I just got a new puppy. He wasn’t eating well one morning. I couldn’t get into the vet for an appointment. UrgentVet was able to see him same day (right before Christmas). They were able to help me by doing a complete exam, stool analysis, and ear analysis. They were great with Oliver, did a thorough job, and were very friendly and helpful! Will definitely use them again, if we need too!!! Thank you!

Welcome to UrgentVet

For pet owners in Westford, Massachusetts, and the surrounding communities, UrgentVet offers a vital solution for those moments when a pet's health concern can't wait for a regular vet appointment, but isn't a full-blown emergency requiring a 24/7 critical care hospital. Positioned as a dedicated "Pet Hospital" focusing on urgent care, UrgentVet bridges the gap between routine veterinary visits and severe emergencies, providing immediate and compassionate attention to pets in need. Their mission is to offer peace of mind and prompt medical assistance for unexpected illnesses and injuries.

Located at 160 Littleton Rd #5, Westford, MA 01886, USA, UrgentVet has cultivated an environment specifically designed to be efficient, welcoming, and calming for both pets and their owners during what can often be stressful circumstances. As highlighted by customer reviews, upon arrival, clients are "greeted by staff within seconds" and quickly ushered into an examination room. This swift intake process is crucial in an urgent care setting, minimizing wait times and alleviating anxiety. The staff's demeanor is consistently described as "empathetic, friendly, knowledgeable," which contributes significantly to a positive experience. The atmosphere is professional yet warm, with staff members showing genuine affection for the animals, even taking time to "pet and take pictures with Walter" after his examination. This level of interaction demonstrates a caring environment where animal well-being is prioritized, helping pets feel more comfortable despite feeling unwell. The focus is on streamlining the urgent care process while maintaining a high standard of compassionate interaction.

The services provided by UrgentVet are precisely tailored to address conditions that require prompt attention but may not warrant an emergency room visit. As a specialized "Pet Hospital" for urgent needs, their offerings typically include, but are not limited to:

  • Same-Day Appointments: A cornerstone of their service model, ensuring that pets can be seen quickly, often when primary veterinarians are fully booked or have limited hours. This is crucial for concerns that arise suddenly but aren't immediately life-threatening, such as a puppy "not eating well one morning."
  • Thorough Examinations: Comprehensive physical examinations are performed to accurately assess the pet's condition, as noted by a client whose puppy received a "complete exam."
  • Diagnostic Services: UrgentVet is equipped to perform on-site diagnostics that are critical for urgent situations. This includes, as evidenced by reviews, stool analysis (for gastrointestinal issues) and ear analysis (for ear infections or discomfort). They also handle minor injuries that may require immediate attention, such as bites.
  • Treatment of Non-Life-Threatening Illnesses and Injuries: This covers a wide range of conditions like mild vomiting or diarrhea, minor cuts or wounds, lameness, ear infections, skin irritations, urinary tract infections, and mild allergic reactions. For instance, Walter's bite on his cheek was promptly evaluated and cleaned.
  • Expert Consultations: Veterinarians at UrgentVet are experienced in quickly assessing conditions and providing clear guidance on next steps, including whether a follow-up with a primary vet or a referral to an emergency hospital is necessary.
  • Prescription Medications: Dispensing necessary medications to manage symptoms and treat conditions identified during the urgent care visit.

UrgentVet serves as an invaluable complement to a pet's regular veterinary care, providing a convenient and accessible option when immediate, but not critical, care is needed, especially outside of regular business hours or when primary vets are unavailable.

The distinctive features of UrgentVet, repeatedly praised by its clientele, center on three core pillars: accessibility, compassion, and efficiency. Firstly, their accessibility is paramount. The ability to "see him same day (right before Christmas)" when a primary vet couldn't accommodate, and the responsiveness to a seven o'clock evening arrival for a bite wound, underscore their commitment to providing care when it's most needed. This fills a critical gap in pet healthcare. Secondly, the profound compassion and friendliness of the staff truly set them apart. Reviewers consistently highlight their empathy, kindness, and genuine enjoyment of animals, noting that the staff "obviously enjoy helping care for animals" and are "wonderful." This creates a comforting environment for both pets and their worried owners. The detail about staff members wanting to pet and take pictures with Walter after his exam exemplifies this genuine care. Thirdly, their efficiency and knowledge ensure that pets receive prompt and effective care. Staff members are described as "knowledgeable" and "thorough," performing necessary examinations and offering clear explanations. The quick intake process and direct communication from the doctor provide reassurance and peace of mind, knowing that a pet's health is being professionally managed without unnecessary delay.

From a promotional standpoint, UrgentVet leverages its core value proposition of immediate, compassionate care. Their phone number, (978) 674-8900 and mobile +1 978-674-8900, is readily available, emphasizing their direct and accessible service. The testimonials serve as powerful endorsements, specifically highlighting their ability to accommodate urgent, same-day appointments during inconvenient times (like "right before Christmas"). The positive experiences shared by clients, who praise the staff's friendliness, knowledge, and empathy, form the cornerstone of their reputation. Phrases like "Will definitely use them again, if we need too!!!" and "I highly recommend this office for any urgent care your pet may need" are strong calls to action driven by genuine satisfaction. UrgentVet's promotional message clearly revolves around providing a reliable, understanding, and efficient solution for pet health concerns that arise unexpectedly, offering a much-needed service to the Westford community and beyond.

Walter had received a bite on his right cheek from my son's dog, and due to Walter’s young age, I felt it necessary to have him seen and evaluated immediately. I arrived at the Urgent Care at 7:00 p.m. and was greeted by staff within seconds. I was brought into an examination room, where Walter was looked over by a wonderful staff member who asked the necessary questions while she performed her examination. A short time later, the doctor came in, and after talking to Walter, she did her examination, cleaned the area, and assured me Walter would be fine. While waiting for my paperwork, two other staff members came in excitedly asked if they could pet and take pictures with Walter, to which I happily agreed. I highly recommend this office for any urgent care your pet may need. They are empathetic, friendly, knowledgeable, and obviously enjoy helping care for animals.

It was a Sunday night at 7:10pm and my dog’s incisions from a recent surgery were not looking good. My Vet told me about UrgentVet in Westford and that I could make an appointment online. I quickly looked them up and grabbed the last appointment before they closed. Walked in and signed in. Despite other clients, we were seen really quickly by both a Vet tech and a Vet. They made their assessment and provided me with a course of antibiotics. The next day, the Vet tech followed up with me to see how my dog was doing. I brought their recommendation to my Vet, which he agreed with. Everyone there was super kind and efficient. Dry communicative through the entire visit. I am so glad that they were there and are another option to going to an Emergency Vet hospital. Will definitely use them again if the occasion arises. And if you care, my dog is healing well, but slowly, as he is a contortionist and despite the E collar still can get at the incision sites….. so for now he has the E collar and a blow up collar behind it.

The staff and veterinarian were very welcoming, friendly and understanding. They were patient with my cats that I had brought in to be checked for possible worms. I’m very pleased with the service and it was also affordable with no hidden fees. They will not charge you for anything without consent and they also review the invoice with you. I would definitely come again and recommend this location to others.

We made an appointment for our dog and were seen right away. The tech, Jillian, was wonderful with our dog and made us feel very comfortable. Our vet was very caring and fully explained the treatment and aftercare. We had an outreach the next day to inquire about our dog. Would not hesitate to return in the future.
