VCA Northeast Animal Hospital

Hands down the best veterinarian I've ever had. After a stressful day at the Emergency Pet hospital I brought my dog for a follow up. We were treated with so much compassion and respect it was heartwarming. The vet tech and vet were knowledgeable and addressed all of our concerns. Thank you VCA NE Animal Hospital for taking care of my fur baby AND taking the time to make sure I understood and was comfortable with his care. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! I cant thank you enough. He's not only my dog, but he's my second son, my son(whos an only child) little big brother and best friend. My only complaint would be they referred to him as a "senior" dog. LOL. Seriously the best vet you can find in GR.

When is the zero star going to become a thing?! These people do NOT, I repeat, do NOT care about your pets. They are in it for MONEY only. If you get a dog from Humane Society and they offer you a "free" health evaluation from this place, word of advice, just go to your regular vet! It will be much cheaper. They tell you it's free but then charge for absolutely everything. The price is astronomical as well. It would be one thing if they explained that certain things will cost like the fecal examination or that the two shots of fly vaccine will BOTH caused around $100+ but they don't! They don't inform you until you get there and they're about to proceed! Very deceitful and I recommend you take your pet anywhere else

Wonderful doctors and techs, pleasant atmosphere. Just wish they had made it clear that if you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, (my first offense!) they will turn you away. That's harsh in the winter when you have a 5:30 spot and the downtown GR traffic is insane during events. I arrived 20 minutes late and even though I gave them 30 heads up with a phone call, they wouldn't take us.

We boarded our 2 dogs here for about 3 days. It was our 1st experience here and our dogs only 2nd experience being boarded. We typically have family/friends who can watch them while we are gone. Our dogs do not do well with boarding as they are pretty anxious rescue dogs. I can't say enough nice things about the kindness and understanding of the staff here. They knew just how to best make our dogs comfortable and to make us comfortable leaving our babies in their care. Our dogs both had good reports at pick up.

The first couple visits were okay, even pretty good. The techs/assistants seemed nice and were informative. The veterinarians were good with my puppy and answered all of my questions. Then they told me they needed a stool sample because where the pup came from there were lots of parasites. So I had a gut feeling she would test “positive” for something she tested negative for at the shelter! This is where it started to go wrong. Sure enough she tested “positive” despite having NO signs or symptoms and testing negative before I got her (she isn’t around any other animals!!) So when I go to pick up the expensive medication (that she probably doesn’t even need) the person at the front scolded me for bringing my anxious pup in with me instead of leaving her in the car, saying what she has is highly contagious! It took everything I had not to tell her that whatever my dog has, she got it from VCA! Really, really disappointed and considering changing to a different office or veterinarian.
