Love this Vet! Best prices in NY. Not only that, the Dr’s are kind, empathetic, friendly, and informative. My Chihuahua is extremely difficult to handle when he doesn’t want to do something ie:get his nails trimmed, and the techs and Dr’s handle him so well! He always leaves with a wagging tail!!! This vet is a godsend, even if I move out of the area, this will be the only vet that I visit with my little terror baby Chucky. Best Vet in NYC hands down. Thanks again from Erik, Chucky, and Jonesy.

As a vital part of the local pet care ecosystem, Value Veterinary Clinic aims to provide a comprehensive suite of services to ensure the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. Operating under the category of a full-service Pet Hospital, the clinic offers a range of medical and surgical care, supported by a team of veterinary professionals and accessible facilities. Understanding the environment of a pet hospital is crucial for pet owners seeking care. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance and facilities are not explicitly provided, it is typical for a pet hospital to maintain a clean and organized environment to ensure the safety and comfort of both pets and their owners. These facilities generally include examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for administering medications and minor procedures, surgical suites equipped for various operations, and potentially in-house diagnostic capabilities such as laboratory services and imaging equipment. The goal is to create a space where pets can receive the necessary medical attention in a setting that minimizes stress as much as possible.
The services offered by a pet hospital like Value Veterinary Clinic typically encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care. These commonly include preventative care services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations tailored to the specific needs of different animals, parasite prevention (including heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling. Early detection and prevention are key to maintaining the long-term health of pets. Beyond preventative measures, a pet hospital also provides diagnostic services to identify illnesses and injuries. This can involve physical examinations, laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), and imaging techniques like X-rays. Based on the diagnosis, appropriate medical treatments are administered, which may include medications, therapies, and specialized care.
For more complex health issues, Value Veterinary Clinic, as a pet hospital, likely offers surgical services. This can range from routine procedures such as spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries and potentially orthopedic procedures. The availability of surgical services often indicates the presence of qualified veterinary surgeons and well-equipped operating rooms with anesthesia monitoring capabilities. Dental care is another critical aspect of pet health, and many pet hospitals provide services such as dental cleanings, extractions, and treatment of dental diseases. Furthermore, in times of unexpected illness or injury, a pet hospital often provides emergency and critical care services, ensuring that pets can receive timely medical attention when it matters most.
The features that distinguish a pet hospital can often be gleaned from customer experiences. One review praises Value Veterinary Clinic for its "best prices in NY" and highlights the kindness, empathy, friendliness, and informative nature of the doctors. The reviewer specifically mentions the staff's ability to handle a difficult Chihuahua during nail trims, noting that the pet "always leaves with a wagging tail." This positive feedback suggests that the clinic prioritizes both the pet's well-being and the owner's experience, fostering a sense of trust and satisfaction. The reviewer's strong endorsement, stating it's the "Best Vet in NYC hands down," indicates a high level of perceived value and care.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective, and another review expresses significant dissatisfaction and trauma regarding the care received. This customer recounts taking their dog for annual vaccinations and claims the dog developed a dislocated patella during the visit. The review details a lack of immediate communication about the incident and expresses concerns about the explanation provided regarding a "crack" heard during a nail trim attempt. The customer further alleges that the veterinarian did not come out to speak with them promptly and later suggested a potential need for surgery without admitting wrongdoing. This negative experience raises serious concerns about the clinic's communication practices, the standard of care provided in this specific instance, and the handling of complications.
It is crucial for prospective local users to consider both positive and negative feedback when evaluating a pet hospital. While one customer lauds the clinic for its compassionate and effective care, another reports a distressing experience with a significant injury allegedly occurring during a routine visit. Objective assessment requires acknowledging both sides of these experiences. The positive review emphasizes affordability and a caring, skilled staff capable of handling even difficult pets, resulting in a positive outcome for the animal. Conversely, the negative review details a painful injury, perceived lack of transparency, and dissatisfaction with the veterinarian's response.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the given text. Typically, a pet hospital might promote its services through various channels, such as its website, local advertising, or community events. Promotions could include discounts on initial consultations, vaccination packages, or seasonal offers on specific services like dental cleanings. They might also highlight special features such as extended hours, specialized equipment, or the expertise of their veterinary team. Without specific promotional details, we can only infer that Value Veterinary Clinic likely aims to attract local users by emphasizing its comprehensive care, experienced staff (as suggested by the positive review), and potentially its competitive pricing.
In conclusion, Value Veterinary Clinic in Bronx, NY, operates as a Pet Hospital offering a range of veterinary services, including preventative care, diagnostics, medical treatments, surgery, and dental care. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one praising the clinic for its affordability, compassionate staff, and positive outcomes, while another reports a traumatic experience involving an injury to their pet and dissatisfaction with the communication and care provided. Local users are advised to consider these varying perspectives and potentially seek further information or clarification when making decisions about their pet's healthcare needs. It is always recommended to have open communication with any veterinary care provider to ensure the best possible health outcomes for your animal companion.

