I brought my American bully Baby here yesterday because she got attacked by a dog & it made me extremely emotional. The staff was great & so were the dr’s. They answered all my questions & are able to work with pricing a little bit here for it being a hospital. I can’t thank this place enough for the wreck of a day we had yesterday & them being comforting for my reactive dog was extremely helpful with this process. I would highly recommend this place & if I ever had something happen again I would go here. They even made her leg cute for us which put a smile on my face picking her up.

I wanted to update the VCA Los Alamos team about our sweet Charlie girl. VCA as a brand is an expensive hospital, but the staff are so caring. After my husband accidentally ran over our pup pulling in our driveway, with our 6 year old in tow, we brought our Charlie in and waited in anxiety in the lobby for answers. Linda, the financial coordinator, was the sweetest. She gave me a large hug and understood all of my concerns and was able to translate them to the doctor. We decided that hospitalizing her overnight was not the best choice for our family at that time. All of the vet techs had tips and tricks to get her as happy and comfortable as possible. They told me to call anytime that night if I got worried. I followed up with a primary care vet a week later and 8 weeks later Charlie is running, jumping, playing and back to the dog I really never thought I’d see again. The staff from VCA helped me make informed decisions as a pet owner, while being compassionate and nonjudgmental. The care plans they put together and recommendations changed Charlie’s outcome for the better. I hope to never have an emergency where I need them again, but if I do I’m glad they are there

I had arrived here almost 9pm at night, after noticing something wrong with my cat, the staff was so friendly and were very friendly with my pet I was informed every step of what was happening, they let me know every choice was mine to make and I wasn’t pressured to pay anything unnecessary to his treatment, unfortunately I had to put my cat down, they gave my little family a private room said I can take as much time needed to say goodbye. The staff was absolutely amazing.

Hey vca remember Thor the puppy that came in after being mauled by 3 dogs. While his owner was in ct buying a home he was attacked and his grandma and kid brought him in. You quoted this military family 13000at first.then bare basic put us in 9k range. You guilted us for not having the funds and recommended to just put him down . It be easier he’s in pain. Because he might not get better and it would take 3 months to know for sure. He got his surgery for 3400 the fallowing day in oceanside and I’m sure Thor would go through a day of pain again for a lifetime of joy. Well Thor just turned one . And every month I sit and think this is (X) amount of time he would have been dead. He’s now living in ct on his 5 acre farm and loving his kids and livestock everyday. He loves trips to Lowe’s and to kids reading time at the library. Thor has the empathy I wish you had for me. Those 3 pits have killed scenes then. Thor was attacked while asleep against the fence . He was all better in 2 months and traveled across country at 5 weeks post accident. Here’s some photos of the dog that should have been put down because his recovery would have been to much work. And all customers who feel defeated because a traumatic thing happened on a Sunday. If your willing to fight for your dog. Get some pain meds. Get them hydrated and stay up all night fight for them . Thor lost 1 1/2 ears the skin on top of his head. And almost all the skin on top of his neck. But he made it. Fight for your pup if he can if you can.

I had to take by dog Bruce in an emergency because he wouldn't stop vomiting and stopped eating. First every one of the employees were awesome, caring, and did what they could to help out. Unfortunately just like most human medical services veterinary services it's just as highly flawed. Biggest was the wait, As your loved pet is continuing to go down hill unless you had an appointment it's an 2-4hour wait. As our dog was able to walk in, as we waited he became worse and was too weak to walk when it was his time to be seen. Next is the cost. Because he was so weak they needed to stabilize him with fluids before they could do any further examination. This would've cost $1,600 alone. Then there would've been the costs of any future tests on top of that then the treatments and by then you're probably already looking at several thousands more. So while your pet is suffering and your heart is breaking you're agonizing over how you can afford just to get started. I don't pretend to know what theirs or any other medical services profit margin must be but it's messed up with how much it is at the worst moments of your lives. The systems must change. We had to take the option that we dreaded and that was to put our baby Bruce to sleep. This they excelled with in their comfort and caring and really helped making his journey over the rainbow Bridge as peaceful as possible. I miss you Bruce an wish we could've done more or just something but glad you are finally at peace.
