The only place that has the hours I needed with my hectic schedule. The people there definitely care about their clients. I have an aggressive pitbull. I warn them every time and he's never gotten into any trouble there. They get me in a side door and into a room quickly. I feel like pricing is a bit high but then again, I'm paying for them being open later than 5pm so it's also fair pricing. They took very good care of my dog and I would highly suggest if you need a vet for your furry family member.

Based on customer feedback, VCA Newark Animal Hospital understands the diverse needs of pet owners, including those with demanding schedules. While a complete list of all services is best confirmed by contacting the hospital directly, typical offerings within a VCA Pet Hospital often include:
- Wellness Examinations and Preventative Care: Regular check-ups are crucial for maintaining your pet's long-term health. These examinations allow the veterinarians to assess your pet's overall condition, administer necessary vaccinations, and provide guidance on parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworms), nutrition, and weight management.
- Vaccinations: Protecting your pet from preventable infectious diseases is a cornerstone of their care. VCA Newark Animal Hospital will offer a range of core and lifestyle-based vaccinations tailored to your pet's individual needs and risk factors.

- Dental Care: Maintaining good oral hygiene is vital for your pet's overall well-being. Services may include dental examinations, professional dental cleanings to remove tartar and plaque buildup, and guidance on at-home dental care.
- Diagnostic Services: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. VCA Newark Animal Hospital likely utilizes a range of diagnostic tools, which may include in-house laboratory testing (such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams) and advanced imaging technologies (like digital radiography and ultrasound) to help identify the underlying cause of your pet's illness.
- Medical Treatment: The experienced veterinarians at VCA Newark Animal Hospital are skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, from common ailments to more complex internal medicine cases. They develop individualized treatment plans based on your pet's specific needs.
- Surgical Services: VCA hospitals typically offer a range of surgical procedures, from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. They prioritize your pet's safety and comfort throughout the surgical process, including careful anesthesia monitoring and post-operative pain management.
- Care for Aggressive or Anxious Pets: The positive review from the owner of an aggressive pitbull highlights the hospital's ability to handle challenging cases with care and expertise. Their protocol of using a side door and quickly moving the dog into a private room demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients and staff. This proactive approach to managing potentially difficult situations is a significant feature.
- Exceptional Veterinary Expertise: Dr. Jaskot is specifically praised as a "phenomenal vet" with exceptional attention to detail, clear explanations, and outstanding care for animals. This strong endorsement underscores the high level of veterinary expertise available at VCA Newark Animal Hospital.
- Knowledgeable and Helpful Staff: Beyond the veterinarians, the support staff, including technicians like Tyler, are recognized for being incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. A supportive and well-informed team contributes significantly to a positive overall experience for pet owners.
- Potential for On-site Pharmacy Services: As part of the VCA network, VCA Newark Animal Hospital likely offers the convenience of an on-site pharmacy, allowing pet owners to easily obtain prescribed medications for their animals.
A significant feature of VCA Newark Animal Hospital is their commitment to accommodating pet owners' busy schedules through their extended operating hours. This flexibility makes it easier for individuals who work traditional hours or have other commitments to access veterinary care without significant disruption to their routines. This focus on accessibility is a valuable benefit for the local community.
The exceptional quality of the veterinary team, particularly Dr. Jaskot, is another key feature. Her dedication to providing thorough care, clear communication, and a genuine connection with animals instills trust and confidence in pet owners. The positive feedback emphasizing her attention to detail and superb care highlights the high standard of medical expertise available.
Furthermore, the supportive and knowledgeable veterinary technicians, like Tyler, play a crucial role in the positive experience reported by clients. Their kindness and helpfulness contribute to a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere, making the entire process smoother for both pets and their owners.
One reviewer mentioned that the pricing might be perceived as "a bit high" but acknowledged that it is fair considering the extended hours offered. This suggests that while the cost may be a consideration, the convenience and accessibility provided by the longer operating hours are seen as a valuable trade-off for many pet owners. It is always advisable for pet owners to discuss any cost concerns with the hospital staff and inquire about payment options or potential financing if needed.
While the provided reviews do not explicitly mention specific promotional offers or discounts for new clients, the positive testimonials themselves act as a strong form of word-of-mouth promotion. Mar 09, 2025 路 Keith HermesI always have had a great experience when taking my animals here, but Dr. Jaskot is a phenomenal vet. Her attention to detail, explanations, and care with animals is truly superb! She is the only vet I trust with my animals. Additionally, every technician has been great, but Tyler is incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. These two employees are what keeps me bringing my pets here!!!
Nov 18, 2024 路 Morgan AllarI want to thank the staff for everything they did today to make my little girl Teeny RIP. They truly treated not only her( my dog) well, but gave me the comfort that I needed as well. Made me feel like they truly care . I absolutely recommend them and even donated a few things that I will no longer need for my baby girl . Staff like this is truly a blessing. Want to give an extra shout out to Grace, for my girl loved the treats you shared with her today 馃グ.
Oct 22, 2022 路 Debora ClavijoDr Zhang was absolutely amazing with our dog, Maizie. Maizie can often be wary of new people and Dr Zhang took the time and treats to make sure Maizie was comfortable with her and had a good experience.
Jan 07, 2025 路 Alex BullerVets are amazing, great experience with techs. Hate to leave the rating that I am, but their scheduling shows that they don鈥檛 value your time as I habitually wait 45 minutes to an hour plus to even be seen, but was late 10 minutes once due to an accident/traffic and was told i needed to reschedule (this happened months prior to the review, more examples lead to me feeling implied enough to take the time from my day to even write this). Also was diagnosed with an acl tear and was recommended surgery, got a second opinion and no surgery needed he鈥檚 running jumping and everything else as normal. Glad I didn鈥檛 put my dog through the pain and suffering of a pretty major procedure, and glad I didn鈥檛 spend over 5-7k on a surgery. Vets and techs are great for normal health services and neutering, wouldn鈥檛 recommend for any leg/hip injuries. And be sure you clear your schedule as you could be there 30 minutes or for 2 plus hours. Again, the actually vet and tech team are great at what they do, I just truly am disappointed with about every other portion of the company and its business structure and values.
