They always do a great job but went above and beyond for this labor day weekend. Things were going to be tight for my dog to be able to fly with me the Tuesday after labor day and they rushed everything for her heath cert to be finished in time. I am so so thankful and the communication was stellar!

Welcome to USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services
Welcome to USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services, located at 3001 Coolidge Rd #325, East Lansing, MI 48823, USA. While operating under the umbrella of the United States Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), this establishment functions as a specialized type of Pet Hospital, primarily focusing on facilitating the safe and legal movement of animals across state and international borders. Unlike traditional pet hospitals that offer a broad range of medical services, USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services in East Lansing provides specific services related to animal health certifications required for travel.
Given its role within a government agency, the environment of USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services in East Lansing is likely to be professional and efficient. The facility would typically include administrative offices for staff, examination rooms specifically equipped for conducting health checks required for travel certifications, and secure areas for record-keeping. While it may not have the extensive facilities of a full-service veterinary hospital, such as surgical suites or extensive diagnostic imaging, the environment is tailored to the specific needs of animal health certification processes. The emphasis would be on accuracy, adherence to regulations, and clear communication.
The core services offered by this branch of USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services in East Lansing are primarily centered around the issuance of animal health certificates. These certificates are official documents required for animals to travel across state lines or internationally, ensuring that they meet the health requirements of the destination. The veterinary professionals at this location are authorized to perform the necessary examinations, administer any required tests or vaccinations, and complete the official paperwork according to the specific regulations of the receiving state or country.
Based on the provided customer reviews, a significant aspect of their service involves facilitating international travel with service animals. This suggests expertise in navigating the often complex regulations and documentation required for animals flying to foreign countries, such as Italy in one reviewer's case. The services likely include thorough health examinations to ensure the animal is fit for travel, accurate completion of international health certificates, and potentially guidance on other requirements such as microchipping or specific vaccinations mandated by the destination country.
The reviews also highlight their responsiveness and efficiency, particularly in time-sensitive situations. For pet owners needing health certificates completed within a tight timeframe, such as the Labor Day weekend example, the team demonstrated a commitment to going "above and beyond" to ensure the necessary documentation was finalized in time for the pet to fly. This suggests that their services are characterized by a strong understanding of the urgency often associated with travel plans and a dedication to meeting those needs whenever possible.
Features of USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services in East Lansing likely include a team with specialized knowledge of interstate and international animal health regulations. Their official capacity as part of the USDA ensures that the health certificates they issue are recognized and accepted by relevant authorities. The positive reviews emphasize their efficiency, accuracy, and excellent communication, suggesting that these are key features of their service delivery. The ability to handle complex international travel requirements, particularly for service animals, indicates a high level of expertise and attention to detail.
The stellar communication mentioned in the reviews suggests that they prioritize keeping pet owners informed throughout the certification process, which can be particularly reassuring given the potential stress associated with travel and ensuring all documentation is correct. Their willingness to "rush everything" in urgent situations, while maintaining accuracy, points to a client-focused approach within the constraints of their official duties.
As USDA, APHIS, VS is a government entity, traditional promotional activities may not be their primary focus. Their role is more regulatory and service-oriented within a specific niche. Information about their services is likely disseminated through official government channels, such as the APHIS website, and through direct interaction with individuals requiring their services. However, positive word-of-mouth, as evidenced by the provided reviews, serves as a powerful testament to the quality and efficiency of their work.
Local users in the East Lansing area who require animal health certificates for interstate or international travel, especially those traveling with service animals, will find the USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services at this location to be a crucial resource. The reviews indicate a team that is not only competent and thorough but also understanding and willing to assist pet owners in navigating the often-complex requirements of animal travel. Their official status provides assurance that the issued health certificates will meet the necessary regulatory standards.
In conclusion, while not a traditional Pet Hospital offering a full suite of medical services, USDA, APHIS, VS, Veterinary Services in East Lansing functions as a specialized veterinary service provider focused on facilitating the legal and healthy transport of animals across borders. Their expertise in animal health certifications, particularly for international travel and service animals, combined with their efficiency and strong communication, makes them an invaluable resource for pet owners in the region who need to travel with their animals. Local users seeking reliable and official animal health certifications should contact them at the provided phone numbers for guidance and to schedule the necessary examinations and paperwork.

Sep 06, 2021 · AnnaI fly to Italy several times a year with my service dog, Fluffy. This team of wonderful people are incredible to work with. Always nerve wracking praying that everything will get done on time and the vet didn't make any mistakes on the forms... but the Team at the Lansing APHIS office always make everything easy and smooth. Thank you all so much!!!
Apr 07, 2020 · Ally FerreiraWe're flying overseas with a dog this month. The ONLY site that has accurate information is the usda/aphis website. The ladies in the export office are absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable, and calm. They answered questions from my multiple phone calls and are probably the only reason I'm getting to take my dog on this move. Thank you Diane!
Oct 11, 2019 · l brooksThis is single handledly the worst USDA vet office I've ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with. They can't seem to answer the phone, ever. I couldn't find the physical location because it's actually off of Abbey Road, not Coolidge. Thankfully they share a building with several other USDA offices, because when I was lost I called one of those offices and they directed me.
