This review is updated- The staff were always friendly and accommodating. The vet Dr McGregor is outstanding. He constantly followed up through phone calls on any issues our dog was having. Even calling outside of office hours. You can tell they really love fur babies and always treated my dog as if he was their own. When sadly our dog couldn’t recover from his illness we were treated with such kindness, patience and compassion. We were touched when we later received a hand written card signed by each individual in the practice. This really meant a lot to us.

One of the most consistently praised aspects of VCA Glasgow Animal Hospital is the exceptional quality and genuine care provided by their staff. Multiple reviewers highlight the friendliness and accommodating nature of everyone they interact with at the clinic. This welcoming and supportive environment is crucial for pet owners who may be feeling anxious or stressed when bringing their beloved animals for medical attention. The positive initial interaction with the staff sets a tone of trust and reassurance that extends throughout the entire visit.

The veterinarians at VCA Glasgow Animal Hospital, particularly Dr. McGregor, are described as outstanding professionals who go above and beyond in their commitment to patient care. One reviewer, in an updated testimonial, specifically commends Dr. McGregor for his proactive follow-up, even making phone calls outside of regular office hours to check on their dog's progress. This level of dedication and personal attention truly demonstrates a deep concern for the animals under their care. The reviewer explicitly states that "You can tell they really love fur babies and always treated my dog as if he was their own," underscoring the compassionate and empathetic approach of the entire practice.

The depth of their compassion is further illustrated by their handling of a particularly difficult situation. When the same reviewer's dog sadly succumbed to illness, the staff at VCA Glasgow Animal Hospital provided exceptional kindness, patience, and compassion during a very emotional time. Their support extended beyond the immediate care, as the family later received a handwritten card signed by each individual in the practice. This thoughtful gesture deeply touched the grieving pet owners and speaks volumes about the genuine empathy and personal connection the team fosters with their clients.

Another compelling review highlights the hospital's ability to handle even challenging animal temperaments with patience and expertise. When a pet owner brought in their two cats for wellness exams and bloodwork, one of the cats proved to be particularly resistant to handling. Recognizing the difficulty, the doctor and technicians proactively scheduled a follow-up visit with the aid of gabapentin (a mild sedative) and had a plan in place for anesthesia if necessary. The reviewer was particularly appreciative that the team seemed to intuitively understand their preference to avoid putting their cat under anesthesia due to potential risks and financial implications. Demonstrating remarkable skill and patience, the veterinary team managed to successfully draw blood even with the cat's significant resistance. The staff's empathetic communication, including a technician sharing a relatable experience with their own difficult cat, further reassured the owner and fostered a sense of understanding and support.

I actually really like this vet. I brought my two cats in for their wellness exams and their first ever bloodwork, my first one did fine, she’s usually pretty easy but my other one I knew would be a problem, he just hates being handled. The doctor and techs could tell they wouldn’t be able to get blood on him so they scheduled me back right away for another visit with gabapentin and planned to put him under if they couldn’t get blood just from the gabapentin. I didn’t say it, but I was really hoping they wouldn’t put him under because of the risks and as well as the financial aspect of it but I honestly think they could just tell so they worked actual magic and got the blood even with him fighting soooo much. He’s really tough and I already know that, but they didn’t burden me about it or anything and even the tech who was discharging him leveled with me and said her own cat was worse about being handled and that my cat’s visit still went okay today so that made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I really appreciate their hard work and being able to pick up on what I wanted without me even having to away it!
