog's growth became ulcerated two months later. We seeked another vet's quote which was 1/3 the cost of VCA for surgical removal. The biopsy results came back as cancerous soft tissue sarcoma. We are devestated that the send out results from VCA were completely inaccurate. We were not told there was still a chance of cancer. We called to discuss this further and warn them that the pathologist was completely wrong and were told they would look into a refund for us. Dr. Kinneman called my fiancé and said, "Your wife, girlfriend or whatever seemed to be knowledgeable in oncology and was comfortable with our approach" First of all I'm not a vet and that's why we went with your recommendation post-aspiration to monitor as pathology seemed in favor of a benign growth. Secondly, it is not my expertise to read between the lines of a text with results where you list a singular diagnosis. Although you may think you are being concrete in your texts you should have called and discussed that the cytology was not fully conclusive. She continued to speak over my fiance and state "we followed the correct protocol and I don't know what else you want me to say". "I don't decide pricing". After he explained that our dog now requires a second surgery because their results were completely incorrect she later said "I don't understand the issue" to which he said "my dog has cancer". The bottom line was that she simply didn't care or have concerns that whichever pahtologist they contract with could be so incorrect. After receiving the cytology report today (two months later) she should have been concerned about cancer given the report of spinde cells. My dog requires a second surgery now with anesthesia to remove further tissue as the cytology report was completely wrong. We paid $500.00 to waste our time and money only to be led in the wrong direction. There was no empathy, accountability, or any sort of customer service and my dog has now been living with cancer for two additional months. I pray that this doesn't happen to anyone else and that you seek vets who pick up the phone to make sure you understand your pet's results if they aren't definitive and push for further intervention if needed.
Jul 19, 2024 · Nicole BallardHad a great experience with all of the staff at VCA Orchard. We were able to quickly get an appointment for our new puppy. The staff was super friendly and clearly really loved dogs, gave us treats and toys to leave with and great advice as new dog owners.
Nov 08, 2023 · Brooke MartinDr Kerr and the whole Vca team are amazing. My dog has been their patient source the day we adopted her, and going anywhere else is always a let down. Our vet has knowledge about both sighthounds and raw diets, which can sometimes be tricky, but she's always on top of things. (even when our dog decides to get hurt or of state, she and the team are on top of her follow up!) Thanks for being the best!!
Jan 06, 2024 · Caitlin CraigDr. Kerr is the best vet around -- she takes care of our dogs as if they are her own. Our dogs have had some weird things over the years, and Dr. Kerr always figures out what it is and helps make a plan. We're there monthly to get prescriptions and for checkups, and Kim and the rest of the team are great!
