Staff was amazing, caring and sympathetic. We went in late in the evening to have our old dog Charlie put to sleep. They gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. The room was comfortable offering treats for Charlie to enjoy. He was comfortable throughout the whole process. Everyone he came in contact with called him by his name and petted him. I can't thank them enough for their compassion.

Located at **5255 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK 74145, USA**, UrgentVet is specifically designed to provide timely and compassionate care for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions that arise outside of regular veterinary hours or when immediate attention is needed. You can reach them by phone at **(918) 505-2288** or via mobile at **+1 918-505-2288** for assistance during your pet's unexpected health concerns.
The "Pet Hospital" categorization for UrgentVet emphasizes their commitment to medical care, but with a crucial specialization in urgent care. This means they are equipped to handle a wide range of conditions that require prompt professional intervention but might not necessitate the full resources of a 24-hour critical care emergency room. Their model is designed to bridge the gap between your primary veterinarian and an emergency animal hospital, offering a convenient and often more affordable alternative for immediate, non-critical needs.
The **environment** at UrgentVet is specifically designed to provide comfort and reassurance during what can be very stressful times for both pets and their owners. Reviews consistently highlight a compassionate and understanding atmosphere. One deeply moving account describes the room as "comfortable offering treats for Charlie to enjoy. He was comfortable throughout the whole process. Everyone he came in contact with called him by his name and petted him." This illustrates a profound commitment to creating a peaceful and low-stress environment, particularly sensitive to the emotional needs of pets and their families, even during difficult moments like euthanasia. The staff's approach is described as "amazing, caring and sympathetic," indicating a calm and supportive ambiance that helps alleviate anxiety. Even for urgent, less somber visits, like a puppy with GI upset, the staff is described as "so friendly," suggesting a consistently welcoming and reassuring environment across all types of visits. This focus on comfort and personalized attention helps even typically anxious pets feel more at ease, as evidenced by the positive feedback from clients.
The **services** offered by UrgentVet are precisely tailored to address immediate, non-life-threatening veterinary needs. These typically include, but are not limited to:
- Assessment and Treatment of Acute Illnesses: Conditions such as vomiting, diarrhea (as seen with the puppy who ate a sock), coughing, sneezing, lethargy, and loss of appetite are commonly addressed.
- Injury Evaluation and Care: This can include minor cuts, lameness, limping, minor animal bites, and other non-critical physical traumas.
- Diagnostic Services: To quickly determine the cause of a pet's distress, they typically offer on-site diagnostics such as blood work, urinalysis, fecal examinations, and potentially X-rays to assess internal issues.
- Pain Management: Providing immediate relief for pets experiencing pain due to injuries or acute conditions.
- Urgent Consultations: For concerns that arise suddenly and cannot wait for a regular vet appointment.
- Hospice and Euthanasia Services: As powerfully demonstrated by the review regarding Charlie, they offer compassionate end-of-life care, providing comfort and support during the difficult decision of euthanasia, ensuring the pet's dignity and the family's peace of mind.
- Foreign Body Ingestion (non-critical): Cases like the puppy eating a sock, where prompt intervention can prevent more serious complications.
Their model focuses on addressing urgent concerns efficiently and thoroughly, with the capability to offer "all our options for the right treatment," indicating a transparent and collaborative approach to care plans. They also prioritize communication with the pet's primary veterinarian, ensuring continuity of care.
The key **features** that set UrgentVet apart are its dedicated focus on urgent care, its exceptionally compassionate staff, and its commitment to providing a supportive and comfortable experience. The most striking feature highlighted in the reviews is the staff's profound empathy, particularly evident during end-of-life care. Giving clients "the time we needed to say goodbye" and ensuring the pet was "comfortable throughout the whole process," with every staff member calling him by name and petting him, demonstrates an extraordinary level of care and sensitivity. This compassionate approach extends to all interactions, as evidenced by the "friendly" staff during the puppy's GI upset visit. The ability to offer "all our options for the right treatment" underscores their thoroughness and commitment to informed decision-making for pet owners. The specialization in urgent care means they are geared for efficiency in crisis situations while still maintaining a high standard of medical practice. Their convenient hours, often extending into evenings and weekends when primary vets might be closed, make them an invaluable resource for pet owners facing unexpected issues. The staff's expertise in handling various urgent conditions, from a swallowed sock to more serious injuries, makes them a reliable choice for immediate attention.
From a **promotional information** standpoint, the compelling customer testimonials serve as the most powerful form of advertisement for UrgentVet. The deeply emotional and positive review about Charlie's euthanasia is an incredibly strong endorsement, showcasing their humane and compassionate approach during a pet owner's most difficult time. This kind of feedback resonates deeply with potential clients seeking empathetic care. Similarly, the positive experience with the lab puppy's sock ingestion, highlighting friendly staff and thorough treatment options, promotes their capability in handling common urgent scenarios effectively. The very name "UrgentVet" clearly communicates their specialization, immediately telling potential clients that they are the place for immediate, non-critical needs. Their operating hours, which typically cover evenings, weekends, and holidays when many primary veterinarians are closed, are a major promotional draw, positioning them as a go-to solution for after-hours care. Their online presence likely provides details about their specific urgent care capabilities and how they complement a pet's regular veterinary care, further promoting their unique role in the pet healthcare ecosystem. Ultimately, UrgentVet's strongest promotional asset is its demonstrated commitment to compassionate, timely, and thorough care for urgent pet needs, as powerfully conveyed through the heartfelt experiences of its satisfied clients.

Feb 16, 2025 · Barbara ByrdLab puppy ate a sock, for about the 100th time but continued to have GI upset. The staff was so friendly and gave us all our options for the right treatment for her. Very thorough! Great care for your urgent pet needs!
May 25, 2025 · April SmithMy sweet little Minnie came up to me limping. I brought her in and we were greeted and roomed immediately. The staff is very competent and most of all caring. We are home recovering from a sprain. Thank you Urgent Vet!
Mar 09, 2025 · Jenifer ClintonI had an excellent experience at UrgentVet after rushing my cat in for swallowing a string. The staff was thoughtful and quick to act, instructing me to bring her in to induce vomiting. We were checked in fast, given clear options, and quoted a fair price upfront. Despite my cat being difficult with strangers, the nurse and vet were incredibly patient and kind, eventually helping her calm down enough to retrieve the string safely. The whole process was smooth, compassionate, and professional. The final bill matched the quote and was much more affordable than a typical emergency vet. Highly recommend for non-life-threatening pet issues!
Apr 23, 2025 · Jordan BennettMy beautiful baby girl Tippi ate some leaves to a toxic plant and I was so worried I was going to lose her. I called frantically and they said bring her in right away. She was very sick, in pain, stopped eating and drinking. The moment we arrived I was greeted right at the door and brought in to an exam room. I’m used to the check in desk and how are you going to pay right away before even being seen. So I was very impressed we were given the opposite. They spoke to Tippi kindly and to her, not at her, and handled her with gentle care. Once she was treated, I just started to cry as all the guilt and stress was coming off of me and they were so compassionate with all the emotions flowing out at once. Thank you to the whole team and Kara, who it felt like she was holding my hand through all of it. Tippi is on the mend! Can’t say enough how your pet is treated so respectfully instead of “ just another patient”. The truly love healing their patients.
