The first vet didn't bother to tell me that my dog was dying. Had me take her home for the night only to return for a follow up the next day when a different vet broke the news. As a result I wasn't able to talk to my husband who was working out of cell service. If the first vet hadn't been a chicken and told me the truth, I could have had a conversation with my husband instead of having to make that difficult decision by myself. There's a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things. She was only 5 and 1/2 years old and there was no reason to think that she was as ill as she was. She was jogging with me a week before she died...

It is important to consider all available feedback when evaluating a Pet Hospital. The provided reviews for VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital present a mixed perspective. One reviewer shared a deeply upsetting experience where they felt the initial veterinarian did not communicate the seriousness of their dog's condition, leading to a delay in informing their spouse and the distress of making a difficult decision alone. This review raises concerns about communication and the sensitivity of delivering critical medical information.

Another reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with a check-up appointment. They felt the focus was primarily on selling medication rather than a thorough examination. This client reported that their pet's temperature was not taken and that the veterinarian seemed unsure during the consultation. Additionally, they mentioned a significant wait time despite arriving on time for their appointment. This feedback suggests potential issues with appointment efficiency and the perceived thoroughness of examinations.

Given that the provided information consists solely of these two negative reviews, it is challenging to objectively detail the typical environment, services, and features of VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital based on this data alone. However, drawing from the general characteristics of a Pet Hospital and the VCA network, one might expect:

  • A facility equipped for examinations, diagnostics, and potentially surgery.
  • Services such as preventative care (vaccinations, parasite control), medical care for illnesses, and possibly surgical and dental procedures.
  • Access to the resources and standards associated with the VCA network.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge the concerns raised in the reviews regarding communication, the thoroughness of examinations, and appointment wait times. These points should be taken into consideration by local users when evaluating their options for pet care.

Took my pet in for a check up and they did not seemed concerned with anything besides trying to sell me medicine for the animal. Didnt take the temperature , just talked away sounding like she didnt know what the vet was talking about. Also arrived on time for appointment and waited about 35 mins to even see anybody.

I cannot say enough about the excellence of care we received. We brought both our beagles for a well exam. Both dogs love to bark and it's embarrassing at times! They made us feel completely welcome even with our screaming beagles. After we left my one dog actually got his dewclaw snagged in my other dogs harness on the car ride. We turned right back around and they helped our little boy and wrapped up his paw even though they had just closed. They were happy to be there for our dog and Dr Clegg was just the most wonderful vet. Only friendliness at this office. Will be coming back and will always recommend.

I want to sincerely thank the entire team at VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital for the exceptional care and attention they gave to our dog, Ollie. We are truly grateful for everything they did to ensure Ollie’s comfort and smooth recovery. Knowing he was in such capable hands brought my wife and me immense peace of mind. Highly recommend this clinic for their outstanding service!
