Staff was great had to take my cat in for an emergency and they was there every step of the way and worked with us to figure out cost to get her into surgery. Unfortunately some issues came up and she wasn’t strong enough to handle the surgery and in the middle of the night had to come back after they closed to say goodbye and let her go. The staff was amazing the whole time we never felt rushed saying goodbye and they was very caring the whole process. They truly care about the animals that come through their doors.

Welcome to VCA All Pet Emergency Center

Welcome to VCA All Pet Emergency Center, a Pet Hospital located at 104 S Heidelbach Ave in Evansville, Indiana. As an emergency-focused Pet Hospital, VCA All Pet Emergency Center is dedicated to providing immediate veterinary care for pets in critical situations outside of regular clinic hours. While specific details about the environment aren't extensively provided in the reviews, you can expect a facility equipped to handle emergency medical and surgical needs, including examination rooms, a surgical suite, diagnostic imaging capabilities, and areas for critical care and monitoring. The primary focus of an emergency center is to address urgent health issues requiring immediate attention.

As an emergency Pet Hospital, the core services offered by VCA All Pet Emergency Center are centered around stabilizing and treating pets facing acute medical or surgical emergencies. This includes immediate assessment, diagnostic procedures such as blood work and imaging (though the availability and cost of specific tests can vary, as indicated in one review), and a range of treatments, including surgery when necessary. Emergency centers are typically staffed to handle critical cases that cannot wait for a regular veterinary appointment. They often operate during evenings, weekends, and holidays when primary care veterinary clinics are closed.

The customer reviews present contrasting experiences at VCA All Pet Emergency Center. One reviewer shared a deeply emotional experience of bringing their cat in for an emergency. They praised the staff for being "great" and supportive "every step of the way," including working with them on the cost of surgery. Even when the outcome was unfavorable and they had to return in the middle of the night to say goodbye, the staff was described as "amazing," never making them feel rushed and being "very caring throughout the whole process." This positive account highlights the compassion and dedication of some of the team at the emergency center, emphasizing that "They truly care about the animals that come through their doors."

However, another review details a less positive initial interaction. This customer brought their unresponsive dog to the center and described the receptionist as unkind and seemingly unconcerned. The reviewer reported being immediately informed of the costs for an examination and blood work without any offer of comfort or apparent worry about the pet's critical condition. This experience left the customer feeling as though the staff member was more focused on the financial aspect than the urgency of the situation. This review raises concerns about the consistency of the initial reception and the level of empathy shown to pet owners in distress.

Based on these reviews, the features of VCA All Pet Emergency Center as an emergency Pet Hospital include:

  • Emergency Focus: Dedicated to providing immediate care for critical pet health issues.
  • Surgical Capabilities: Equipped to perform emergency surgeries.
  • Diagnostic Services: Likely offers blood work and other diagnostic procedures.
  • 24/7 Availability: As an emergency center, they typically operate outside of regular business hours.
  • Caring Staff (in some instances): Some staff members are described as great, amazing, and very caring.

However, it's also important to note a potential area for improvement:

  • Inconsistent Reception: One reviewer reported an unkind and seemingly unconcerned receptionist.

My dog was unresponsive the entire 45 minute drive to Evansville. When we went in she started moving around a bit. We don't know what she got into but when I explained what was going on, the receptionist said that there could be too many things that my dog got into. She wasn't kind or seemed worried. She just immediately told me it would be $200 to see her (which was fine) and $450 for blood work. She just seemed so annoyed that we were there and didn't offer any comfort. It was like she was telling us this insane amount of money for blood work so we would leave. My dog is still very sick and isn't walking and I have to hope she makes it to Monday so I can get her to a place that cares about her.

Took my sweet, almost 4yr old, Shih Tzu in recently for symptoms of fever, lethargic, shivering, and diarrhea. Dr. Marshall was very attentive and thorough. She was very direct about what she had done and what she recommended. I appreciated her honesty and her willingness to go above and beyond. 10/10 recommend her!

I visited Evansville’s VCA All Pet Emergency Center with my cat who was showing signs of urinary blockage. He was seen immediately and we were kept up to date all throughout the process. Alex at the front desk was so kind and helpful, and Justin and Dr. Flick were wonderful! The atmosphere was very welcoming and supportive all around. I would recommend VCA’s All Pet Emergency Center to anyone needing after-hours urgent pet care!
