I took my healthy dog to VCA in Findlay to be boarded. Ten days later I picked up a sneezing, sick, lethargic dog. Nobody there seemed to notice. Now they want me to pay a little over one hundred dollars for medications. Obviously my dog got sick there and this was pretty much acknowledged by the vet. But yet I am expected to pay for medications. Before writing this I read some of the reviews. I wish I would have read them before I decided to board my pup there. I also noticed that for every bad review, the reviewer would be asked to contact VCA so they could talk about it. Seems backwards to me, VCA should contact the customer. All that being said, I will never go there again. My dog should have been just as healthy as he was when I dropped him off. The staff was very friendly, but a sick dog and the lack of an acceptable solution overrides everything.

Welcome to VCA Findlay Animal Care Center

For pet owners in Findlay, Ohio, and the surrounding areas, this introduction provides an objective overview of VCA Findlay Animal Care Center, located at 1614 W Main Cross St, Findlay, OH 45840, USA. They can be reached at (419) 423-4445 or their mobile number, +1 419-423-4445.

The following information is based solely on the reviews provided by individuals who have interacted with VCA Findlay Animal Care Center. It is crucial for local users to consider these experiences when making decisions about their pet's healthcare and boarding needs.

Two customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on VCA Findlay Animal Care Center. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their dog's boarding experience. They brought a healthy dog for boarding and, upon pick-up ten days later, found their pet to be sneezing, sick, and lethargic, with no apparent prior notice from the facility. This pet owner also noted that they were expected to pay for the medications to treat the illness their dog seemingly contracted while in their care. The reviewer mentioned that the veterinarian acknowledged the likelihood of the dog getting sick at VCA. This individual was further critical of VCA's approach to negative reviews, observing that instead of proactively contacting dissatisfied customers, they typically ask the reviewer to reach out to them. Based on this experience, the reviewer stated they would never return, emphasizing that their dog should have remained healthy during boarding.

In contrast, the second review expresses gratitude towards Dr. Niese and the staff for accommodating the reviewer and their pet, Harris, on short notice. This pet owner felt reassured that their pet's condition was not critical and appreciated the willingness of the clinic to "squeeze them in" and the kindness shown during their visit.

Given these two reviews, it is challenging to provide a uniformly positive description of VCA Findlay Animal Care Center. One review highlights potential issues with their boarding services and the handling of illnesses acquired during boarding, while the other praises the responsiveness and kindness of the medical staff in an acute care situation.

Based on these reviews, potential local users might infer the following about VCA Findlay Animal Care Center:

  • They offer boarding services for dogs, although there is a concerning report of a dog becoming ill during a boarding stay.
  • The medical staff, particularly Dr. Niese, are capable of providing prompt attention and kind service, especially in situations requiring short-notice appointments.
  • There may be inconsistencies in the level of attention paid to boarded animals' health, with potential issues going unnoticed.
  • The handling of situations where a pet becomes ill during boarding and the associated costs may be a point of contention.
  • Their customer service approach to negative feedback appears to be reactive, asking reviewers to contact them rather than proactively reaching out.

The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment of the facility, such as its cleanliness or the comfort of the boarding areas. Similarly, while both reviews mention staff, there are no detailed descriptions of the overall team or the range of veterinary services beyond boarding and an examination for a potentially urgent medical concern.

There is no promotional information available in these reviews. The contrasting experiences make it difficult to identify consistent positive features of the practice as a whole.

For local users in Findlay, OH, VCA Findlay Animal Care Center presents a mixed record based on these two recent reviews. While some pet owners may experience prompt and kind service, particularly in medical consultations, there is also a concerning account regarding the health and subsequent care of a dog boarded at the facility. Potential clients considering VCA Findlay Animal Care Center for boarding services may want to weigh the negative experience shared in one review against any perceived convenience or other factors. Those seeking veterinary care for illnesses or urgent needs might find the positive feedback regarding Dr. Niese and the staff reassuring.

In conclusion, VCA Findlay Animal Care Center in Findlay, OH, appears to offer both boarding and medical services. However, recent customer feedback presents a cautionary tale regarding the boarding experience, alongside positive remarks about the responsiveness and kindness of the medical staff in a specific healthcare instance. Local pet owners should consider these perspectives when making decisions about their pet care needs.

Thank you to Dr. Niese & staff for seeing Harris & I on short notice. You put my mind at ease that he wasn’t in a critical situation. I appreciate your willingness to squeeze us in and your kindness.

Awful experience. Staff was extremely rude. Lack of completely normal and basic dog health knowledge. Does not take the time to get your dog comfortable if they are nervous. Will just rush you along, immediately rush your pet, poke, prod, and then when your dog flinches or even slightly growls, tells you they aren’t doing anything else with them and asks you to leave. Will not care about you or your pet. Better off going to a small town or local vet office

The professionalism of this location is abysmal. My appointment was rescheduled due to a "technical error" with no guarantee that this situation would not happen again. They told me I was late to my appointment, no longer had one, and I had the option to wait there all day to maybe be seen if I was lucky. The office manager offered my husband via phone a free first time visit for my cat as compensation fully well knowing I had that exact coupon on my account due to being a new client with a new animal. I went back in to speak with her after taking my cat home and she was very defensive and became visibly angry that I dare bring up this situation. I'd rather drive to Texas for a vet than bring my animals here. Don't bring your animals here. I've contacted corporate about this.

They took care of the new part of the family. Thank you for the check up. Way Better experience here than I had at Blanchard Valley vet clinic.