Feb 01, 2025 · Erik AlvarezI'm beyond traumatized with the care of my dog at Value Veterinary Clinic. I took my dog in for his annual vaccinations(first time there), and he came out with a dislocated patella. FYI..., they never told me what happened in the backroom until I questioned why my dog was limping. The vet techs carried and handed him to me, didn't say a word. When I placed him on the floor, leashed him, and was about to walk out, I noticed him limping. When I asked the front desk receptionist, she said "Oh, it's just from the vaccination". I said "really? I need to speak to the vet." They then had the vet tech come out and explain why he was limping. He said when they were attempting to cut his nails, and they heard a crack. So then they asked the vet to help. They heard another crack. When I asked to speak with the vet, she never came out after I waited over 20 minutes. I went home, and returned after seeing how my dog couldn’t walk anymore. Again, I waited for the vet over 45 minutes. She comes over and admitted what transpired and she then recommended I bring the dog back in two to three weeks if he hasn’t fully recovered his leg injury, and then we can talk about surgery. I should’ve sued them but didn’t because the courts few pets as property. The vet knows this. Instead she said my dog has an history of leg problems. That was my first and only visit. The dishonest vet named Cara Bunning negligently denied any wrong doing. Cara if you’re reading this review please feel free to respond. I have videos of my dog before and after the visit to your office visit. After my dog’s visit, he never recovered because he’s an older dog. In fact his health has gone down because he can’t walk and you tried to squeeze more money on an injury your office committed. Shame on you. Cara Bunning, your office is a disgrace and a hazard to all pet owners who expect care for their loved ones. They’re not property or just another invoice, they’re our family members. Hopefully one day you’ll come to understand the damage you’ve done.
Apr 09, 2025 · Citizen XMy dog puked 15 times in one day and then didn’t eaten or drink for days. I was hesitant to take him to the vet because of cost. I gave in and took him after it was clear he wasn’t getting better. He was diagnosed with having swallowed something at the vet near me in Manhattan. They recommended rushing him to the hospital for surgery and estimated the cost to be around 10k. I am currently a student with no income and was so scared when I heard this price. Damon is only 2-3 years old and I was not ready to let him go. This was Sunday night. I made the choice to wait until Monday morning and call around to low cost vet options. I found Value Vet Clinic who was able to get me in same day for surgery! Dr Bunning was amazing, clearly telling us the price up front, giving us details about how the surgery went, giving us great aftercare, etc. Dr Bunning saved my Damon’s life! Damon is now eating again, happy, and back to his normal self. Thanks value vet clinic!

The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. They truly care for the animals that are taken to be seen at their clinic. The services I needed for my pets were excellent and the wait time for the services I needed were not long which is great! I will continue to come here and make sure that all my pets are seen and receiving the care and treatments from this clinic so my pets can have a full quality, healthy and happy life!
