4.0
The two stars are because the vet tech and veterinarian that I saw were really nice and thorough, but charging close to $4000 for a dog dental cleaning is absolutely insane. VCA is owned by a huge corporation and is clearly only interested in making money. Try to find a local vet instead if you can!

VCA Five Corners Animal Hospital Introduce
VCA Five Corners Animal Hospital, located at 15707 1st Ave S in Burien, Washington, is part of a larger network of veterinary hospitals. While some aspects of their service have been praised, customer reviews also raise significant concerns regarding pricing and customer service.
One positive aspect mentioned in the reviews is the perceived niceness and thoroughness of at least one vet tech and veterinarian. This suggests that some members of the medical staff are capable and caring in their interactions with patients and pet owners. However, specific details about the hospital's environment or overall facility are not provided in the given feedback.
The services offered by VCA Five Corners Animal Hospital likely include a wide range of veterinary care, such as routine check-ups, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and surgical procedures. However, one review cited an exceptionally high cost (close to $4000) for a dog dental cleaning, leading the customer to believe that the corporate ownership prioritizes profit over reasonable pricing. Another significant issue raised was the inadequate instruction on how to treat a kitten's ear infection, resulting in a prolonged illness and additional costs for the pet owner.
A major feature of concern, based on the reviews, is the level of customer service, particularly from the management. One customer detailed a negative experience where the manager was described as rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. This interaction involved a misunderstanding about discounts promised through VCA's partnership with Seattle Humane and a lack of apology for the hospital's error in providing proper treatment instructions. The review also suggests that some vet techs may lack the necessary skills or thoroughness in educating pet owners on administering medication.
No specific promotional information for VCA Five Corners Animal Hospital is mentioned in the provided reviews. Potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with high pricing and poor customer service. While some staff members may be competent and caring, the overall experience appears to be negatively impacted by corporate policies and unprofessional management. It is advisable for local users to weigh these factors carefully and consider seeking alternatives, as suggested by one of the reviewers.

Mar 06, 2025 · Amelia IrisTLDR; They did not properly teach me how to treat my kitten’s ear infection, and when I got upset that I had to keep returning and spending hundreds of dollars, they didn’t apologize. Instead, the manager was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional and told me (incorrectly) that I shouldn’t have received the discounts that they promise through their partnership with Seattle Humane. VCA hospitals are known for being rude and a poor place for treatment, and that was exactly my experience. I adopted a kitten from Seattle Humane, and she had an ear infection. Seattle Humane and VCA Hospitals partner, so that your first examination of an adopted pet is free, and you get $250 toward treating a variety of health issues that they might come with, like an ear infection. During my initial visit, I asked many times for the tech to show me how to apply the ear ointment, but she wouldn’t actually show me how much to use (she kept saying “just a squeeze”) but she did hold up the tube to show me where to administer it. When I came back 3 weeks later, the kitten still had the ear infection. This time I had a different vet tech who ACTUALLY showed me how to use the ointment and how much to use. I learned that the first person had taught me the WRONG place to add the ointment. She showed me how to massage the ear to make sure the ointment got deep in there, which the initial vet tech taught me incorrectly as well. I also realized I had not been using NEARLY enough in my initial 2 weeks of treatment, since the first vet tech wouldn’t show me. I was pretty annoyed at this point, because this poor little kitten had on ongoing ear infection because the first vet tech wouldn’t actually show me how to treat it, and what she did tell me was wrong. In addition, now I have to come in for a THIRD appointment and pay ANOTHER $175 for an ear exam and cytology to check if the infection is gone. And I need to pay another $50 for another bottle of ointment. I asked if I could potentially get a discount on that third appointment, since it was their fault for not answering my questions and teaching me how to use the ointment the first time. The manager came out, and, instead of apologizing to me for their neglect, she said she was appalled at how much they had discounted off my initial appointment. I told her I adopted the kitten from Seattle Humane, so the first exam is covered and another $250 toward any health issues. She said, “yeah, but they covered the ear cleaning and they shouldn’t have”. I said, “I figured they covered it because it was important in helping clear the infection. But even if they hadn’t covered that, I am still back here today spending another $175 on the infection. If they didn’t cover the cleaning, they would have covered that same amount today anyway, until I hit the $250”. She said, “Ugh. Well, I guess we can give you 10% off the exam next time. We’ve already given you more discounts than we should have”. Which is not true at all! I got ONLY the discounts I was promised! If they are going to get this annoyed about giving people their promised discounts, maybe they shouldn’t partner with Seattle Humane and offer these discounts in the first place! So I got no apology from the manager, and instead she found something else to be rude to me about that was completely unjustified. I would steer clear of these disrespectful people with unqualified vet techs. I went to a different vet for my third follow up appointment, and they were shocked that VCA didn't send me home with ear cleaning solution and teach me to clean her ears, since that is important for helping clear up infections.
Feb 01, 2025 · Jackie LangWe transferred to another vet last month and within 1 hour today they resolved all of our issues! After a year of frustration and high payments, and getting lectured about what we really should do, we canceled our plan last month. We couldn’t be happier with our new vet. Wishing VCA good luck but they were not a good fit for us.
Jan 07, 2025 · TaliaferroMy new adoptee is fearful of people due to some past demons she carries with her. This was our first visit to VCA Five Corners and everyone we worked with was understanding of her fear and went out of their way to make us both feel at ease and supported. In fact, what I thought would be a traumatic visit for all of us resulted in us leaving with our shared tail wagging. Great visit, Dr. Reed and VCA, thank you.
