- "We love this Veterinarian for our two YorkiePoos. Everyone is great. We love Scott. He takes his time to explain everything and does the best he can to keep costs down. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Vet."
- "As much as I love the boarding staff, (Kristen, Lisa…) and particularly my pup’s groomer, Tina, the new requirement for a stool sample test before our next grooming appt prob won’t happen. My dog will see his vet again in February when a shot and exam is due etc. I’m sure there is a stool check charge involved that VCA won’t pick up cost for…so I guess if you’re a VCA vet customer of theirs, this is a simple thing…For other customers, just a PIA. I have spent a lot of money here day boarding, grooming and away trip boarding, check our history…and it seems every month it’s something else. If you’re going to spend $50+ grooming your pet monthly, it’s unlikely you just walked in on whim…I’m at a crossroads here with continuing to make the trip for grooming here, and I’m sad to say the only one who will $uffer is our excellent groomer, and of course my dog, who LOVES his groomer! Please consider pets that are regularly cared for by other vets when making your demands on us. Thank you."
We understand that your pet is a cherished member of your family, and we are here to provide the highest standard of care. Whether you need routine health checks, grooming, or boarding, VCA Lake Wales Animal Hospital is here to support you every step of the way. Jan 08, 2025 · Cheryl PittsAnybody else do dog grooming at VCA lake wales -they have change their policy because of corporate greed and now your pet has to have an exam current with them to have your dog groomed or boarded. So they want you to pay $100 for an office visit for an exam on your dog for grooming or boarding How does an exam on your dog have any benefit for grooming or boarding So upset over the price gouging in Lake Wales over vaccines and exams for our pets. I had a great groomer at VCA Tina and lost her because of this policy with no warning. Corporate should have sent out a letter and a time frame of when it would take affect Very disappointed They are over priced and now this Totally unacceptable This has nothing to do with vaccines My dog is current on all vaccines this is about an office visit for grooming or boarding I went somewhere else for vaccines as they are overpriced and you never see the vet it’s always a text I am going to miss Tina She was the best thing that place had going for them and if you complain no one wants to hear it they just make excuses for it Makes you wonder where did all the vets go that’s why they inly had 1 vet there for a while Grooming and boarding should be separate from the hospital
Nov 07, 2024 · Dan DuganWhen I moved to Lake Wales, this was the vet I picked for my dog. I had Dr. Scott who was awesome when I went and took her for her initial visit. He was aware she was almost 15 years old said it was normal aging and sent us on our way, he did put her on kidney food to help her kidneys that were failing. Receptionist was supposed to give me a sample, now she knows it’s a dog, but I got cat food which I bought back and was not offered any dog food and my dog wouldn’t eat the $50 kibble. In late October, I bought my dog and it took three days to get it an appointment she could not walk by by the third day she was able to walk a little they did an x-ray. They read the x-ray. They showed me her intestines that had particles, and wanted to know if I knew what that could be, which I had no idea I was told she heard crackling in the dogs lungs but the x-ray didn’t show anything cost me just under $600 I was offered a pill pack for four pills cost me $16. I asked if I could have a refill for chewy and was told yes a week later chewy tells me it was denied so when I called, I was told unless I came in and approved more test on a 15-year-old dog cost starting at $600 they would not refill the pain meds. Last week I tried calling didn’t get an answer so I brought the dog in because she could not walk at all. She was having trouble breathing and she just was very lethargic. I was told the vet was out for lunch and she would not returned until 2 o’clock, which she had a 2 o’clock appointment if I wanted to sit with this dog in pain and wait for an opening I could, I decided to go ahead to the animal hospital the reception mentioned. They examined her right away. They put us in a room at this point they did a sonogram of her lungs believe it was a mass and suspected fluids. he said they could do more test he explained them, and then I asked him was my 15-year-old dog and pain and he said yes, so at this point being on fixed income I chose to euthanize my dog so she wasn’t suffering anymore. not everyone has thousands of dollars to save their pet and to be charging people and not make them aware of their pet being in pain and refusing pain meds. It’s just wrong. I don’t want another pet. My heart broke on 12/11/2023. This vet should go back to school and learn some compassion.
Dec 17, 2023 · Dianne CarolWhen they say they treat your pet like family. They don't mean family that you like. They mean like that one person, whom you avoid their calls and don't return voicemail messages. My 13yo GSD is on pain meds prescribed by the doctor at VCA. I called on Wed at 14:00 and left a voicemail requesting a refill. I received no response, no call, no text. I called again Friday morning at 10:00. I received a text 30mins later saying they were waiting on approval from the doctor. My current bottle says she has 5 refills. If she has refills, what approval is needed? I heard nothing from the office after the text. I called 11:30 today (Saturday) bc the site says hours on Sat vary and to call. Still no response, almost 4 hours later. I have never had such an uncaring vet.
