My Kona girl loves her Vet! She received a couple annual shots & was treated for a sore on her arm that she kept licking. It’s been a couple days on her medication & the wound is almost gone! Great customer service, easy to book appointment, plenty of availability, no long wait times, & I can buy all her medications here (Heartgard & Bravecto).

United States Air Force Academy Veterinary Services Introduce
Looking for a pet hospital in your area? United States Air Force Academy Veterinary Services, located at 9037 Husted Rd, Air Force Academy, CO 80840, USA, offers veterinary care for your beloved pets. They can be reached at (719) 333-4055 or +1 719-333-4055.
Based on customer reviews, experiences at United States Air Force Academy Veterinary Services vary. Some pet owners have reported positive experiences, citing great customer service, ease of booking appointments, good availability, and short wait times. They also appreciate the convenience of purchasing medications like Heartgard and Bravecto directly from the clinic. One reviewer mentioned their dog received effective treatment for a sore and praised the overall service.
The clinic is noted for its affordable pricing for exams and vaccines, potentially offering cost savings compared to other veterinary practices. While vaccination clinics might be cheaper, combining wellness exams and vaccinations here could be economical, especially when prescriptions for medications are needed. They also allow pet owners to fill prescriptions off-base at places like Costco for better prices, and their medication prices are reportedly competitive with discounted pet pharmacies.
However, some customers have raised concerns. One pet owner reported a negative experience with rough handling of their elderly, small dog, causing distress. They also mentioned issues with obtaining prescriptions for a specific heart medication due to alleged licensing limitations at the time. Another reviewer described the staff as not particularly friendly or helpful, noting that wellness exams seemed limited to vaccinations without a thorough physical examination unless specific concerns were raised. Difficulties in drawing blood from dogs of various sizes and a lack of proactively offered alternatives were also mentioned.
The environment of the clinic is described as old and somewhat worn down, lacking a "cheery feel." However, one reviewer suggests that this might be a trade-off for more affordable pricing compared to newer, more aesthetically pleasing clinics.
Regarding services, while they are considered a good option for wellness care, the clinic openly advises seeking off-base care for emergencies. There is information suggesting that they may be getting a new vet soon and could potentially start offering teeth cleaning services around August, although they do not maintain a waitlist for these procedures. One customer reported successful resolution of a long-standing issue with their dog that another vet couldn't diagnose, expressing gratitude for this positive outcome.
In summary, United States Air Force Academy Veterinary Services appears to be a cost-conscious option for routine wellness care and vaccinations, with convenient medication availability. However, potential clients should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding staff interactions, the thoroughness of examinations, and the facility's environment.

Jul 15, 2023 · Rewa MillerThere is good and bad here just like any vet. I haven't had trouble getting in touch with them this year, so for those with phone issues, try them again. They are a good vet for wellness care, but they openly admit you need to go elsewhere for emergencies, so you should keep a local off base vet. Their prices are very good for "exams" and vaccines. You could save money by going to a vaccination clinic, but will have to wait in line. And if you need any meds prescribed it makes sense to do a wellness exam and vaccines as the vaccines are a little cheaper on base. We had trouble with them treating our elderly 5lb dog... They were incredibly rough with her and she actually screamed (such a creepy sound... I didn't know dogs could do that.) So, we have stopped taking her there. She is also on a medication for her heart and they told us they wouldn't be able to write prescriptions for the medication because they didn't have the right kind of licensing. (I think that has since changed, but I'm not sure as we haven't taken her back.) I don't care for the people here and neither does my dog. They aren't super friendly or helpful. For the wellness exams, they only give shots, they don't seem to do a physical or look for any issues. You have to bring up absolutely anything you might think is concerning. They have a hard time getting blood from our dogs (multiple sizes - 5-60 lbs) which is a bit concerning. And they don't offer alternatives unless you specifically ask. It's almost like they don't really care. Previous vets I have been to have tried to make friends with my dogs.... Not one person here has ever tried to give a treat, head pat, nothing. I do wonder why they work with pets. Now, because this is a discounted vet, I will say they will give you options to help save money. We had a dog scheduled for vaccines and they told us it would cost more if they looked at him that day because he we were concerned about a potential illness. (He is currently at another vet having an emergency appt, so I wish they hadn't encouraged us to come back when he is better.) They do allow you to take your prescriptions off base (Costco) to get better prices, but their prices on meds are competitive with our discounted pet pharmacies. The build is old and a bit worn down. It definitely doesn't have a cheery feel when walking in, but perhaps consider that you know you aren't paying twice as much just for a pretty building. (Pine Creek vet, I'm looking at you.) They will also be getting a new vet soon and might start doing teeth cleanings in August. They will not keep a wait list of people wanting teeth cleanings because they told me they don't call people to schedule those. (I really think they are likely understaffed.) Perhaps if they get the right funding they will get better. They did help fix an ongoing problem (at one visit) with my dog that another vet (centennial - ironically Dr Martinez works at both vets) couldn't figure out, so I am very grateful for that and will continue to use them until it gets really bad.
Jul 10, 2024 · Jennifer DuvalThe vet was very nice, tech was great. I think they’re just severely understaffed because the registration process was a nightmare. I filled out and emailed my pets paperwork twice and even came in and filled it out and they lost it three times.
Jul 21, 2024 · Katharina D'AmatoMilitary vet facility on base so only offering support to active duty and veterans. Great prices and friendly staff but unfortunately always seem to be short-staffed. Therefore, they tend to get behind on timing of appointments and can forget to follow-up with you on blood lab results or get your bill wrong, etc. They do not have a Facebook page or voicemail machine so if you try to call and can’t get through, you have to just keep trying til you get someone. Availability can sometimes be difficult to get in so if you have an emergency, call an emergency facility instead. If you’re aware of this, it’s worth it for the better pricing!
May 21, 2023 · Chelsea CMy Golden Retriever gets amped up like the Cocaine Bear when we have to visit the vet, but everyone at this location is so patient and understanding with him. They're honestly the best vet office in the area, especially when it comes to my anxious 102# maniac dog.
