**1st post** Let me start my review by saying that my 2 dogs are my children so I take things pretty seriously with their health and wellness just as much as any dog mama. We have 2 boys who are both 2.5 years old (pitbull/pitbull terrier breed). We’ve raised them since 8 weeks to be kind and they are extremely loved. They love people, other dogs, and children. My husband and I were planning our honey moon and we made the decision to board them. We could have easily asked someone we knew to house sit or find someone etc but we wanted to take them to a facility because we knew that the staff would be knowledgeable and trained professionals with degrees/certifications who could perform CPR god forbid if necessary. My cousin in a vet tech and I have a different appreciation for vet staff from the technicians to the doctors and everything else in between. So, we chose this facility merely because our one dog gets car sickness (we live in Croydon and needed something close by) and also it was recommended for boarding by a very good friend. The vet we usually take the boys to does not do boarding unfortunately. Before I start this lengthy experience please take note my husband and I are very laid back people. We understand life happens and mistakes happen. We are the type of people who trust the doctors judgements, we don’t deny any vaccinations for the dogs except the Lyme for now since we are not much of hikers and at this time don’t feel it’s really necessary with our lifestyle. First visit: Met with one of the doctors for their initial visit. Prior to boarding each dog needs a visit along with updating vaccines and judging their temperament to see if the dogs are a good fit for boarding. My one dog Bane had an ear infection starting (they are very prone to ear infections and it’s a constant battle cleaning their ears, giving medication, and trying to prevent it from happening. I honestly become apathetic about this topic because I feel like we do everything we can to prevent them but no matter what they get them. The doctor proceeds to recommend testing the bacteria in the ear and sending us home with a cleansing solution and medication for the ear canals. I wasn’t understanding the need to test the bacteria so I asked the doctor-depending on what bacteria is developing/present does that change the treatment? She hesitantly told me no. Either way it would still be the cleansing solution and ear medication. So, why would we pay an additional fee for the bacteria to be tested and sent to a lab just to have the same treatment? Not sure if the doctors made commission based off sales at this practice but it felt like a money grab to me. Wasn’t a good first impression. I understand giving the patient their options of possible treatment; absolutely. However, when I denied the bacterial testing there was a shift in the doctor’s demeanor. Appointment was over and we were dismissed with a very nice goodie bag for each dog along with their heart worm medication they get every month. So, that was extremely nice. Not once was it mentioned for us to see what the kennels looked like behind the scenes. I had to ASK if I could see it back there. It was the end of the day and the perfect time to give a quick run through because everything was cleaned up. I know they were closing shortly but how long does a quick walk through really take? At this visit both boys got updated vaccinations-some even slightly early just to not worry about it later on when our vacation came up. And we were instructed to schedule another visit with the technician only for the 2nd series of their vaccine. (Which has to be administered 3-4 weeks after the initial dose). We left and called back to reschedule when we had our schedules infront of us.

A good place to take your fur creatures. Kind and caring staff. A little expensive. We have been going there for years and have had several fur creatures in their care with some even reaching end of life. The level of care has always been excellent. Care Club is a good way to offset the costs of pet ownership.

Dr. Chris Schumacher was so caring and thorough in explaining our options. We had many questions. My Floof passed away today and it was thanks to him that we could prepare ourselves and say goodbye peacefully at home. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind as well during such a painful time. We would love to bring our younger cat here for future visits. Thank you again.

I don't usually go to a Vet unless I have to, Like if my dogs are Sick or Something. I usually get their Shots at a Clinic at a Pet Store or Something Like that. Not that I have an issue with having a Steady & familiar Vet. It's Just the cost's are S0000 expensive and Im a retired Guy So funds are tight.. But, I assure you ,My Dogs are healthy and cared for at all times. Anyways,I recently had to Say goodbuy to my Little Yorkie " Gizmo" who was (as far as I could tell) about 16 - 18 yrs old ! He basically Just got old. Very old. I rescued him from an abusive home 16 plus yrs ago. They told me he was 3 yrs old at that time and I had him for 16 years. So you do the math. He was old! He Lost his eye sight Several months ago and his hearing went as well. He was getting around Pretty Well for most of this year. He Just needed a little help every now and then. Well, The Past 2 weeks he declined rapidly and his Quality of life Just wasn't good anymore. it was breaking my heart. So I searched out a local vet to have him euthanized. I ended up at the VCA Neshaminy Location and needless to Say, it was a hard day. I had no Idea of the Cost's involved because it's been a while Since I've had to make this kind of decision. The staff was 100 percent careing and understanding of my whole situation. They were respectful and caring of all my wishes and even found a way for me to afford the Bill. I have nothing but positive things to say especially on such a Sad day . I played it off tough and gruff When dealing with the whole situation but when I got in my truck to go home it all hit me. my Little buddy was gone. not a fun ride home at all ! but, if they read these reviews...I want to thank you all at Neshaming for making such a hard day a little easier for me to Get through. I Think Im going to Look into Some basic Wellness insurance for my other dog Rocky. He's a 3 yr old American Pit Bull terrier that I rescued about a year ago. Id like to be able to get him Set up with normal Vet Visits at VCA Neshaminy . Heres a pic of Gizmo Just 2 days before I Said goodbye to him and another with This buddy " Rocky " . Thanks again to everyone at VCA Neshaminy ! I hope I'II see you Soon with "Rocky"
