Do NOT come here. They charged me $97 per pet for a distemper vaccine for my 2 cats. People for animals chargers $25 for this. They had quoted me $1200-$1500 for a dental extraction for my cat, if you go elsewhere i.e delaware valley animal hospital they charge you $650-$800 for this extraction(which is what i am doing). This was after I went in for a visit and asked the vet if I needed to do anything for my cats teeth. He said nothing was wrong, a month later the tooth is loose and root exposed. I called them they said this was a fill in vet and not a regular. Failed to tell me this when my initial appointment happened. He then asked if I wanted a rabies vaccine for them , showed the price which was outrageous so I declined. Most places charge $10-20 for this here it was more than 4-5x the price. After i declined he then told me that I can get it for free at another clinic. These people do not care about your animals, they care about making money and running your pockets dry

Welcome to VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital
Welcome to VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 612 Eagle Rock Ave in West Orange, New Jersey. As part of the VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network, this facility aims to provide a range of veterinary services to the local pet community. The reviews available online present a mixed perspective on the hospital, with some clients expressing concerns about pricing and the quality of certain services, while others have highlighted positive experiences, particularly regarding their wellness programs and the care provided to their pets. It is important for local users to consider these varying viewpoints when evaluating VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital for their pet care needs.
Information regarding the specific environment of VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. However, one positive review mentions an "amazing facility," suggesting a modern and well-equipped space. As part of the VCA network, the hospital likely adheres to certain standards of cleanliness and organization to facilitate effective veterinary care. The front desk staff is also noted for being "on top with keeping documents, payments and pet profiles up to date," indicating an organized and efficient administrative process. Potential clients may find the facility to be well-maintained and equipped to handle various veterinary needs, though further details about the overall ambiance and specific amenities are not provided.
The services offered at VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital, as a comprehensive Pet Hospital within the VCA network, likely encompass a wide array of veterinary care. These typically include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, diagnostic services (such as laboratory work and imaging), and surgical procedures. One negative review mentions a significant cost for a distemper vaccine and a dental extraction compared to other clinics, as well as a potentially missed diagnosis by a fill-in veterinarian. This suggests that while these services are offered, pricing and the consistency of care might be areas of concern for some clients. On the other hand, a positive review specifically praises their "care club program," which covers major preventative care needs for puppies and dogs, including vaccinations. This indicates a proactive approach to wellness and potentially more predictable costs for routine care.
The "features" of VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital, based on the reviews, present a somewhat contrasting picture. A significant feature highlighted in a positive review is their "care club program," described as "amazing" and affordable, taking the stress off high bills for each vaccine and covering major preventative needs. This suggests that the hospital offers a structured approach to wellness care with potential cost benefits. The welcoming and loving attitude of the staff towards pets is also noted as a positive feature. Additionally, the efficient handling of administrative tasks, such as keeping documents and payments up to date, contributes to a smooth client experience. However, a concerning feature raised in a negative review is the potentially high cost of certain services compared to other local providers, as well as an instance of a missed diagnosis by a fill-in veterinarian who was not identified as such at the time of the appointment. This raises questions about pricing transparency and the consistency of veterinary expertise provided.
The negative review also mentions a discrepancy in the quoted price for a rabies vaccine compared to other clinics, suggesting that pricing for individual services may be higher than average. The fact that a fill-in veterinarian was not identified as such during the initial appointment and allegedly provided a missed diagnosis is a significant point of concern regarding transparency and the quality of care provided by temporary staff. It is important for potential clients to be aware of these contrasting experiences when considering VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital.
As part of the VCA network, VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital likely has access to a wide range of resources and potentially specialized services. VCA is a large network of veterinary hospitals, which can sometimes offer benefits such as standardized medical protocols and access to advanced medical technologies. However, the local experiences, as reflected in the reviews, should also be carefully considered. The availability of an on-site pharmacy is typical for VCA hospitals, allowing clients to conveniently fill prescriptions for their pets. However, the pricing of medications and other products may also be a factor to consider based on the feedback received.
The positive review strongly recommends VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital due to the affordability of their care club program and the loving care provided to their puppy. This suggests that for clients who utilize these wellness plans, the cost of routine care may be manageable and predictable. However, the negative review serves as a cautionary tale regarding the potential for high costs for individual services and the importance of clear communication about the qualifications and status of the veterinarians providing care.
Currently, specific promotional information beyond the "amazing" care club program mentioned in one review is not available in the provided text. VCA hospitals may offer various promotions throughout the year, and it would be beneficial for interested local users to check the VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital website or contact them directly to inquire about any current special offers, new client discounts, or details about their care club program. Understanding the specifics of these programs and comparing the costs of individual services with other local providers would be advisable for making an informed decision about your pet's care.
In conclusion, VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital in West Orange, New Jersey, offers a range of veterinary services and a care club program that some clients find beneficial and affordable for routine pet care. However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of feedback regarding potentially high prices for individual services and concerns about the consistency and transparency of veterinary care provided by fill-in staff. While some pet owners have had very positive experiences with the welcoming staff and the care provided, others have raised significant concerns about cost and service quality. Local users are encouraged to weigh these perspectives and potentially contact the hospital directly to discuss their specific needs and concerns before making a decision about their pet's veterinary care.

Jan 30, 2025 · Joe Katz10/10! I've decided to adopt a puppy when I moved to WO and VCA Eagle Rock has been absolutely amazing with my pup Astro. They are very welcoming and loving with my boy. Anything we needed they have always responded within minutes. Amazing facility and the front desk woman always are on top with keeping documents, payments and pet profiles up to date. I never have to worry about payments or his pet profile being outdated. Putting their professional services and customer service aside, I also feel that they are very affordable. Their care club program is absolutely amazing and honestly took the stress off my shoulders on having a high bill for each vaccine. Their care club packages are amazing and cover all the major things your pup or dog may need. I seriously recommend them as your vet and to look into their care club program. They are the best and astro loves them!! I could never bring him anywhere else. ♥️♥️
Jul 18, 2023 · Wendy HerreraPLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! If you love your pet and money please save it and go elsewhere! Problem #1 we were advised to become a care club member $161.00 monthly pay, we were told we would be saving money in the long run and the membership can be canceled at any time, after 6 months we called and decided to cancel, we were told that could not happen and the former employee was fired due to false information being spread. What does that have to do with us?! Problem #2 We were advised it would be smarter for us to get our dog spayed while we are care club members, the surgery was constantly canceled and rescheduled, at this point we felt like we were getting the runaround. Problem #3 Dr. Lynn finally performed the spay on our dog. And less than 24hrs later my dog had to be rushed to the emergency department with an admitting diagnosis of Sepsis, the admitting doctor stated “your dog would've died if you did not bring her in. $7000+ later and constantly dodging my calls Kristin Burgess the Manager stated “nothing was done wrong” PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY OR THERE IS A BIG POSSIBILITY YOU WOULD END UP WITH A DEAD DOG.

Jan 31, 2024 · Daniel BollmanThe staff are lovely but, the management is not the best. We are longtime returning customers and we havent been in a while. They changed the process and it was not explained while making the appointment. This resulted in our appointment being changed.
