Everyone at Bath Animal Hospital has been very kind and courteous and helpful. I can’t say much about the costs compared to other vets because I’ve never gone anywhere else. Dr. Walsh has always been honest and kind. I don’t feel like they try to sell me things I don’t need. I don’t feel like they ask me to do tests that aren’t needed. They explain to me what’s going on and give us options. I have witnessed firsthand the compassion and caring they have for animals. When we arrived at the difficult decision to have our beloved dog put to sleep, they were there for us, they made accommodations for us, they explained everything. We were treated with respect and compassion. Our dog was able to pass peacefully with his family of 5 at his side. It’s not just my family, because I have been in the waiting room when a client came in with a terminally ill pet. I saw the compassionate way the staff and Dr treated this person too. They politely explained to me that there was an emergency and the doctor would be with us as soon as possible. I didn’t mind. I can’t say how they might react if we came in with the expectation that we didn’t need to pay for services the same day. I know if there was something really expensive they can connect you to care credit. I don’t think anyone can run a business these days and not get payment for services right away. In my opinion, the people at Bath VCA are good people who do good work. We’ve been bringing our pets there for a dozen or so years and we will continue to do so.

A significant feature of VCA Bath Animal Hospital is the honesty and integrity of our veterinarians, particularly highlighted through the positive experiences with Dr. Walsh. Clients appreciate that they do not feel pressured to pursue unnecessary treatments or tests. Dr. Walsh and our team are committed to thoroughly explaining your pet's condition, presenting you with all available options, and providing clear and honest recommendations. This transparent approach empowers you to make informed decisions about your pet's care, ensuring that you feel confident and secure in the treatment plan.
Compassion and empathy are at the core of our values at VCA Bath Animal Hospital. We understand that there are times when you may face difficult decisions regarding your pet's health. The deeply moving account of a client navigating the painful process of saying goodbye to their beloved dog underscores the exceptional compassion and support provided by our team during such sensitive times. We make accommodations to ensure you and your family can be present and comfortable, we explain every step of the process with sensitivity, and we treat you and your pet with the utmost respect and care. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and dignified passing for your beloved companion while offering solace and understanding to you.
The reviews also highlight the consistent demonstration of compassion not just towards our established clients but also towards others in need. A client in the waiting room witnessed firsthand the caring way our staff and doctors treated someone who came in with a terminally ill pet. We understand that emergencies can arise, and we strive to communicate clearly and respectfully with all clients, ensuring everyone feels acknowledged and informed.
VCA Bath Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services to address the diverse health needs of your pets. While specific details about the clinic's environment and equipment are not explicitly mentioned, as part of the VCA network, we maintain high standards for our facilities and utilize modern veterinary practices to deliver quality care. Our services likely include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's individual needs, parasite prevention programs, and nutritional counseling to support your pet's overall health and well-being.
Beyond preventative care, we are equipped to handle a variety of diagnostic needs. While specific diagnostic tools are not detailed in the reviews, a full-service pet hospital typically offers in-house laboratory services for timely results on blood work and other tests, as well as imaging capabilities such as digital radiography (X-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of internal conditions. These resources allow our veterinarians to accurately assess your pet's health and develop effective treatment plans.
Our medical and surgical services encompass the treatment of various illnesses and injuries. We provide care for common ailments as well as more complex medical conditions. For surgical needs, we offer a range of procedures, from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to addressing various soft tissue and other surgical requirements. Our focus is on ensuring the safety and comfort of your pet throughout any surgical procedure, with careful attention to pain management and post-operative care.
A key feature of VCA Bath Animal Hospital, as consistently mentioned by our clients, is the genuine care and personal connection we establish with you and your pets. The anecdote about the staff remembering a client and offering condolences for a previous loss demonstrates the level of personal attention and empathy you can expect. We are not a "treat them and street them" facility; we take the time to get to know you and your pet, understand your concerns, and provide thorough explanations. This personalized approach fosters trust and ensures that you feel like a valued member of our VCA Bath Animal Hospital family.
Regarding costs, one client mentioned that while our prices may not be the absolute lowest, they believe in the adage "you get what you pay for" and value the top-quality care their pets receive with us. They explicitly advise against choosing a clinic solely based on price if your priority is the health and well-being of your animal. We strive to provide excellent value for the services we offer, ensuring that your pet receives the highest standard of care. For significant expenses, we can connect you with CareCredit, a healthcare credit card that offers financing options.
Currently, there are no specific promotional offers mentioned in the provided reviews. However, our commitment to providing honest, compassionate, and high-quality veterinary care, coupled with the positive experiences shared by our long-term clients, speaks volumes about the value of choosing VCA Bath Animal Hospital for your pet's healthcare needs. We encourage you to contact us at (207) 443-9006 or +1 207-443-9006 to learn more about our services and how we can best care for your beloved animal companions. Feb 01, 2025 · kendra steelI really like this place. Everyone who works there is super nice, and they actually care about your fur kids. This place is NOT a "treat them and street them" kind of place. When I walked in with my new kitten, everyone remembered me from last year and gave me condolences because they put my other cat down. That's how you know you've found a great place. They take their time to explain everything and make sure you understand everything. The prices are not wicked high, but remember, you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks knowing my fur baby is getting top quality care. So if you're looking to save money rather than save your animal, don't come to Bath Animal Hospital. Go to a cheap clinic. These people love your pet like you should.
Feb 19, 2022 · Autumn SnyderVery friendly staff. While certainly professional, they have also been casual with us in a reasonable and comforting way. Definitely liked to see them even if my cats might have preferred to stay home!
Nov 11, 2022 · E. W.Dr.Welsh is extremely rude and condescending. I would NOT trust any of my pets under his care, he is not animal/family oriented. He didn’t give any advice to improve my cats health, instead he berated me on the phone whilst I was at work and concerned about my senior cats test results. Very unprofessional, the technicians and front desk woman are lovely but this experience has made me rethink ever entrusting this establishment in the health of my fur babies.
Oct 24, 2024 · April ChaistyI wish there was an option for negative stars. This is the most uncaring, money hungry vet office I have experienced. They are currently refusing to refill a prescription that has refills available unless we bring our dog in to be seen, which they won't do for a couple of weeks. Our dog has a yearly skin condition that flares at this time of year and causes him extreme discomfort to the point of him ripping out hair and skin. This medication is the only thing we've found to be helpful and it's only helpful if we start it as soon as he shows symptoms. When we asked if they expected him to suffer, the response was "yea". I wish this was my only complaint. Alas, there is more. They require that we sedate our dog heavily in order to bring him in to be seen and the bill before he is even seen is over a hundred dollars. It should be noted that no other vet has sedated him for a regular visit. They also claimed he was anemic and made us do monthly blood draws to test with the expectation that we would next do a bone marrow draw. We found out that he is in fact not anemic upon bringing him into the emergency vet for an unrelated concern. This is a money hungry, scamming, uncaring office. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
