Update: Since they went 24/7 their prices have skyrocketed. I asked for a quote on a C-section and they wouldn't give it to me until the X-ray appointment. $180 later they tell me the C-Section will be $4500-5000. They have become money grabbers just like everywhere else. ------ This is my old review- Valley Vet takes excellent care of my German Shepherds

Welcome to Valley Veterinary Associates
Welcome to the introduction of Valley Veterinary Associates, a Pet Hospital located at 647 NY-7, Unadilla, NY 13849, USA. Serving the local community and beyond, Valley Veterinary Associates aims to provide a range of veterinary services for your beloved animal companions. You can reach them by phone at (607) 563-1345 or their mobile number +1 607-563-1345.
As a Pet Hospital, Valley Veterinary Associates falls under the category of establishments dedicated to the health and well-being of animals. These facilities typically offer a variety of medical and surgical services, preventative care, and sometimes even retail sections for pet-related goods. Understanding the environment, services, and features of a pet hospital is crucial for pet owners seeking the best possible care for their furry, scaled, or feathered friends.
Based on available information, including customer reviews, we can attempt to paint a picture of what Valley Veterinary Associates offers. It's important to note that customer experiences can vary, and it's always recommended to conduct your own research and potentially visit the facility to form your own opinion.
One recent review expresses concern regarding a potential increase in prices and a lack of upfront cost information for a specific procedure (C-section) following their transition to 24/7 service. The reviewer mentions an initial $180 charge for an X-ray appointment, followed by a quote of $4500-5000 for the C-section, leading to the perception of the clinic becoming a "money grabber." This perspective highlights the importance for pet owners to inquire about pricing and understand the costs associated with different treatments and procedures.
In contrast, an older review offers a positive perspective, stating that "Valley Vet takes excellent care of my German Shepherds." This suggests that the clinic has a history of providing quality care, at least for some patients. Another review echoes this sentiment, describing the staff as "the nicest people" and commending their caring and respectful approach during a difficult time when the reviewer had to euthanize their dog. This positive feedback indicates that the clinic values compassionate care and client support during sensitive moments.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, it's possible that Valley Veterinary Associates has undergone changes, or perhaps different clients have had different experiences based on the specific services they required and the circumstances of their visit. It underscores the need for prospective clients to gather comprehensive information and consider their individual needs when choosing a veterinary care provider.
While specific details about the clinic's environment are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, a typical pet hospital environment aims to be clean, comfortable, and safe for animals. This usually includes examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for procedures, surgical suites, and potentially boarding or recovery areas. The overall atmosphere should ideally be one that minimizes stress for both pets and their owners.
Regarding services, based on the nature of a pet hospital and the mention of a C-section, it can be inferred that Valley Veterinary Associates likely offers a range of medical and surgical services. These may include:
- Routine check-ups and vaccinations to maintain your pet's health and prevent diseases.
- Diagnostic services, such as X-rays (as mentioned in the review), laboratory tests, and potentially ultrasound or other imaging techniques to identify health issues.
- Surgical procedures, ranging from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex operations, as indicated by the C-section example.
- Dental care, which is crucial for the overall health of pets.
- Emergency care, especially if they now offer 24/7 services as suggested by the updated review. This would be a significant feature for pet owners facing urgent medical situations.
- Management of chronic illnesses and ongoing medical conditions.
- Euthanasia and palliative care, as highlighted by the compassionate experience shared in one of the reviews.
The features of Valley Veterinary Associates might include:
- Experienced veterinary staff, including veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
- Availability of emergency services (potentially 24/7).
- Modern medical equipment to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- A focus on patient comfort and well-being.
- Compassionate and supportive staff, as noted in the positive reviews.
Promotional information is not directly provided in the given text. However, the potential transition to 24/7 services could be considered a significant feature to highlight, as it offers round-the-clock care for pet emergencies. If this is indeed the case, it would be beneficial for Valley Veterinary Associates to clearly communicate this to the local community.
For local users in Unadilla, NY, and the surrounding areas, Valley Veterinary Associates presents itself as a Pet Hospital offering veterinary care. While past positive experiences suggest a caring and supportive environment, recent feedback raises concerns about potential pricing changes and transparency, particularly with emergency or more complex procedures. It is recommended that pet owners considering Valley Veterinary Associates for their pet's care:
- Contact them directly at (607) 563-1345 or +1 607-563-1345 to inquire about their current services and pricing for specific procedures.
- Discuss any concerns about costs upfront and request detailed quotes.
- If possible, visit the facility to assess the environment and meet the staff.
- Consider seeking additional reviews or testimonials from other pet owners in the community to gain a broader perspective.
Ultimately, choosing a veterinary care provider is a significant decision. By combining the information available with your own research and direct communication with Valley Veterinary Associates, you can make an informed choice that best suits your pet's needs and your expectations for veterinary care.

Sep 25, 2024 · April LawrenceThey were the nicest people. We had to put our dog down and they were very caring and respectful during what was a very sad and stressful time. We will definitely be returning in the future.
May 09, 2025 · Garden City HeirloomsWe want to Thank the staff for seeing us on Sunday (4/27/25) for an emergency. They were able to diagnose our dog and give us medication. He is doing so much better and back to himself Thank you so very much
Apr 30, 2025 · Darlene BWe recently moved here and had to have our dog checked out. Making an appointment was easy, the staff was super friendly loving all over our dog and greeted us very professionally. The Vet was awesome and gave us options instead of ramming expensive procedures down our throats. We got several prescriptions and excellent advice putting our minds to rest. I was stunned at the bill as it was way under half of what I thought it would be. Our experiences with vets in our previous location would have been way over what valley Vet charged us. Valley Vet is now our go to for our dogs and cars. I'd give more stars if I could.
Jan 24, 2025 · Vivian WilliamsDr Hamblin and Patti I can not thank you enough for helping my little Fritz. I was out of town in another part of Delaware County and I drove back to Valley Vet at 8pm to have my dachshund evaluated and treated for eating a wild mushroom. I was treated with respect and compassion and concern. Today he is thriving and now 8 months old and full of life and brings our family much joy.
