I started bringing my dog here when I moved to Stamford about 3 years ago. I’ve been seeing Dr. Schmidt and she is so kind and gentle with my dog who is scared of her own shadow. The vet techs are also all great! Today Dr. Schmidt took the time out of her day to call me regarding an issue my dogs been having and got back to me quickly with possible resolutions. I’m so grateful I found her, I trust her advice and feel like my dog is in the best care with her!

VCA Davis Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to this detailed introduction of VCA Davis Animal Hospital, categorized under Pet Hospital, located at 2053 W Main St, Stamford, CT 06902, USA. This introduction aims to provide local users, particularly those in Singapore, with an objective overview of what this pet hospital might offer, based on the information available from online customer reviews. By examining these insights, you can better understand the spectrum of experiences one might encounter at a veterinary care facility and what to look for when choosing a pet hospital in your own locality.

VCA Davis Animal Hospital can be contacted via phone at (203) 327-0300 or through their mobile number, +1 203-327-0300. It's important to remember that this contact information pertains to the Stamford, Connecticut location. For pet hospital services in Singapore, you would need to search for local veterinary clinics.

The available reviews present a mixed picture of VCA Davis Animal Hospital. One customer expresses high satisfaction, particularly with Dr. Schmidt, whom they describe as kind and gentle, especially with a nervous dog. This reviewer also praises the veterinary technicians and appreciates Dr. Schmidt taking the time to follow up and offer solutions for a pet's health issue. This positive feedback suggests a caring and dedicated team, with at least one veterinarian who is thorough and considerate of both the pet's and the owner's concerns.

Conversely, another customer reports a negative experience, stating they would not recommend the hospital. This review details an instance where, despite the owner giving permission for vaccinations, the clinic insisted on a checkup first. The reviewer felt this checkup was brief and perfunctory yet was billed at what they considered an "outrageous amount." This individual perceived the practice as a "scam" with "unnecessary charges" and labeled it as "total extortion," leading them to switch to another veterinary provider where they found greater satisfaction.

Given these contrasting viewpoints, it's crucial to consider various aspects of a pet hospital when evaluating its suitability for your pet's needs:

Environment: The reviews do not offer specific details about the physical environment of VCA Davis Animal Hospital. However, typically, a pet hospital should provide a clean and organized setting conducive to the well-being of animals. This includes comfortable waiting areas, examination rooms equipped for different types of procedures, and potentially separate areas for different species to minimize stress. Without direct descriptions, we can only infer that the environment aims to be professional and functional for veterinary care.

Services: Based on the reviews, VCA Davis Animal Hospital offers at least the following services:

  • Vaccinations
  • General checkups/wellness exams
  • Diagnosis and treatment of pet health issues (implied by the follow-up call regarding a dog's problem)

As part of the VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network, it is likely that VCA Davis Animal Hospital offers a broader range of services, which could include surgical procedures, dental care, diagnostic imaging (like X-rays and ultrasounds), laboratory services, and possibly even emergency care. However, these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews.

Features: From the customer feedback, we can identify the following features:

  • Caring Veterinarians: Dr. Schmidt is noted for her kindness and gentleness.
  • Dedicated Staff: The vet techs are also mentioned positively.
  • Follow-up and Communication: Dr. Schmidt took the initiative to call a pet owner with potential solutions to a health concern.
  • However, there is also a perception of potentially high costs for services that some owners might deem minimal or unnecessary.

Promotional Information: Neither review explicitly contains promotional offers. However, the positive review acts as an indirect promotion, highlighting the compassionate care provided by Dr. Schmidt and the positive experience of a pet owner who feels their dog is in excellent hands. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note regarding potential costs and the perceived value of certain services.

For local users in Singapore seeking a pet hospital, it is advisable to look for clinics that have a consistent track record of positive feedback, particularly regarding the clarity of charges, the thoroughness of examinations, and the compassionate care provided by the veterinary staff. When choosing a pet hospital, consider asking about the costs of consultations and procedures upfront to avoid unexpected expenses. Reading multiple reviews from various sources can also provide a more balanced perspective on a clinic's services and practices.

In conclusion, VCA Davis Animal Hospital in Stamford, CT, appears to have aspects of commendable patient care, as highlighted by the positive experience with Dr. Schmidt. However, the negative review concerning billing practices and the perceived value of a mandatory checkup indicates that experiences can vary. When selecting a Pet Hospital in Singapore, it is essential to weigh factors such as the reputation of the clinic, the transparency of their pricing, the range of services offered, and the overall sentiment of other pet owners who have used their services. Researching local options and perhaps even visiting a clinic to get a feel for their environment and staff can be beneficial in making an informed decision about your pet's care.

I had a terrible experience at VCA Davis Animal Hospital and would not recommend them to anyone. I took my dog in for vaccinations and gave full permission for them to proceed, but they insisted on doing a checkup first. The so-called "checkup" lasted less than five minutes—barely any effort was made—yet they charged me an outrageous amount for it. It was minimal, lazy work with an absurd price tag. This place feels like a complete scam, preying on pet owners with unnecessary charges. Total extortion—avoid at all costs! I switched to a different place and am much happier.

I figured since this place was expensive maybe they’d take better care of my dog, wrong. I stopped coming here altogether after the vet shoved the thermometer roughly in my dog’s behind while checking his temperature because she was too busy talking to me instead of focusing where she was placing the thermometer. Because of that incident whenever I even so much as reach behind my dog he panics. I’m just so aggravated that the incident happened to begin with. It caused my dog to stop trusting anyone around his backside and it’s so upsetting.

For the most part these veterinarians are excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend VCA Davis to a friend. The only thing I find difficult are their prices which I find extremely high. However, when your dog is sick you want good competence and fast service. That they provide.

Being a dog owner and having a professional and reliable vet was a challenge, but the minute we walked in the door I knew we have found the vet we have been looking for. Dr.Alie and her tech (sorry forgot her name) were absolutely amazing & very personable. I appreciate that she did not push things and was aware of all my concerns with both of my dogs. We have 1yr old Golden retriever & a 13yr old dachshund and she was the vet they needed! I would also like to mention your staff member Rose was everything that someone that works with people and animals should be. She was so kind and patient and work through all my questions financially and appointments wise!! Rose was very very helpful! I am glad that my dogs have a vet they can depend on!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much Brittany, Siimba and Jameson!!
