Penn Vet is 100% worth the drive. Our primary vet referred us to cardiology when our cat had a symptomatic heart murmur. The cardiologist was kind and thorough, and figured out that our cat has a lung issue, not a heart issue. We then had an additional visit with internal medicine, who was also very thorough and took time to answer every question we had without making us feel rushed or pressured. She outlined several treatment options based on cost, effectiveness, and invasiveness, gave her opinion on which she would recommend, and helped us ultimately make the choice that felt right for us. I would absolutely recommend Penn Vet for specialty care.

Sep 27, 2024 · Linnea PhillipsAbsolutely amazing experience! Brought our pug Millie here for her spay & nares reconstruction. I felt super informed and comfortable throughout the process. Staff and students are so compassionate and amazing! They made sure to give Millie lots of love and care. Got plenty of calls about my girl and they did everything they could so I felt at ease. I would highly recommend!

Aug 14, 2024 · Joanna asiaI came to Penn Vet because I was unhappy with the care I was receiving from VCA Cat Hospital in Philadelphia. My cat has urinary issues that flare up from stress, so a good experience is of the utmost importance to me. At VCA I became used to being talked down to and arm twisted into unnecessary testing and care subscriptions, efforts that only drained my wallet and actually poked my cat with more needles than necessary. At Penn Vet, the care team was something of a miracle. My faith in vets has been fully restored. The following is a list of the little (but seriously effective) details that made my experience so above and beyond. 1. Dr. Grader and her “Stress Free” handling tactics. My cat had his eyes CLOSED while her hands were on him. 2. The sweet 4th year student (Lauren) and the two nurses who assisted in the swift yet extremely thorough annual visit. 3. I was given ONLY recommendations for things that were necessary which was pretty much nothing but one shot. My cat did not flinch at the needle. 4. I was instructed to keep my hands on my cat during the entire visit. 5. As soon as my cat entered the patient room, I was given a blanket sprayed with Feliway. This blanket was placed over him for the entirety of the exam and it made a word of a difference. When I was discharged and waiting for prescriptions, I got to keep the blanket over the crate in the waiting room. 6. Getting set up with Chewy for shipping out my prescription diet
