My 4 month old puppy was seen 2x in a month for a cough. At the last appt the vet said he had kennel cough and his lungs sounded clear. 5 days later my puppy was dead as his lungs were full of fluid and the ER could not bring him back after 10 minutes of CPR. This hospitals negligence killed my puppy , and the office manager refuses to answer any calls. Please do not take your pets here.

VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital Introduce

VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital, located at 1501 Capitol Tr, Newark, DE 19711, USA, is a Pet Hospital serving the local community. They can be contacted at (302) 737-1098 or their mobile number +1 302-737-1098. As a Pet Hospital, they aim to provide veterinary care for pets in the Newark area. However, the limited number of online reviews presents a mixed picture of the services and care provided at this facility, necessitating a careful and objective evaluation based on the available information.

Information regarding the environment of VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to offer a description of the clinic's ambiance, facilities, or overall atmosphere based solely on this information. Potential clients may need to visit the clinic or seek further information from other sources to gain a better understanding of the physical environment.

In terms of services, one positive review highlights the hospital's ability to accommodate a traveling pet owner whose dog fell ill. They mention that the clinic provided same-day service, developed a "thorough treatment plan," and offered follow-up care the next day. This suggests that VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital is equipped to handle urgent situations and provide comprehensive care, including diagnosis and ongoing treatment. The mention of a treatment plan indicates a structured approach to addressing pet health issues.

However, a starkly contrasting review presents a serious concern. A pet owner recounts the tragic loss of their four-month-old puppy, who was seen twice within a month for a cough. Despite a diagnosis of kennel cough and the vet stating the puppy's lungs sounded clear, the puppy died five days later due to lungs filled with fluid. The reviewer explicitly accuses the hospital of "negligence" and states that the emergency room was unable to revive the puppy after ten minutes of CPR. Furthermore, they allege that the office manager refused to answer calls following this incident. This review raises significant questions about the accuracy of diagnoses and the standard of care provided in at least one instance.

The features of VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital, as perceived through the lens of these two reviews, paint a complex picture. On one hand, the positive review emphasizes the compassion, professionalism, and knowledge of the staff, specifically mentioning Drs. Arculus and Herman as "outstanding" and "spot on" with their assessments. The front office and vet techs are also commended for their compassionate and professional demeanor. This suggests that the clinic has the potential to provide excellent and caring service.

On the other hand, the negative review directly contradicts this, alleging negligence and a failure to accurately diagnose a fatal condition. The subsequent alleged refusal of the office manager to communicate further exacerbates the concern raised by this account. This discrepancy highlights the importance of considering all available feedback when evaluating a service provider, especially in a critical field like veterinary care.

Promotional information is not included in the provided text. Therefore, no details about special offers, discounts, or unique selling points can be objectively presented based on the given data. Local users would need to inquire directly with the hospital or consult other sources to learn about any promotional activities they might be offering.

In conclusion, the available information on VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital presents a bifurcated view of their services. One customer experienced outstanding care characterized by thoroughness, compassion, and professionalism, particularly in an urgent situation. This positive account suggests a capable and caring team. However, another customer reports a devastating experience involving the death of their puppy following a diagnosis that was allegedly inaccurate, coupled with a lack of communication from the management afterward. This serious allegation of negligence warrants significant consideration and caution for potential clients.

Given these contrasting experiences, local users considering VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital should be aware of both the positive feedback regarding their handling of a travel-related illness and the grave concerns raised about the standard of care in another instance. It is crucial for pet owners to weigh these accounts carefully and potentially seek additional information or consider other options when making decisions about their pet's health. The lack of further reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment, underscoring the importance of thorough research and due diligence when selecting a Pet Hospital.

Outstanding veterinary care for our pup who fell ill while we were traveling. We were so stressed, and the staff there went above and beyond. They saw our dog that day, created a thorough treatment plan, and provided follow-up care on the following day. From the front office to the vet techs everyone was so compassionate, professional and knowledgeable. Drs. Arculus and Herman We're outstanding and spot on with their assessments. Our pup was feeling better in no time. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

As a fellow veterinarian, I had a family medical emergency and VCA Kirkwood was extremely accommodating and allowed me to board my dog with them for a couple hours. Everyone was extremely kind and welcoming and I couldn't thank them more. Sincerely, Dr. Madara

Very bad experience. My dog was mistreated. I was getting her nails done I heard a big CRY I JUST TOOK it as they may have clipped her nails too short When I was leaving the technician (E) stated that my dog would not cooperate a week later there was a scab on her back! I never have problems with my dog getting nails or anything else done. I’ve always heard she was good. Would never recommend this PLACE!

So I have a very aggressive dog, he got his first professional grooming at the age of 11 1/2 years old, due to his anxiety and his CuJoe demeanor, so I never frequented a vet, I must say after all his visits leading up to his grooming, I am very, very, very grateful to the staff for making Stitch looking and feeling AMAZING.....THANK YOU ALL, we'll be back to keep him looking handsome.❤️❤️❤️
