We went to Pawprints today after our dog was attacked by another dog. They put us in a room immediately, and the wait wasn’t too long even tho they said they were busy. The vet tech was very friendly and helpful (maybe more informative than any vet tech I’ve ever met!), and the vet herself was lovely. I was pleased with the price and the way they offered us treatment options so we could pick what was best for our dog. And they were very considerate of her reactionary fears - she fell asleep! That might have just been the adrenaline wearing off, but it’s the first time she’s ever dozed at a vet’s office. We highly recommend them in an emergency!

Urgent Care by Pawprints Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Urgent Care by Pawprints, a dedicated pet hospital located at 1001 Creekside Ln, Lynchburg, VA 24502, USA. As a vital resource within the 'Pet Hospital' category, Urgent Care by Pawprints aims to provide timely and effective veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. You can reach them at (434) 849-7950 or via mobile at +1 434-849-7950.

Based on available information, including real customer reviews, we can offer an objective overview of what you might expect from this veterinary care provider.

Environment:

One customer review highlights a positive initial experience regarding the environment. They noted that upon arrival with a dog injured in an attack, they were promptly placed in a room. This suggests an efficient intake process, particularly in urgent situations. The fact that their dog, despite being reactive, seemingly relaxed enough to doze off could indicate a calm and considerate atmosphere, although this could also be attributed to the dog's post-adrenaline state.

Services and Features:

Urgent Care by Pawprints positions itself as an urgent care facility. This implies a focus on addressing immediate health concerns that may not necessarily be life-threatening emergencies but still require prompt attention. The positive review mentions that the veterinary technician was "very friendly and helpful" and perhaps more informative than previous experiences. Furthermore, the veterinarian was described as "lovely." A significant positive aspect mentioned was the practice of offering treatment options, allowing pet owners to make informed decisions based on what is best for their pet and their circumstances. The willingness to be considerate of a pet's fears is also a noteworthy feature, suggesting a compassionate approach to animal handling.

However, another review presents a contrasting perspective regarding the accessibility of urgent care services. This customer attempted to bring their cat in after their regular vet's office was closed, arriving 20 minutes before the stated closing time. They were reportedly told that the vet could not see their cat, who was suspected of having a UTI, because lab results would take 15 minutes, and no one could stay past closing. This experience raises concerns about the flexibility and commitment to walk-in urgent care, especially close to closing time. The customer was informed about morning appointments and an emergency clinic, highlighting the availability of alternative options but also the perceived lack of immediate care at the urgent care facility during the evening.

A staff member reportedly mentioned upcoming changes to their hours, extending them until 9 PM, which the disappointed customer felt should have been the standard practice for an urgent care facility. This suggests that Urgent Care by Pawprints may be in the process of adjusting its operational hours to better align with the needs of pet owners seeking after-hours care.

Promotional Information:

Based on the provided reviews, there isn't explicit promotional information like discounts or special offers. However, the positive review implicitly promotes the clinic by highlighting their prompt attention in emergencies, friendly and informative staff, a caring veterinarian, reasonable pricing, and consideration for the pet's well-being. The negative review, conversely, serves as a cautionary note regarding the limitations of their "urgent care" availability, particularly close to closing time.

For local users in Lynchburg, VA, and the surrounding areas, Urgent Care by Pawprints presents itself as a potential option when your regular veterinarian is unavailable and your pet requires attention that cannot wait. The positive feedback suggests that in genuine urgent situations, they are responsive, caring, and offer a collaborative approach to treatment planning. The negative feedback indicates a potential limitation in their availability for walk-ins very close to their listed closing time, which is something to be aware of.

If you are seeking a pet hospital that offers urgent care services, it would be prudent to consider both the positive experiences shared, emphasizing their efficiency and care during a dog attack, and the negative experience, which points to potential limitations in accepting walk-ins just before closing. For immediate needs, especially during standard hours, Urgent Care by Pawprints may be a valuable local resource. It might be beneficial to call ahead, particularly if you are heading there close to their closing time, to confirm their ability to see your pet.

In summary, Urgent Care by Pawprints, categorized as a 'Pet Hospital,' aims to serve the local community with urgent veterinary services. While one customer praised their prompt and caring response during an emergency, another expressed disappointment with their refusal to see a pet arriving shortly before closing. As they reportedly plan to extend their hours, their accessibility for after-hours urgent care may improve. For now, local pet owners might find them to be a helpful option for immediate pet health concerns, keeping in mind the mixed feedback regarding their availability close to closing time.

I just tried to take my cat to be seen, I don’t get off work until 5pm and I live in Madison Heights, my normal vets office is closed on Wednesdays. As soon as I got off we put our cat in the carrier and headed this way. We made it to their office at 5:40, stood in line for a couple minutes and then I told the lady up front that I thought my cat might have a UTI and asked if they could see him. She told me she had to go ask one of the Vets but she wasn’t sure because they closed in 12 minutes. She left and then returned and said no that no one could stay to see him because lab results take 15 minutes. I cannot believe the lack of concern. I hope I never have to come back here again. Urgent care should simply be that, urgent care, walk ins welcome up until closing time. Another gentleman behind the desk told me I could be there at 9am to be seen and then he told me about the emergency clinic. I have to work 8-5 again tomorrow and am not able to get off work to do it and the emergency clinic is super expensive. He said next week the hours change so that they are open until 9, which is the way it should have always been. Why have an urgent care place that has the same hours as all the other vets, not helpful. But I am still in shock that no one could stay a couple minutes over to examine my cat real quick. Vets should care enough to not turn an animal away over a couple minutes. They could at least have checked his vitals to make sure it’s not a medical emergency, but they didn’t care enough to do that.

A great place to take your animal to without an appointment. Clean space, new decor and friendly staff who give your animal the care they deserve.

Had a great experience here with our cat that had his tail slammed in a door (by the force of wind, very hard). They got him cleaned up and stitched up quickly and gave us very detailed information about his situation and recovery and what to look out for. I am very grateful they could help us, and if we have an emergency going forward, we won't hesitate to come here.

I have been in the unfortunate position to have to take our elderly cat (Pumpkin) in for treatment two times over the past month. Both times we were greeted by the pleasant office staff, and processed quickly to the nicely spread out waiting area. Because this urgent care center, like all urgent care centers is first come first serve, no appointments, so I expected fully to wait my turn. Thankfully, both times I went, there was only one other animal needing attention before mine. We were so grateful for that! I’m sure there are times they are very busy, and other times not so much, so you have to go expecting to wait your turn. We were taken back to a exam room, seen immediately by an extremely experienced veterinarian technician who was very confident i. handling our animal, and we had no reservations at all about her taking him back for a weight and temperature, giving antibiotics etc. During our two visits, we saw two different veterinarians, and both were absolutely wonderful. They were compassionate, and thorough. I don’t know if everyone understands how lucky we are to have such a qualified urgent care center right here in Lynchburg, who will see sick animals during the week without an appointment, but our family sure does! I feel incredibly blessed to have their service and I am sure we will be needing it again in the near future. Highly recommend!
