We had a great experience taking our dog Maudie in for her first post-adoption visit. We had several questions and appreciated the staff taking the time to answer each one. They have Maudie a thorough examination and provided recommendations for how we could care for her. We left feeling that Maudie received 5-star care. We will be back!

Jan 08, 2025 · Anuja VaidyaA mixed bag here. On the positive side - a friendly staff for scheduling & check in. They were able to see us quickly as existing patients. On the not so good. Their billing process is suspect. First the vet recommended a full battery of blood tests. After I asked if all were necessary for the mechanical diarrhea/liver diagnosis, she responded a more limited set of tests had all the needed information. That saved me 70$. Then, come their various service fees [shown on their computer screen but not on their final invoice which makes me scratch my head]. For example, 14 tabs of Metronidazole cost abt 9$ but the Service Fee to hand them over is $20. Same story for the other meds too. I didn't push back on the service fee for the injected drugs as there was actually a service provided. I also paid the $12 OSHA compliance fee without fuss. But come on, this is my hard earned coin not insurance funny money. I try to be fair as a customer and expect fair in return but the explanations provided were simply defensive and obfuscating. I was basically told "that's the way we run our biz". OK, I asked for the prescriptions and had them filled by Chewy on line. Simple process saved me $50 but wasted abt an hour of my time and left me with a bad taste and Uptown with 3 stars instead of 5.
Jan 14, 2025 · Sean LewisI spent the last 20+ yrs going here with all my animals... until things gradually went down hill with this place. Don't plan on having 1 vet see your animals they have a rotating door that staff come for a day or two and then float somewhere else and then you get someone else the next time. Don't let them try to say there's a short in vets ( that's their excuse for vets not wanting to work there). They had some really good vets and 3 of them retired close together in the past few years. People like myself that have gone here for years have transferred to the 'other' animal hospital in the neighborhood due to inconsistencies at this place and no one taking responsibility for the ill mistakes these floating vets make when they come to cover shifts. Elizabeth the office manger is not only condensing but shouldn't be in this industry; that goes for the office manager Linda that has no problem lying right to your face. I'm not sure why or how these 2 ladies have jobs.. I would hate to see how they treat our pets behind the scenes if that's how they treat us. It's not just me that pulled all my animals from this place I have heard a good portion of their clientele have left to go to the other animal hospital for the same reason.
Nov 14, 2024 · Marty BrownI have been coming to Uptown Animal for 20+years for all my rescues. The staff and more importantly, the vets have always provided care over and beyond. I have had some very sick animals and they always have accommodate me each and every time. They are the best!!! I have had rescue dogs since '97 and recently, rescue cats treated there.
