Staff and veterinarian were top notch, very attentive and kept me informed as well as possible trying to diagnose my pet, but that I'd have to spend another $$ grand to further test and try to further diagnose what was probably untreatable. But only $$$ to say good-bye to my sick kitty. Wow, it hurt my heart and my pocketbook. Pet medical treatment has sure escalated. No wonder they try to sell animal medical insurance. Otherwise, I really liked the facility and staff, just not the extravagant cost to say good-bye to my sweet girl.

Customer reviews indicate that the staff and veterinarians at Turning Stone Animal Hospital are considered "top notch" and "very attentive," keeping pet owners informed during the diagnostic process. The facility itself is also described as well-liked by at least one reviewer.
However, some customer experiences highlight concerns regarding the cost of treatment and the perceived focus on upselling services. One reviewer mentioned a significant expense for further diagnostic testing and the cost associated with euthanasia. Another long-term customer expressed feeling uncomfortable with frequent attempts to push additional services, suggesting a prioritization of financial gain over building trust. This individual ultimately decided to discontinue their patronage due to an incident involving a cancellation fee charged despite a very short time lapse after scheduling.
These experiences have led some clients to believe that the clinic may be more focused on generating revenue through additional charges rather than fostering strong, trust-based relationships with pet owners. As a result, some customers, including long-term ones, have chosen to seek veterinary care elsewhere.
While the staff and facility have received positive feedback in some instances, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the concerns raised regarding pricing transparency and the emphasis on additional services, as reported by multiple individuals in their reviews.

Mar 18, 2025 · Joy LokeyI’ve been taking my pets to Turning Stone Animal Hospital for years. I’ve always felt uncomfortable with how often they try to push and upsell. It always felt like they were more focused on money, but I stuck with them for the comfort and familiarity for my dog. The final straw came when my cat had a brief episode of diarrhea. My husband quickly scheduled an appointment. Not even three minutes later, after realizing I had accidentally switched his food, he called back to cancel, well within reason. Despite the immediate cancellation, we were still charged. It felt greedy and unfair, especially considering we’ve always been reliable clients and have NEVER cancelled, missed, or been late to a single appointment. I’ve since talked to several neighbors who share the same concern with this practice. It just feels like this clinic is more focused on nickel and diming than building real trust with pet owners. I’m sad to say we won’t be returning and they have lost yet another loyal customer.
Apr 09, 2025 · Jennifer NguyenThis morning we had to bring our 21 year old domestic medium hair in to help him cross the rainbow bridge. I will say this is one of the most compassionate staffs. To everyone at Turning Stone, thank you for making a stressful and difficult time as easy as possible. I can't thank you enough. RIP Shadow and thanks for a wonderful 21 years!
Mar 07, 2025 · Michael ChalmersDr. Hooper has been my vet over 10 years. When she moved to her current location , it was quite a distance. I tried staying at her previous vet but I just wasn't happy. I drive a very long distance to get to Dr. Hooper, but I won't go anywhere else. She is kind, compassionate, considerate to me and takes better than excellent care of my fur baby. I truly consider Dr. Hooper a friend and her office staff is over and beyond any I've ever seen. What a privilege it is to be part of this world.
Feb 12, 2025 · Janice hardinFriendly and professional staff from start to finish! Despite my big boy being a little nervous, they were patient and gentle with him and his painful ears. The cost was reasonable for everything he needed. I will note that I did not say "cheap". They are not a low cost vaccine clinic, but the price I paid is well worth the quality of care I received. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet.
