VCA Northwood Animal Hospital

Our 17 year old cat Smokey has been an insulin dependent diabetic for 5 years. He became very sick over the past month and we had to make the difficult decision to end his pain yesterday. Dr. Ford was so kind. Everyone was so nice and they took us back into a room right away. Thank you so much for helping us. 💗

Just a forward statement, I am not someone to usually write things like this or act like a Karen but I feel other should be aware of this. Only reason for the two stars, is the actual vet was decent and straight forward with me, along with the front desk lady being nice. The vet tech with longer hair thats a guy literally grabbed the leash from my dog, and drug her into the back room to get the lepto vaccine booster that they insisted she have, after our initial free visit from the Animal Protection League adoption that we did last month. I have dealt with the VCA before and my former girlfriend used to work at a VCA, so I know their tactics. 5 minutes after I left with my dog she puked all over my lap and my truck. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but they then told me to bring her back and they would examine her, to the tune of nearly $200. Not going to happen and not getting sales pitched into falling for that, nor did I feel like its my responsibility when my dog came in happy and tail wagging in perfectly good health. Will be using our family vet that we use for our entire farm moving forward. Money is what drives this place, dont actually care about a single animal that goes through those doors. Dont fall for their sales pitches they just want you to open your wallet up.👎

I do like this place but not their charges. When giving an estimate it should include all of their plan, not going in for a bandage change and being charged another $250+. They catered to me on the worst day of my life so far losing my soul dog and helped my cat recently too, so I cannot recommend to not go, just be prepared for the cost.

Updated: (ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Since you can't seem to find it, here's my proof. For starters, I have my name,.the dog and your business right here. And I returned in-person twice to see about any advice or anything. After your recommendation and surgery didn't work. And was told not without another "paid" visit.) 1 star only cause I had too. Very disappointed with the care and consideration I was given. I returned to this clinic after South Anderson couldn't treat or even diagnose my dogs condition. I praised these people for past visits with them and really thought my dog would receive treatment. Unfortunately I only got my dog spayed and chipped for over $700. (Supposedly with her symptoms, getting spayed may fix it). Well it DID NOT. I returned hoping for a follow up or some information and was told, "they cannot do anything without another appointment" with an estimate of another $700. I do not have alot of extra money, which i explained. The last clinic totaled 3 visits and $2000 with no help. They told me, "find another vet clinic that's cheaper." I have been to 3 vet clinics in Anderson, IN and only thing I have learned is their only about the money. Basically a legalized ponzi scheme. These people have never even called to check on my dog or anything. Anyone who reads this, hope your animal gets the care it needs. My dog has only got worse. Thanks

Charged me 138.00 to tell me the same thing I told them. They were upset I refused their quote of 1400.00 for a few stitches needed for my dog. More or less demanded 138 to bring my dog back out....rude assistant. Middletown animal hospital did the work for 236.90. They said....well....We are a emergency hospital, I said no...you're a clinic that's open on a weekend. How do they sleep gouging pet owners
