I recently had to make the very difficult decision to euthanize my cat, Kitty. He was 18-20 years old. He stopped cleaning himself and slowly stopped eating. I couldn't let him starve and he had no quality of life left. It wasn't easy whatsoever. The doctor and assistants were all very nice! Especially the younger blonde girl. The middle aged blonde was a bit rude on the phone while asking her questions. She must have been having a bad day though because she was nicer when I went to pick him up. Dr. Stair helped me feel more comfortable with the decision. I wasn't sure if I was making the right choice at first. Not that I had many choices available. I believe I was just blinded by the pain. I paid a little more than I would've had I had it done at the local SPCA since Dr. Stair lets you in the back during this time and the spca does not. I had a cat put to sleep at the spca years ago that I wasn't allowed back with, and I have not been able to forgive myself for this. Especially after seeing the saying on social media that says they look for you during this time. And how they dont know where they are or anyone in the room. It broke my heart. It still does. Thats why I decided to pay the $20 or $30 more. And then I choose to pay an extra $25 difference to have him cremated through the vet and I'm so glad I did! It came with his paw print, that the spca would have charged me $13 for and I didn't have to bring him home for the night to take him elsewhere. He returned home in a beautiful urn that was inside a nice velvet blue bag. His ashes in the urn are also in a velvet blue bag. It came with a little gold name tag to put on the urn. It also came with a certificate of cremation. (See pictures.) When I was picking him up, I saw someone else with the same bag but a different urn. It was still wood but was carved out on the top. It was even more beautiful than the one I received! I wasn't given any options for the urn or whatever but thats ok because the one I received is still beautiful. I actually bought one online but decided to use the one he came home in instead. I called around for pricing on this process and Trucksville animal hospital was the cheapest. Besides for the cremation, but as stated above, but it was well worth it.

Dr.Stair is so compassionate and I have taken every one of my pets here. He has compassion and his prices are the absolute best and fair. I walked in one evening to get my cat a flea treatment and the staff were so understanding and immediately took care of my cat, no appointment made, just a caring staff ready to help. They explained each product and it's benefits and even took her back to place the ointment on her themselves. We are currently working with them with our older cat and they have been nothing but understanding and willing to help. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
