Would not recommend this facility to anyone. Cancelled scheduled appointments too many times. So glad made the choice not to enroll in the insurance plan they offered.

They also offer Saturday hours, generally 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, though it's advised to call for exact availability as these are on an every-other-Saturday basis. The clinic is closed on Sundays.
Regarding the environment, while explicit descriptive details from reviews are limited, VCA Adams Animal Hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a designation that indicates adherence to stringent standards in areas like facilities, equipment, and medical protocols. This accreditation suggests a well-maintained and professionally equipped environment designed to support high-quality veterinary medicine. Furthermore, the hospital is "AAFP Certified Gold Cat Friendly" and staffed with "Fear Free Certified Professionals." These certifications indicate a conscious effort to create a less stressful and more comfortable environment for pets, particularly cats, by implementing practices that minimize fear, anxiety, and stress during visits. This means the clinic likely has dedicated cat-friendly spaces, uses gentle handling techniques, and employs strategies to make veterinary visits a more positive experience for anxious animals. The mention of practicing "hands-free radiographs" further supports their commitment to minimizing stress and enhancing safety for both pets and staff.
The services offered at VCA Adams Animal Hospital are comprehensive, covering various stages of a pet's life, from puppy and kittenhood through adulthood and senior years. As a full-service "Pet Hospital," their offerings typically include:
- Preventative Care: This is a cornerstone of their services, encompassing routine wellness exams, tailored vaccination protocols, effective flea and tick control, and recommendations for parasite prevention. They offer "New Kitten and New Puppy Packages," emphasizing early and comprehensive care.
- Diagnostic Services: The hospital provides a wide range of diagnostic capabilities to accurately identify health issues. This includes in-house laboratory testing for quick results, utilization of outside labs for specialized tests, digital radiography (X-rays), including dental radiographs, and ultrasound capabilities.
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are available to maintain optimal oral health, which is crucial for overall well-being.
- General Surgery: The facility is equipped with an on-site surgical suite to perform various general surgical procedures.
- Anesthesia: They utilize modern anesthesia protocols, including Sevoflurane anesthesia, with careful monitoring to ensure pet safety during procedures.
- Adult and Senior Wellness: Tailored care plans for adult and aging pets, focusing on early detection and management of age-related conditions.
- Acupuncture: This alternative therapy is offered as a complementary treatment option for various conditions.
- Hospice Care and Pet Loss Support: While not explicitly detailed, the mention of pet loss support suggests they provide compassionate care during a pet's end-of-life journey, helping owners navigate this difficult time.
- In-House Pharmacy: A fully stocked pharmacy on-site ensures convenient access to necessary medications.
- Carefully Monitored Inpatient Area: For pets requiring hospitalization, a dedicated area ensures they receive continuous care and observation.
- Microchipping: A vital service for pet identification and recovery.
- Diet and Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets and nutrition for pets at different life stages and with specific health needs.
A key feature highlighted by customer reviews is the exceptional patience and knowledge of Dr. Pat and the entire staff. One reviewer specifically notes, "Our cat and dog are not easy to deal with (both street rescues with hard histories) but Dr Pat is great with them. Very patient and knowledgeable." This demonstrates a deep understanding of animal behavior, particularly for anxious or previously traumatized pets, and a commitment to handling them with gentleness and expertise. The phrase "The staff is as well and always very friendly" further underscores the positive and supportive interactions clients and their pets experience, creating a reassuring atmosphere even for challenging animals. This emphasis on patience and a fear-free approach is a significant differentiator, especially for owners of pets with behavioral sensitivities.
However, it is important to acknowledge that one review indicates a potential issue with "cancelled scheduled appointments too many times." While this is a single piece of feedback, it suggests that clients should be aware of possible scheduling changes and confirm appointments. Despite this, the positive feedback regarding the quality of care and staff interaction remains strong from other clients.
Another notable feature is their AAHA accreditation. This rigorous process voluntarily undertaken by veterinary hospitals ensures that they meet strict standards in areas like patient care, facility operations, and diagnostic capabilities, signifying a commitment to the highest quality of veterinary medicine. Their "AAFP Certified Gold Cat Friendly" status demonstrates specialized attention to creating a low-stress environment specifically for felines, which is a significant benefit for cat owners.
For promotional information, the most compelling aspect of VCA Adams Animal Hospital is the consistent praise for Dr. Pat's and the staff's patient, knowledgeable, and friendly approach. The satisfaction expressed by owners of difficult-to-handle rescue animals is a powerful endorsement of their empathetic care and expertise. The phrase "We're glad we have them to go to" succinctly captures the sense of relief and trust clients feel when they find a veterinary team that can effectively manage their pets' unique needs. The hospital's affiliation with VCA provides access to broader resources and a network of expertise, which can be implicitly promotional for potential clients seeking a well-supported and established veterinary practice. Additionally, VCA often offers a "FREE First Exam" for new clients, a common promotional offer within their network, which can be an excellent incentive for pet owners to experience their services firsthand. The clear articulation of their comprehensive services, from preventative care to advanced diagnostics, also serves as strong promotional material, showcasing their capability to cater to diverse pet health requirements.

Mar 15, 2022 · Richard DonatiVCA does a great job of caring for pets. Even though they have a lot of patients each time I bring one of my pups, they take time to really listen to my concerns and investigate the problem all the while keeping the financial cost in mind. Really excellent choice for your doggie care!!
Mar 22, 2024 · Noelle Nordstrom-RamosWhen I first started here with all my pets they were great, I had a vet appointment today. Less than 5 min with the actual vet. She was new to the practice (I think, have never seen before) never introduced herself, never addressed me. Never addressed the thyroid issue my pup was there for, just said ‘she has some tarter on her teeth, schedule a cleaning, and oh yeah, she is chubby’. Well yes, she is chubby she has a thyroid issue, that is why we are her and did you notice she had last 5 pounds??? Nope, was gone from the room before I could ask. Thought she would come back, but she did not. Took the techs (who I admire most times) 20 minutes and 3 tries to take her bloodwork. Then I was told I/we were done. $490 later I said I did not get questions answered and was told I need another appointment. WTH?
