Hobbes the cat has been a patient here for nine years since moving from Chicago. He gets top-notch care every time he visits. The vets, techs, and office staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and very nice.

I took my cat here because she was having trouble breathing and had what I assumed was a bad sprain (I watch WAY too many vet shows, lol) and was pleasantly surprised with their staff. I also have a dog with diabetes & have very little funds leftover for other vet bills in my budget. So, I came here because they had advertised a free first office visit/exam on their website. My cat had been acting extremely standoffish that day due to her pain, and the techs & doc both handled her so gingerly that she was like putty in their hands. She doesn't even do that for me! My kitty's heart was beating so fast, dangerously fast, that it was difficult for the vet to count the pulse but i think was around 250 bpm! She definitely sprained her shoulder thanks to this new Maine coon my family inherited from a death in the family, and i didn't get an x-ray due to lack of funds but surely has asthma. Doc also found a heart murmur that no other vet had found, and my kitty will be eight yrs old this month. That's a lot of other vets who didn't catch this murmur. My cat's brother died last year for no apparent reason, and we're now thinking we finally know why. Whatever my sweet girl has is hereditary and probably passed to all or most of the litter mates. I've been referred to a vet cardiologist, but i don't yet have that kind of money. It was recommended that we wait for the asthma treatment until after we know exactly what's wrong with her heart because albuterol can raise the pulse, which could be catastrophic since hers is already elevated. I'm just so glad i went to VCA. They obviously know what they're doing and know the importance of treating the patient as well as indulge the owner with perfect balance. This is a great place to take your pets, at least your cat! I HIGHLY recommend VCA Bal-Coeur!

We were traveling to the area to visit family and our dog had some stomach problems that required care. We called and they were able to get him in within 3 hours. They were extremely caring and spent time trying to help with the problem. Because it was not an easy diagnosis, they gave us a print out for emergency care in the area just in case he turned for the worse after hours. The staff just seemed to live their jobs. Everyone wanted to stop by and give him love (he is adorable 😍 so I understand). They even called the next day to check on him!

I ended up switching to a different vet office after some frustrations with various aspects of this clinic. Upon getting my dog’s records, I saw that his teeth were never examined and it was noted as “muzzled” on the medical records. Disappointed as I was never told that a full exam was not able to be completed after paying for them. Nor did I know that my dog required being muzzled. Happy to have found a new vet that performs exams in the room and does not require my dog to be muzzled.
