VCA Old Trail Is definitely our only choice in the area for veterinarian services. Dr. L and Kim do a fabulous job with each of our pets. We have been going to them for over five years through five different dogs. They have always been compassionate when our dogs have been at their worst and always kind. They are always there when we need them

Customer reviews for VCA Old Trail Animal Hospital present a mixed picture of the services provided. One long-term customer expresses strong satisfaction, stating that VCA Old Trail is their only choice in the area for veterinarian services. They specifically commend Dr. L and Kim for their fabulous work with their five dogs over five years, highlighting their compassion and kindness during difficult times and their consistent availability when needed.
In stark contrast, another reviewer describes their experience as "completely unprofessional and incompetent," strongly advising others not to take their pets to this hospital. This negative review raises serious concerns about the standard of care and professionalism at VCA Old Trail Animal Hospital.
A third reviewer details a concerning first-time visit. They brought their dog for an X-ray and an Addison's disease injection, following a diagnosis at another hospital. While the X-ray results were clear, the reviewer experienced a lack of communication and initiative from the medical staff regarding the scheduled injection. They recount having to repeatedly inquire about the treatment, ultimately leading to the receptionist administering the injection in the waiting room, assisted by a nurse who had previously dismissed the reviewer's concerns. This reviewer found the experience "super sketchy and weird" and deemed it completely unprofessional, vowing not to return and urging others to avoid the clinic.
Given these conflicting and concerning reviews, particularly the unprofessional conduct described during one patient's visit, it is difficult to provide a definitive assessment of the environment, services, and features of VCA Old Trail Animal Hospital. While one long-term customer praises the compassionate care, the recent negative experiences, especially regarding communication and the administration of treatment, should give potential new clients pause. There is no information available regarding specific promotional offers.
Prospective clients should carefully consider these recent customer experiences when choosing a "Pet Hospital" for their beloved animals in the Glen Rock area and may want to seek further information or alternative options before making a decision.

Jan 27, 2025 · Andrew SupaCompletely unprofessional and incompetent! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE This was my first time visiting this vet office. I took my dog in for an X-ray and injection since he was diagnosed with Addisons disease the previous day at another hospital. Dr. Lucas took the X-ray and showed me the results. My dog was all clear and good to go. They took me back to the room before saying bye. I said, what aren’t you going to do anything for the Addisons disease? The nurse said, oh let me speak with Dr. Lucas again. The nurse came back and said bye. I said, is there a reason you can’t do the shot today? The nurse stood there in silence. Super sketchy and weird if you ask me. Then I went out to the receptionist desk. Bless these ladies. They need a raise! I talked with them. They were able to read through my dogs diagnosis and current medications. They asked a different doctor if it was ok to give my dog the injection today and they said yes. So the receptionist comes out to do the injection with the nurse that brushed me off earlier. The RECEPTIONIST did the injection in the WAITING ROOM while the nurse held my dog. That is completely unprofessional. These receptionists do not get paid enough to put up with this from both Dr. Lucas and that nurse. This was my first and last time going there. I’m disappointed they treat their new patients like this. I would never go back and I urge you not to.
Jan 25, 2025 · Anna LaffeyWe took our rescue dog to VCA old trail animal hospital for a wellness exam following his adoption. We received a free exam certificate from the shelter for this visit, and were able to schedule a next day appointment online which was EXTREMELY convenient. Everyone at the office was wonderful - we were seen by the veterinarian within 10 minutes of check in. Dr. Lukacs was so kind, and answered every question we had. Highly recommend this office.
Sep 12, 2024 · Shane & Jennifer BracewellAbsolutely disappointed in the experience. They now mandate “tests” before any medication in what should be a simple visit & Rx. Simple eye or ear infection- ends up being $400 for a “test”. Absolutely unnecessary and should be avoided. This same issue happened with other dogs over the years, resulting in a vet giving you meds and charges for a visit. Not here. Take you over the coals in this rough economy for an unnecessary and subjective “test”. ALMOST $400 for a basic ear or eye infection at this place with their “tests” or they won’t give medication. AVOID
Jan 20, 2025 · RUSTiK IncA bit pricey but they’re probably the best veterinary office anywhere near here, so unless you’re willing to drive an hour into MD I haven’t found any place better, closer. Everyone is very nice, appointments are pretty easy to get, and they have almost every medicine you could need in stock. The new kitten package is their best deal and we’ve used that on both of our cats. Just be aware it may cover unlimited exams but if you need extra medicine or X-rays that’s not covered.
