VCA Franklin Park Animal Hospital

This was the closest available vet after my dog was suddenly struggling to walk with his back legs. Wobbly, knuckling paws & legs giving out. I was very grateful they were able to fit me in an hour after calling. However, after watching him walk down a hallway the vet said he had a right leg injury. There was no x-ray suggestion, even just for peace of mind, and no other further checks other than basically just looking at him. ($200 for that BTW, same price as the specialist vet...) They gave pain meds & said he’d be fine. Was 100% sure it was not just a leg injury & took him to his primary vet in Beloit a few hours later, they suggested a neurologist immediately. It was IVDD. catching it early is SO important to increase chance of recovery, don’t want to imagine the outcome if I would have trusted this vet & waited. Everyone here was friendly but vet seemed a bit dismissive. Trust your instincts.

great spot I had tooken my chihuahua for surgery here and recently went back for my other pup, just that there was this blonde lady who speaks Spanish ima get her name, that was rude and loud spoken after she had told us they cancelled our appointment for coming in late, mind you we live about 40 mins away but came to that location because we had brought my other pup before and it was great. Never seen her before but did strike a nerve, when she started speaking loudly almost screaming after I told her I had called before to let them know there was traffic. If you don’t enjoy your job you can gladly quit :) better workers PLEASE, glad I came i was in a good mood😭

This vet office charges way too much for everything. Base cost is twice as much as Northwest Animal Hospital, and they purposefully prescribe the most expensive version of every medication your dog needs. Make sure to ask for a cheaper alternative because they do have them. All in all, unless it was an emergency that's not great enough for an actual ER vet AND there were no other vets around with openings, I wouldn't trust this vet office for any type of visit. They definitely love hiking up prices for no good reason and charging as much as possible. I'm never coming back to this place.

First, I wanna say everyone was super nice and helpful. They listen instead of trying to just upsell you and treat your pet as if they are part of your family. I talked to the vet and she was very kind. My dog is older now but they never made me feel like they couldn't help her. She walked me through several options to try to give my dog the best possible outcome. I came in to get her teeth removed and they did a great job. My dog is much happier now. Wish I would have came here earlier!

THANK GOD they were there yesterday. They saved our Molly & we were saved!!!! We WILL NEVER bring her any where else, including our other dogs. We LOVED every1 there. THANKU GOD
