Welcome to Troy Veterinary Clinic
Troy Veterinary Clinic, situated at 15579 PA-14, Troy, PA 16947, USA, functions as a "Pet Hospital" serving the local community. They can be contacted at (570) 673-3181 or +1 570-673-3181. As a veterinary care provider, the clinic aims to offer a range of services designed to address the health and well-being of companion animals in the Troy area.
The environment at Troy Veterinary Clinic, like many local "Pet Hospitals," is expected to be structured to facilitate veterinary examinations, treatments, and procedures. While specific details about the interior aesthetics or unique calming features are not extensively highlighted in readily available information, the general operational environment of a veterinary clinic typically includes a reception area for client check-ins and scheduling, examination rooms where veterinarians can assess patients, and potentially dedicated areas for diagnostic equipment, surgical procedures, and recovery. The primary objective of such an environment is to provide a functional and hygienic space for medical care. A key aspect of any veterinary setting is to strive for an atmosphere that manages and ideally reduces stress for both pets and their owners during visits, recognizing that a vet visit can be a source of anxiety for animals. The professionalism of the front desk staff, as mentioned in one review, suggests a welcoming and organized initial point of contact for clients.
As a "Pet Hospital," Troy Veterinary Clinic would typically offer a comprehensive suite of veterinary services to cater to the diverse needs of pets. These services commonly include:
- General Wellness and Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of veterinary practice, encompassing routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and preventive measures against parasites (e.g., fleas, ticks, heartworm).
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately identify and understand health issues, the clinic would generally provide basic diagnostic capabilities. This often includes in-house laboratory services for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Imaging services, such as X-rays, might also be available for assessing internal structures or detecting bone abnormalities.
- Medical Treatment: Management and treatment for various acute and chronic illnesses, infections, and injuries. This includes prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
- Surgical Procedures: Common surgical interventions are often performed at a "Pet Hospital." This would typically include routine procedures such as spaying and neutering.
- Dental Care: Basic dental services, such as cleanings and extractions, are crucial for maintaining a pet's oral health and overall well-being.
- Client Education: Providing guidance and information to pet owners on various aspects of pet care, including nutrition, behavior, and disease prevention, to empower them in making informed decisions about their pet's health.
The features of Troy Veterinary Clinic, as evidenced by customer reviews, present a notably contrasting picture, highlighting both long-term positive relationships and significant concerns. One review speaks to a consistent "excellent" level of service over 17 years, praising the entire team from "the front desk staff to vet techs to the doctor's." This long-term patronage and satisfaction suggest a history of reliable and supportive care, particularly for pets with ongoing conditions like dry eye disease, where consistent and diligent veterinary partnership is crucial. This client's experience underscores a perception of enduring dedication and competence for routine and chronic care management.
However, another review raises extremely serious and distressing concerns that provide a stark contrast. This review, a first-time Google review for the individual, explicitly aims "to save others from having their animal harmed, or even worse, killed." It details an instance where a dog's spay wound allegedly did not close properly after two months, with the clinic reportedly blaming the dog despite the owners' diligent adherence to post-operative instructions and use of preventative measures like cones. More alarmingly, the review cites a separate, personal acquaintance's experience where their dog reportedly "bled internally and died that night due to an error they made that was confirmed by the vet" following a spay surgery performed weeks after the first incident. These accounts point to significant and potentially critical issues regarding surgical protocols, post-operative care, accountability, and communication in these specific instances. The gravity of these claims, particularly the alleged fatality, casts a shadow over the clinic's surgical services in these specific cases and raises questions about consistency of care and patient safety. The review explicitly urges potential clients to "be more cautious" and "stay away" if they "value the lives of their pets," indicating a severe breakdown of trust and satisfaction for these particular clients.
Promotional information for Troy Veterinary Clinic would typically aim to emphasize their established presence in the community and their general offerings as a "Pet Hospital." They would likely highlight their range of services for pet wellness, general medical care, and possibly routine surgical procedures. The clinic might draw upon testimonials from long-term, satisfied clients who praise the consistent "excellent service" and the supportive staff, particularly for managing chronic conditions. However, any objective and responsible presentation of the clinic, especially online, must contend with the very serious and public concerns raised by the more critical reviews. While acknowledging long-standing positive relationships, it is crucial for potential pet owners to be fully aware of the highly negative experiences detailed, particularly those involving surgical complications and alleged fatalities. Therefore, while promotional efforts would naturally focus on positive aspects, the contrasting experiences necessitate a careful and informed decision-making process for anyone considering Troy Veterinary Clinic for their pet's care, especially for surgical procedures, prompting prospective clients to conduct thorough research and potentially inquire about specific protocols and safeguards.

Aug 16, 2023 · Lloyd WolfordThis is my first Google review ever and the only reason I am doing this is to save others from having their animal harmed, or even worse, killed. We took our dog in for a spay and after two months her wound had still not closed. Rather than taking accountability for their poor job at closing the dogs wound, they blamed the dog. We were diligent about adhering to their instructions during the healing time. We even purchased two types of cones from the vet to prevent her from licking the wound and we restricted her movement. If that isn't enough, a person I know well took their dog in for a spay a couple of weeks after our dogs surgery, and their dog ended up bleeding internally and died that night due to an error they made that was confirmed by the vet. Please be more cautious than we were when choosing a vet. We don't want to see anyone go through what we had to endure, and even worse, what our friend has experienced.
Mar 17, 2025 · DustyEveryone in this clinic is so kind and helpful! They have helped me so much recently with an emergency for my dog and they never tried to charge for unnecessary things. Their rates are very reasonable. Helpful with any questions I have. It is very clean. We also take our other animals there. They have went above and beyond, I highly recommend.
Jun 12, 2023 · Randi LandisThe last time I went to Troy Vet was a few years ago. They were so nice and very professional. Unfortunately, that vet no longer works there. Took my new puppy in for her first checkup and wound up with Dr. Wilson. She has the rare talent of smiling as she's rude. IF I ever go there again, I'll make sure to request someone different.
Jul 13, 2022 · Cherry PetersThey were wonderful and saw my dog Sage as an emergency visit when no other area vet would see her due to us being from out of state. Sage needed emergency surgery right away. Saved her life and the vet was amazing. I was very pleased with them and highly recommend them to everyone in Bradford County.
