First off I would like to say don’t schedule online because they won’t let you cancel there is no option for it, and apparently to the hospital manager Moriah was very rude and said you have to call to cancel which they never stated that so they switched me to same day appointments which they know their already booked for so at the point it’s not even a way to get a appointment. And same day appointments are not even safe because my dog needed to be seen medically and they switched it without even caring for my dogs needs And she was disrespectfully texting me and I have the proof but it won’t let me post it on here. Not only that my dog was put down here in 2018 and they practically let her die my grandmother is an older lady and they told her it was okay to feed our dog cooked chicken and my dog ended up passing away from congested heart failure a year later and we found it it was because of the cooked chicken. So they practically killed my dog on purpose so they would get a big check. Cause vets paid more for every service they do, so keep that in mind and make sure you go to caring vet and not just for the money.

Welcome to VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital

This introduction addresses VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital, a veterinary care provider located at 220 S Park Dr, Colchester, VT 05446, USA. Operating under the category of a Pet Hospital, VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital can be contacted via phone at (802) 654-6800 or mobile phone at +1 802-654-6800. It is crucial to preface any description of this facility with a thorough consideration of the overwhelmingly negative feedback present in the available online reviews.

Information regarding the physical environment of VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital is not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, a pet hospital within the VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network would be expected to have standard facilities, including a reception area, examination rooms, surgical suites, diagnostic imaging capabilities (such as X-ray and ultrasound), and potentially on-site laboratories for quick analysis of samples. They may also have separate areas for housing and monitoring animals before and after procedures. However, given the serious nature of the customer feedback, the physical environment, while important, becomes secondary to the reported quality of care and service.

While the specific services offered by a VCA-affiliated animal hospital generally include a comprehensive range of veterinary care, the provided reviews cast a significant shadow over the actual delivery and quality of these services at VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital. Typically, one might expect a pet hospital to offer:

  • Preventative care, including vaccinations, parasite control, and wellness examinations.
  • Diagnostic services, such as laboratory testing and imaging.
  • Medical treatments for various illnesses and conditions.
  • Surgical procedures, both routine and specialized.
  • Dental care.
  • Nutritional counseling.
  • Behavioral medicine consultations.
  • Emergency and critical care services (the availability of which at this specific location is not confirmed but is common for VCA hospitals).

However, the customer reviews present alarming accounts that directly contradict the expectation of quality care. One reviewer details a frustrating experience with appointment scheduling and cancellation policies, describing rude communication from the hospital manager and a perceived lack of concern for their dog's medical needs. This raises serious questions about the administrative efficiency and client communication at VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital.

More gravely, the reviews include accusations of negligence and prioritizing financial gain over patient welfare. One reviewer recounts the death of their dog after allegedly receiving incorrect dietary advice from the hospital, suggesting a direct link between the hospital's guidance and the pet's fatal congestive heart failure. This is an extremely serious allegation that, if accurate, indicates a severe lapse in professional judgment and a tragic outcome for the pet and its owners.

Another reviewer expresses a sentiment of spending "thousands" without resolution of their pet's health issue, stating that the hospital "only cares about money and not care." A third review echoes this concern, describing the hospital as "truly unsympathetic and just wanted more money." These comments collectively paint a distressing picture of a veterinary practice allegedly focused on maximizing profits at the expense of providing effective and compassionate care.

Given the severity of these allegations, it is impossible to discuss the "features" of VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital in a positive light based solely on the provided information. Instead, the prominent features that emerge from the customer feedback are:

  • Alleged poor customer service and rigid, inconvenient administrative policies.
  • Serious accusations of negligence leading to a pet's death due to incorrect medical advice.
  • Claims of prioritizing financial gain over the well-being of animals.
  • A perceived lack of sympathy and care for both pets and their owners.
  • Unresolved health issues despite significant financial expenditure by clients.

There is no promotional information available for VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital in the provided text. Typically, VCA hospitals might offer various promotions or wellness plans, but in light of the overwhelmingly negative feedback concerning the fundamental aspects of care and service, any potential promotional offers would be overshadowed by the serious concerns raised by past clients.

In conclusion, this introduction of VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital in Colchester, VT, as a Pet Hospital must be heavily qualified by the significant and disturbing negative feedback found in the available online reviews. These reviews allege poor customer service, administrative inflexibility, and, most alarmingly, instances of negligence and a perceived prioritization of financial gain over the health and well-being of animals, including a claim directly linking the hospital's advice to a pet's death. Local users considering VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital for their pet's care are strongly urged to carefully consider this feedback and conduct thorough further research, including seeking additional reviews from various sources and potentially contacting the hospital directly with specific questions and concerns based on the issues raised. Given the gravity of the accusations, proceeding with extreme caution and potentially seeking alternative veterinary care providers in the Colchester area would be a prudent approach to ensure the safety and health of their beloved pets.

It is important to note that while online reviews can provide valuable insights, they represent individual experiences and may not be fully representative of every interaction. However, the consistency and severity of the negative themes present in the provided feedback regarding VCA Fitzgerald Animal Hospital warrant serious attention and careful consideration by potential clients. The allegations of negligence and prioritizing profit over patient care are particularly concerning and should not be dismissed lightly.

Local pet owners may want to inquire specifically about the hospital's protocols for dietary advice, the qualifications and experience of the veterinary staff, and their approach to client communication and complaint resolution. It would also be wise to seek second opinions if considering any significant medical procedures or treatments for their pets at this facility, given the reported negative experiences. The well-being of your pet is paramount, and making an informed decision based on all available information, including these critical reviews, is essential.

I never leave reviews, but the negligence here is unbelievable. We spent thousands, and remain to have the same issue. This place only cares about money and not care. Truly unsympathetic and just wanted more money.

I took my sheepdog to Fitzgerald for 14 years! They were always available, helpful, affordable and friendly. When she died, the entire staff sent me a beautiful card. Now that I have a new rescue pup, he literally LOVEs going to the vet here. Dr. Daley is one of his favorite people!

Fitzgerald is amazing, they helped my dog when she was having complications with her pregnancy. They actually cared about the wellbeing of my dog and one of the only Vets I know who didn't try to up charge us with all extra money costing services. I have changed them to my regular vet and they even sent me a welcome card in the mail, I'm super pleased with this place and excited for my dog to have them as her regular vet. Thank you for all you do.

I have an older dog and we've always had good experiences with Dr. Flanders and the various technicians we've met.
