Lack of empathy and only interested in money. My dog had a wound and was bleeding severely. They asked for a $1800 deposit just to admit her. We waiting an hour with no information until we were told the bleeding had stopped but they would need another $3000 to continue operating on her and for blood transfusions. Money I didn't have. No payment plan was offered. Letting her die was the only option. The nurse came up to me and said, "for the next dog, you should get an insurance plan". No sympathy card. No other options. Avoid this place at all costs if you love your pet.

VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital, a veterinary care facility located at 10701 South St, Cerritos, CA 90703, USA. As a "Pet Hospital," VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital aims to provide a variety of services to address the health needs of your beloved pets. They can be contacted at (562) 926-3600 or their mobile number +1 562-926-3600.

Based on the limited information available online, particularly the customer reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive description of the hospital's environment. One review mentions a waiting area where initial triage occurred, suggesting a standard clinical setting. However, further details about the overall ambiance, cleanliness, or specific facilities are not provided. It is important for pet owners to feel comfortable with the environment where their animals receive care, and while one review indicates a sense of not being forgotten amidst a busy environment, concrete details about the hospital's physical space remain unknown.

In terms of services, VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital appears to offer emergency veterinary care, as indicated by the reviews describing injured animals being brought to the facility. One positive review highlights the quick initial assessment and triage process upon arrival, suggesting that the hospital is equipped to handle urgent medical situations. This is a crucial aspect of a "Pet Hospital," as timely intervention can be critical in emergency cases.

The negative review describes a situation involving a dog with a severe wound and bleeding, requiring a significant financial deposit for admission and further costs for surgery and blood transfusions. This account raises concerns about the hospital's financial policies and the perceived lack of flexibility or alternative payment options in emergency situations. It also mentions a perceived lack of empathy in the handling of the situation. This perspective contrasts with the positive review that emphasizes the appropriate care and attention received by their injured dog.

The positive review details a scenario where the staff acknowledged the pet owner immediately upon arrival and efficiently gathered information. The triage process was described as quick, and the staff kept the owner informed despite the busy environment with other seriously injured animals. This suggests a level of organization and communication that was appreciated by this particular customer. The review also notes that the pet received appropriate care and attention, leading to a positive outcome, albeit with a mention of the cost being high.

Considering the limited and somewhat conflicting information, it is difficult to definitively outline the comprehensive list of services offered at VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital. Typically, a "Pet Hospital" provides a range of services that may include routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostic procedures (such as blood tests and imaging), surgical procedures, dental care, and management of chronic illnesses. However, the provided reviews primarily focus on emergency care scenarios. Therefore, without further information, it is not possible to confirm the full spectrum of services available.

In terms of features, the contrasting reviews offer different perspectives. One potential feature is the capacity to handle emergency situations and provide initial triage and assessment promptly, as highlighted in the positive review. The acknowledgment upon arrival and the quick gathering of information also suggest efficient administrative processes. The fact that the staff kept the owner updated despite the busy environment indicates a focus on communication during stressful times.

However, the negative review points to a potential feature of requiring substantial upfront deposits for emergency care and a lack of payment plan options, which could be a significant barrier for some pet owners. The perceived lack of empathy in a critical situation is also a concerning aspect raised in this review.

Regarding promotional information, there is no such information available in the provided text. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any special offers, discounts, or programs that VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital might offer.

Based on the objective analysis of the provided customer reviews, VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital appears to be a facility that handles emergency pet care. One customer experienced efficient triage and care, while another reported a negative experience characterized by high upfront costs, lack of payment options, and perceived lack of empathy in a critical situation. The contrasting nature of these reviews suggests that individual experiences may vary significantly.

For local users considering VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital as their "Pet Hospital," it would be prudent to seek additional information beyond these two reviews. This could include inquiring directly about their service offerings, financial policies, payment options, and approach to emergency situations. Understanding the full scope of their services and their protocols for handling different medical and financial circumstances will be crucial in making an informed decision about your pet's care.

In conclusion, VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital in Cerritos, CA, is a veterinary facility that handles emergency cases. While one customer review praises their prompt attention and care, another raises serious concerns about financial policies and empathy. Without further information, a comprehensive assessment of their environment, full range of services, and features remains limited. Local users are advised to conduct further research to gain a more complete understanding of what VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital offers.

Left a different animal hospital with my injured 7 year old dog after sitting with no info for an hour. The minute we walked in to VCA, we were acknowledged, they took all our info (I did not fill out any forms). She called for triage after we explained that our Sally fell off the dining room table. They did a quick exam in the waiting room. After verifying, Sally was not in immediate danger, we waited for our turn. There were many more seriously injured animals coming in and some that didn't make it. Not once did we feel forgotten or abandoned. When it was Sally's turn, I felt she received the appropriate care and attention. The doctor and the staff were great. By the time we left, we felt relieved it was not too serious, just scary. (Just wish it was not $$$)

I’m like most reviewers I’m not here playing on the tenderness from my beloved terrier, but rather the financial “cent$”of being one of their CareClub wellness programs. Included are Wellness Labwork; Annual and Semi-annual Checkup Exams; RAD; Fecal Test; and several vaccinations. We appreciate the attention our pet deserves with Financial options to both remain happy emotionally and financially. I applaud the business aspect, although a little bit too cluttered, prescribe nutrition, sometimes very crowded weight room, and often long weights even with an appointment. They help your pet live a happy, healthy life. Offered with monthly payments, or prepayment, they are an affordable way to protect our pet's health and help prevent illness.

One of the greatest vets in the area. We were a mess putting our dog down. This clinic showed kindness, patience and empathy that is rare nowadays. I couldn’t suggest them more. I wish their staff and doctors nothing but the best.

My parents and I took my dog here because it’s open 24/7 and my dog was sick late at night. There was not a long wait. She was unable to walk so they had someone carry her to the back. They provided us with their best options. I am thankful they were open and called us when we needed to return to say goodbye.
