Such kind and caring staff! From the lovely ladies at the front desk to Mary and Katrina who took care of my sweet Ollie! I just moved to Georgia from Texas and had to find a place to keep up with my dog’s severe allergies. I was recommended the school’s vet, and I’m so glad I was! The visit cost was about $70, and the cytopoint injection was $88, (which, at my previous vet, was closer to $150 for the injection alone). For reference, my dog is a white bully breed, about 75-80 pounds. He also got a cytology exam for a small lump forming on his chest, which was $53 (he’s okay!). Total cost visit was $212, which is pretty affordable in my experience. I felt that the staff did a great job of getting my puppies history, addressing all my concerns and answering all my questions. Plus, they were very generous with the treats :) I will note that I did have to wait a little long in the room due to it being a teaching vet clinic, but I felt extra comfortable and put to ease knowing that many professionals got to add their impressions and expertise into the pot. Absolutely recommend, especially if you’re able to spare a little more time at the vet! (Extra pictures of my house hippo provided)

Aug 30, 2024 · Julia JaneczkoLOVE UGA’s community practice clinic! We have brought our cat to this clinic since she was a baby, and I’m starting to think she enjoys seeing the staff as much as they enjoy seeing her! Even though your pet is in the care of a different student each time, they do an amazing job at keeping the “hometown, family vet” atmosphere and I never doubt that my fur baby is in great hands. The vet students that work there take ample time to discuss any concerns I may have and ask the perfect questions to get a clear picture of my kittens lifestyle, so that they can give me the best options to keep her healthy. The services are abundant and affordable, and the staff goes in to detail when explaining services and costs, as well as considering my budget (without any pressure to spend more). Even when I move away, I’ll drive all the way back to Athens for the UGA community practice clinic!!
Mar 31, 2019 · Summer GilesI called in with a sick glider and was referred to all species in Duluth THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE when I told them I didn't have the money to keep her there and would take her home she wasn't breathing not even a min later mind you she was in this condition and breathing all day you all should never recommend anyone to go here !
Apr 16, 2024 · April BallardTL;DR: Misdiagnosed my cat, price was the highest in the area. I went to the UGA Pet Health Center over the summer to take in my cat who was having issues, they quoted me an amount that was completely out of my budget and gave me poor advice. I ended up going to another Vet who not only had better prices but completely rejected the Pet Health Center's guidance. I was able to reduce what would have cost me $450 here to something like $200 and I bet I could find cheaper if it getting help wasn't so urgent for my cat. The health center misdiagnosed my cat as blind when it wasn't... how do you get that wrong? Go elsewhere if you want better help and a better price.
Aug 23, 2022 · Chris PrimisA student recommended a product, told me I could return it unopened if I needed to (if my cat weighed heavier than they anticipated). My cat weighed more, so I called to see how I go about exchanging the product. Then, the response of the clinic changed and I was unable to exchange the prevention medication. Therefore, I have a 6-month medication that she outgrew in one month and now it's $90 of trash. They did not back what one of their students promised me. That's bad business and horrible customer service in that respect. Most of the other services there were good. But I don't have money to just throw away, and, after this experience, I can't trust what they say. UPDATED: I did contact the clinic, and I was given a refund. I do appreciate that. For that, I bumped my review to 2-stars. It was sad this couldn't have happened on the first go around.
