VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge

Have been a client of VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory RIdge for over a year now. Turns out several of my dog training friends also go to Dr. Kelso as their veterinarian. She is very experienced, knowledgeable, listens to all my questions and concerns, and is a wonderful combination of expertise and warmth. I am a retired physician so I have lots of questions. Dr. Kelso is patient and allows me to ask questions of the treatment plan so that we can come to something that we are both comfortable with. Both my rescue mixes compete in various dog sports and Dr. Kelso understands the demands of that, being a competitive handler herself. Completely satisfied and pleased with Dr. Kelso as our primary vet. Saw Dr. Moldenhauer for an emergency allergic reaction visit and she was reassuring and took good care of my dog. The support staff and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this practice.

I've been a very satisfied customer of VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge since 1985 (40 years)! While providing care for our 14 cat and dog family members throughout the years, all of their veterinarians have always been first class as pertains to their knowledge, skill, professionalism, friendliness, and compassion. Beginning with Dr. David Tayman, up through Dr. Nancy Kelso, and including their other veterinarians and wonderful, warmhearted staff members, I give VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge my highest recommendation.

The staff were excellent and friendly, and I appreciated the service of the vet and vet tech. However, the charge for office visits here is more than double of other reputable vet offices, and I was surprised by the bill at check-out. I would have appreciated full transparency of the high cost of office visits at some time prior to checking out.

It’s so hard to find a human doctor- let alone a Vet- that is as accessible and consistent as this place is. We’ve taken our cats here for years now and every time I visit I am reminded how lucky we are to have found them. VCA HR is definitely not the cheapest vet- but they’re affordable enough & the level of care is unmatched. Cannot recommend this practice more if you’re looking for a new vet.

Spoke to staff months ago for a price quote for non-urgent testing. Prices were fair enough to wait months for a future appointment. Closer to appointment time. Estimate e-mailed. Price is double what was initially quoted. Now the required deposit due before the appointment is close to the total that was initially quoted. After waiting months for this appointment. This is very disappointing. I can understand a quote is a reference number range. But doubling the quoted price? I feel purposefully mislead by cost being misrepresented by one half of the total cost. Customer Beware of Prices with this practice!
