Such check-ups allow veterinarians to detect potential health issues early and provide guidance on nutrition, parasite control, and other essential aspects of pet care. Furthermore, the hospital likely provides diagnostic services, potentially including laboratory testing, digital imaging (such as X-rays), and ultrasound, which are vital tools for accurately diagnosing various medical conditions.

Customer reviews provide valuable insights into the experiences of pet owners at VCA Flannery Animal Hospital. One reviewer expressed deep gratitude for the "compassionate and skilled staff" who they believe "saved my cat's life" during a severe medical situation. This positive feedback highlights the dedication and expertise of the veterinary team, as well as their ability to handle critical cases effectively. The reviewer also praised the "top-notch communication" throughout the process, emphasizing the importance of keeping pet owners informed about their animal's condition, tests, and results. This level of communication can significantly contribute to a positive and reassuring experience for pet owners during stressful times.
The same positive review also noted that while the cost of care "may be a bit on the higher side," it was deemed "absolutely worth every penny for the exceptional care provided." This suggests that the hospital may prioritize high-quality services and invest in advanced equipment and skilled personnel, which can sometimes be reflected in the pricing. However, the reviewer's willingness to pay a premium underscores their satisfaction with the level of care received.
On the other hand, another customer shared a less positive experience. This review expressed dissatisfaction with the cost of visits, stating a minimum expenditure of $300 per visit, sometimes for issues perceived as manageable at home. The reviewer also recounted an emergency room visit for their dog's allergic reaction, where they felt the diagnostic approach was insufficient, focusing on immediate relief rather than identifying the underlying cause. This feedback raises concerns about the perceived value of some services and the thoroughness of diagnostic procedures in certain situations. The reviewer's statement about their aunt, a veterinarian, suggesting mandatory blood work for allergies to find the source of the problem further emphasizes their dissatisfaction with the approach taken.
It is important to consider that individual experiences can vary, and a single negative review should be balanced against positive feedback. However, this review highlights the importance of clear communication about treatment plans, diagnostic approaches, and associated costs to ensure that pet owners feel informed and confident in the care their pets receive. It also underscores the need for veterinary professionals to address the concerns of pet owners and ensure they understand the rationale behind the recommended course of action.
Based on the available information, VCA Flannery Animal Hospital appears to be a facility that strives to provide quality veterinary care, as evidenced by the positive feedback regarding their handling of a critical case and the compassionate communication. However, the negative review suggests potential areas for improvement in terms of cost transparency, diagnostic thoroughness in certain situations, and ensuring pet owners feel their concerns are fully addressed.

May 15, 2025 · Mrs.GyrlaNot happy with the experience as everytime I go I spend a minimum of 300$ and it’s something that I can remedy at home, took my dog Athena to emergency room as she was having an allergic reaction and instead of finding the source of her reaction and doing blood work they do vitals and Benadryl which I gave her prior to rushing her there and said she was good to leave after 15 minutes of being there. seems they want animals to keep getting easy money instead of helping the dogs and owners and preventing whatever allergic reaction from happening again. My aunt is a vet and has told me that doing blood is something they should do mandatory for allergies to find the source of the problem, won’t be going back.
May 06, 2025 · Nicholas KoenigMy Ashley had appointment 3/20/2025 10:20 I was there at 10:10 for good measure. My baby had bouts of vomiting / diarrhea. Yesterday she wasn’t eating. I was brought into room 10:28 and my girl was weighed and I answered a few questions. I was told Dr. Winter would be in a few minutes. 10 minutes later medical tech came in and said Dr. Winter had an emergency and was just finishing then would be right in. At 11:00 Dr came in listened to my girls heart asked a few questions and said they would do bloodwork. After blood was taken 11:10 I was told results would take 20 minutes the. We would know what we are dealing with. 11:55 blood results were provided with good results. Was told they would give anti nausea injection and subcutaneous fluids. We were finally done at 12:15. I’ve been with Flannery since the 90’ with my first dog Brandi, second dog Jackson and now Ashley who is goi g to be 14. They do have great care. But prices are outrageous and my time is just as valuable as theirs and in no way shape or form should it have taken that long for an appointment. I should have been given a courtesy discount for waiting so long. I would advise others to research other options as great care shouldn’t be this expensive.
Mar 20, 2025 · Wendy KirkwoodI took my 17 yr old cat here last Sunday night. She was getting sick for about 2 hrs. I knew what was happening. You're never ready for it. The doctor was so compassionate. Dr Grau was wonderful to me and my Kagey. There was no rushing me out. I was able to stay with her. Thank you all at Flannery.
Apr 18, 2025 · Elena CobbOn Sunday we had to take our Primrose to Flannery. We knew she was at the end of her beautiful life, and didn't want her suffering anymore. Primrose was our first pet, and neither of us had to face this decision before. We always heard great things about Flannery, and they lived up to it. The staff from arrival, during and after, made us feel at peace and truly cared for while having to make this extremely hard decision. All her little life Prim gave us everything she had, I'm so glad we went to Flannery to make sure she got the care and treatment she deserved in her last moments with us. "I loved you all your life, and will miss you for the rest of mine"
